  • "We loved our stay."

We hadn't looked at the photos just booked based on location so everything was a pleasant surprise. The location was excellent down a quiet street with ease access to dog walks in parks and the beach. Only thing missing was a vacuum cleaner (with dogs I like to have access to one) and some fold out suitcase holders so we can open them at an easy height for us. I personally would prefer the kettle on the kitchen not in the lounge. But great stay loved it

  • "The apartment was luxurious and we were very impressed with it and loved the history, especially as we watched Titanic the Musical on the tv while we were there and it was like Bruce Ismay was back in the room."

Comfy beds, great shower, lovely selection of tea coffee etc provided, quiet on the whole, friendly host and neighbours...on the edge of the beach which we loved...local restaurants not dog friendly except for Ranchos where the food was very good. The room just needs a dressing table with a mirror to make it complete. There was a small desk. The kitchen was okay. We would definitely return.

  • "This is a lovely, interesting property, beautifully decorated and furnished, in a quiet location, very close to the sea and the Anthony Gormley sculptures, with Liverpool and Southport short journeys away."

The property was clean and comfortable with a generous welcome tray and supply of toiletries. The kitchenette is fine for preparing simple meals - we even managed to do soft boiled eggs in the air fryer! We loved sitting in the armchairs watching the ships go by. I was grateful to be able to use my granny charger for my car at a little extra cost. Communication with the owners was excellent. We loved this property and had a great stay.

It was a pleasure to host you. I’m so glad you enjoyed your stay in the Dining room suite. Best Wishes Vicky Property Owner

  • "Enjoyed our stay at the accommodation, one or two minor niggles."

Toilet seat a little loose, sink in bathroom, tap leaking. Hosepipe at gate not working and not enough rubbish bags. Would definitely come again.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. Feed back is very important to us. Apologies for the toilet seat, yes it was very wobbly…we’ve since changed this for a better one. I didn’t realise the hosepipe wasn't working, I’ll be sure to check what’s happened. And yes I’ll definitely add more bin bags to the suites. It was a pleasure to host you and Would love to welcome you again soon. Best Wishes Vicky Property Owner

  • "For the price, I expected an immaculate place."

We took exception that nowhere was it mentioned that there was no hob. Kitchenette without a hob? Really? There were no utensils to cover your food or cook in the microwave. Also, there was a leaky tab and a toilet that overflowed each time you used it. I'd expect better for the price! Some of the house rules were also ridiculous. You are not allowed to leave anyone under 18 on their own or have another person in the place, even for a short visit to name a few. In fact, we thought the whole place was overpriced and not good value for money. On the plus side, it was very clean and spacious (except the kitchen, which you know when you book it) and equipped with a toastie maker, air fryer, and pan-cake maker. There was an ample supply of tea and coffee-making supplies. The location is fab, too. And there is no denying that the building is just gorgeous.

Thankyou for taking the time to leave a review. The full summary of the kitchen is in the description with Sykes, apologises if you failed to see…we didn’t have a hob, when you booked the suite. Also, in the kitchen draws there are plenty of microwaveable tubs with lids. I can only apologise for the leaky tap and toilet. This has since been fixed. I only wish you could have let me know during your stay, as this could of been dealt with straight away. We do have certain rules in place regarding extra people visiting the property, this is mainly due to our fire regulations. However, a guest is very welcome to ask if a family member or friend would like to visit for a short period, at least then I have an idea of how many people are then in the building. Thank you so much for booking with us and I’m so pleased you loved the building and location. Regards Vicky Property Owner

  • "Only reason marking it down is due to the fact there was maintenance going on in the apartment adjoining we were not advised about."

Noisy during the day and having a dog with us could not settle him! Other than that the place is simply stunning - definite wow factor. very comfortable and all you need for a few nights stay and will definitely stay again! Great walks along the beach especially with having a dog! Loved the little welcome pack for the dog too, although we had taken our own!

Thank you for taking the time to give us your feed back. I can only apologise for the noise, it saddens me to hear it affected your stay. The suites are normally very quiet and tranquil. I can only hope you’ll visit again and we will very much look forward to hosting you. Best Wishes Vicky Property Owner

The apartment is amazing and very spacious, with beautiful views over Crosby beach. Complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits are also provided. Also the history of the mansion is very interesting. Private parking in the beautiful grounds which are immaculately presented. Very close to local shops and restaurants and lots of lovely walkways. Will definitely stay here again and wouldn’t hesitate it recommending it to friends and family. Would suggest a guestbook so that guests can leave their feedback.

  • "The accommodation is clean, spacious, comfortable, nicely decorated and furnished with lots of architectural features."

It's located in a quiet spot across the road from the beach, so you have a nice view and pleasant walks nearby. Waterloo train station is only a 10 minute walk away and 15/20 mins train journey to Liverpool Central. It was perfect for a family of four with enough facilities to make a continental breakfast, snacks and picnic for the day. The owners left plenty of tea, coffee and biscuits for our stay. The toiletries provided were a lovely touch. There were also binoculars, games, books to enjoy too. If you're interested in the Titanic, the property is steeped in history with lots of information about the Ismay family. My only criticisms are: Some of the previous occupants belongings were left in the drawers. The wardrobe and drawers would benefit from a wipe out as they were quite dusty/crumbs. The TV doesn't have Freeview or connected to an aerial. So if you don't subscribe to Netflix or Prime, you only have BBC1 and the Freeview/catch-up apps (if you've registered). Other than these very minor issues the accomodation was lovely and we would happily return if we visit Liverpool again. It was much nicer than staying in a hotel!

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We are thrilled to hear you enjoyed your stay here at Beach Lawn House. As a new business any feed back is very important to us. We appreciate the minor issues raised and these have now been dealt with. We would love to welcome you back again soon. Warm Regards Vicky Property Owner

Beach Lawn House (titanic Interest)

Welcome to the Beach Lawn House, the beautiful Mansion house that was originally built in 1860 for Mr Thomas Henry Ismay founder of the Oceanic Steam Navigation Company, more commonly known as the White Star Line. He purchased the property for only £2,500 on the 27th Dec 1860. The original deeds showing his signature can be seen in the hallway of the main house. Thomas Ismay’s house - like the remainder of its neighbours in Beach Lawn — was built in the Italianate manner, popular with the rich merchant classes during the 1860s, and one of a number of architectural styles which battled for favour during the 19° century. At Beach Lawn House, Thomas Ismay used Italianate in its most outspoken form, with a riot of profuse and opulent decoration. Here, the building covenants stipulated uniformity of style, hence all the other houses are Italianate ~ but typically, Ismay managed to outdo all the rest with a house more showy than all its neighbours. Since its original build in 1860 Beach Lawn House has never been open to the general public. In 1930 the Mansion house was divided up into 4 large apartments. In 2022 the new owners decided to renovate the huge ground floor apartment and have now created TWO separate letting suites on the ground floor level . The other area on the ground floor that contains the original Lounge room can from time to time also be privately booked for Private afternoon teas and small evening functions. The house sits opposite Crosby Beach in the Brighton – Le – Sands district of Merseyside. Beautifully presented throughout with off-road parking, EV charging, luxury touches and front lawns. The Beach House provides an exceptional retreat for couples and their canine companions looking to escape to this part of Liverpool for a while. Just a short walk away is Crosby Coastal Park, an excellent starting point for exploring Sefton’s Natural Coast, home to Crosby Lakeside Adventure Centre, a purpose-built water sports and visitor centre, featuring a bistro and gym. Crosby Beach offers a large expanse that is home to Antony Gormley's 'Another Place' sculpture, providing lovely walks leading onto the 22 mile Sefton Coastal Path that boasts wonderful coastline vistas. Located near to a train station, you can easily access the city centre of Liverpool and explore the popular Cavern Club, which has famously hosted bands such as The Beatles and Rolling Stones, before heading to the Royal Albert Docks for a choice of eateries and even concert square for bustling nightlife. The Beach provides a charming escape, whatever time of year.
