  • "We love Bodlywydd Fawr, and Sophie and Ynyr are excellent hosts."

    This was the third stay for us, and the weather could not have been more different than last time. The sun shone and we were able to get out and explore the area. The Annexe is beautifully appointed with comfortable sofas and a big tv - you have to rely on streaming, and catch-up can be a bit temperamental… but you’re not there for the telly, are you? The kitchen has everything you could need, and the little extras are much appreciated! Upstairs has two large comfy bedrooms, a decent shower room and the bonus of a bath too. Overall a great home from home.

  • "This was our second stay at Bodlywydd Fawr Annexe, and it didn't disappoint."

    The only downside was the weather, but that's not something you can blame on the property or the hosts! This is a beautifully appointed place with all you need for a few days away. It also has good wifi in case you need to do some work... and fully functioning heating! Sophie and Ynyr are excellent hosts and while they keep themselves to themselves, it was great to have them on hand if necessary. We look forward to staying again when the weather is not quite so dreadful!

  • "'Bodlywydd Fawr - Annexe' was a great place to stay while we were visiting the area."

    The accommodation was very clean, comfortable and had everything we needed during our week there. It is set in a quiet location with views of the surrounding hills and nature all around. It is ideally located to explore the the local market town of Ruthin and further afield - Llangollen, Wrexham, Snowdonia and Chester. The owners are nearby and were extremely welcoming and helpful.

    It suited us for our stay, offering a weekend treat break, mid way between beautiful Llangollen and historical town Ruthin, along country Welsh lanes, and roads to stunning views too.   • "Bodlywydd Fawr Annexe is a beautiful property, furnished to a very high standard."

    Downstairs the good-sized living area is very comfy, the dining area and kitchen have just about everything you could possibly need for a few days away from home. It's really helpful to have good wifi too - especially as the phone coverage is not good! A hand-written welcome card, Welsh cakes and Bara Brith are a nice touch. Upstairs is very spacious with 2 big bedrooms, one of which has a fabulous bath, along with a stylish and functional shower room... the bed we slept in was extremely comfortable, too.

Park up to the side of the property and take yourself indoors with your belongings in tow.

Be delighted by the open-plan living space, contemporarily furnished with a sleek, fully-integrated kitchen, a dedicated dining space, and plush seating to relax upon after a day of travelling.

Bask in your surroundings by opting for an alfresco affair, with a private garden to the rear of the home.

Cosy up in front of the Smart TV before sloping off to sleep in one of two bedrooms on offer, including an inviting king-size, and a versatile family room; both are serviced by a sleek shower room.

Come morning, enjoy your morning coffee in the garden, before heading into the village for the necessities, whilst the Loggerheads Country Park is within driving distance, perfect to explore as a family.

RUTHIN

Llangollen 12 miles; Bala 18.5 miles; Chester 25 miles; Betws-y-Coed 30 miles.

In the hilltop town of Ruthin, lies to the north of Llangollen via the breathtaking Horseshoe Pass. There is a village shop where visitors can enjoy coffee and a cake before heading off to discover the surrounding area which includes a nearby butterfly conservation area and an old fort. Between here and Ruthin is the village of Llanfair-Dyffryn-Clwyd which has an impressive 15th century church and a pleasant pub, which serves quality food. Picturesque Ruthin is nearby and has a 700 year old history, boasting attractive, half-timbered buildings, mainly clustered around St Peter's Square, along with interesting shops and buildings and the Ruthin Craft Centre, which houses work by internationally recognised artists and craftspeople and is well worth a visit. Beautiful countryside is on Ruthin's doorstep, with Lake Brenig, Moel Famau, Loggerheads Country Park and Clocaenog Forest close by. Further afield, but still within easy touring distance are the Coast, Snowdonia National Park and the wonderful historic city of Chester.
