Ty Den

This immaculate and comfortable property is set in magnificent scenery with a wonderful view and you have the ability to explore the mountains directly from the front door or get to the coastal towns in no time at all.

The very helpful property owner is close by and his knowledge of the area ensures you can make the most of your stay. We’d certainly be returning in the future.

We found Ty Den to be fantastic- modern and comfortable inside, traditional on the exterior, providing a great base for our holiday.

The location is perfect for exploring North Wales with great views from the property. Vernon & Alison are perfect hosts. Highly recommend this property- we will be visiting again next year.

Superb, well appointed accommodation in a peaceful setting, very comfortable, ample parking, with views across to the sea and of Snowden.

Our hosts gave us a warm welcome, and were friendly, very helpful, but never intrusive All in all a great base for exploring Snowdonia and the North Wales coast. Very highly recommended

We used Ty Den as a base to walk up Snowdon and explore the area on bikes and walking, it was the perfect place for our family.

It was spotlessly clean and everything worked perfectly. Vernon was incredibly helpful with advice on places to go. The cottage was also very quiet and peaceful. Our boys loved seeing the new foals too!

The cottage is beautiful, very clean and welcoming. The location is stunning. Vernon was great, recommended us plenty of places to visit and spent time telling us all about his lovely ponies. Bonus points for fresh foals to see and an amazing shower!!

Ty Den was the perfect base camp to explore Snowdonia.

It's secluded but not isolated, cosy and has incredible views over the mountains and out to Anglesey. Ty Den is well equipped with quality kitchen equipment (rare in a holiday rental), comfy beds and as THE best shower. The owner Vernon was waiting to welcome us despite our 9pm late arrival. He personally showed us how things worked and was always on hand or a phone call away with local advice for walks, viewpoints, restaurant recommendations etc. We were blessed with sunshine all week so hiked, cycled, conquered Snowdon and visited Llanddwyn Island on Anglesey. We enjoyed a BBQ watching the sunset and lambs play in the adjacent field, a good feed at Garddfon Inn (Vernon recommended). Thank you for a wonderful week. A fantastic cottage in a lovely location.

Ty Den has everything we needed to enjoy a wonderful holiday in North Wales. It is set in a great location, views of the mountains and walks straight from the door. Its easy and quick to reach other locations in Snowdonia from the coast to places on the Llyn peninsula and Anglesey. The owner, Vernon, was a brilliant host, giving a great welcome and some excellent advice on good places to visit. We had an excellent holiday.

Ty Den was lovely.

We loved our stay and so did our dog. The accommodation is near to too many great walks and sights - we ran out of time!! Place was also clean and very comfortable. Vernon our host was great too - lots of advice on where to go and all beautiful. We will be back!!!

Ty Den is a brilliant base for exploring North Wales and Eryri National Park.

We didn't quite realise how close we were going to be to Snowdon! Vernon is a great host and knows all the best places to walk and eat in the area so listen to his recommendations. The cottage is lovely and rural feeling without being miles from Llanberis, shops and pubs. Place was clean and the spray mop is a nice touch for us dog owners in winter! If you are taking dogs that are used to going on the furniture, pack yourself some extra throws to protect the sofas as they are lovely leather suites.

The views are breathtaking and is a perfect base to go off exploring or perfect to just sit and relax. We enjoyed many beach and coastal walks. The accommodation is spotless and has everything you need. The owner Vernon was very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. He gave us lots of recommendations on places to see and visit. He was kind enough to get us down to our car due to the snow and we were extremely grateful. We would not hesitate to book again.

This place ticks every box: it has stunning views; a great location to access the seemingly endless amount of attractions in North Wales and the Snowdonia area; clean, comfortable and modern accommodation; and a fantastic host - Vernon was so helpful.

I had a wonderful stay at Ty Den with my family for the October half-term.

The cottage was very clean and tidy and had everything we needed for our stay. The views were beautiful and the location was perfect for visiting many of the local tourist attractions. Although we didn’t get to meet in person, Vernon was the perfect host and made sure that he contacted us before our stay and also during to make sure we had settled in well. We loved the recommendation of visiting Dinorwic Quarry and it was one of the best walks we have ever been on! We would love to come back and stay at Ty Den again in the future and will be recommending the cottage to family and friends. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your lovely property Vernon.

Ty Den is a fantastic place for a peaceful getaway.

The location is fabulous with views in every direction. Both Snowdon and the sea are visible in the same vista on a clear day. The property itself is clean, modern, warm, quiet and well equipped and was a perfect place for two of us and our dog. The hosts are amazing, and were the highlight of our short stay. They recommended places for us to visit, booked a table at a place for us to eat one evening, and even showed us some of Snowdonia's hidden gems. We had a brilliant short break and we're so pleased that we were able to spend it at Ty Den.

Ty Den is stunning , spotless and very well equipped. I would recommend this beautiful cottage to anyone . ” The cottage is beautiful, and the location is outstanding. Vernon has created a fantastic property with everything you need (fresh eggs were a very welcome bonus!). The property was spotless and very well looked after. Scenic views from every angle, from the changing views of Snowdon and the surrounding mountains to the views down to the coast with amazing sunsets. We spent many an evening sitting outside, just taking in the views and loving the peace and quiet. The biggest asset is Vernon himself; lovely guy and his knowledge of the local area is fantastic. What he doesn’t know about the area probably isn’t worth knowing. Vernon gave us great dinner recommendations and some lovely viewing spots – you must see the view of Llyn Padarn from North West end at sunset. Also, have a meal at the Garddfon Inn in Y Felinheli, which is right on the water. We loved our stay at Ty Den and will definitely be back.

Two things particularly stand out about Ty Den: its location, with unspoilt panoramic views of Yr Wyddfa and surrounding peaks; the condition and cleanliness of the house itself - spotless.

Vernon the owner checked in on us, even though he was on holiday at the time, and his housesitter John was a font of knowledge on the area and mountains and always ready to help if needed. We loved our time here.

We had a wonderful 4 days at Ty Den.

From the amazing views of Snowden (you could see the steam coming from the steam train as it travelled to the summit) to our host Vernon. He was so attentive. What he doesn't know about Snowdonia NP and what to visit, where to eat etc - isn't worth knowing. The accommodation is very comfortable. The only negative for us was the skylight in the master bedroom that made the bedroom extremely bright in the morning. But that is a personal preference - we just prefer a darker room.

I had a truly wonderful and unforgettable stay at this beautiful cottage.

From the moment I arrived, I was so impressed by how spotlessly clean and well-maintained everything was. The cottage was thoughtfully stocked with all the basic household items, which made my stay so much easier—no need to pack the kitchen sink! The location is absolutely beautiful, surrounded by stunning scenery that made every morning feel like a breath of fresh air. Vernon was an exceptional host—always on hand if we needed anything and full of great local knowledge. He honestly went above and beyond, what an absolutely lovely and kind man he was. I will really miss him! He recommended loads of lovely walks in the area, which my dog and I thoroughly enjoyed. One morning, he even brought me fresh bantam eggs from his own hens—they were the most vibrant yellow and delicious eggs I’ve ever had! After all the fresh air every day, the beds were divine, incredibly soft and the bedding was just perfect—so comfortable and inviting after a day of exploring. This has been such a relaxing and memorable getaway. I am already looking forward to coming back next time with the rest of the family. Thank you Vernon, until next time! Beautiful property in a stunning location, much better than the photos would suggest.

Centrally located to visit gardens, castles, the coast and the mountains. The host Vernon went over and above to make us welcome and to show us the local beauty spots, thank you! If you are visiting North Wales, I would definitely suggest basing yourself here, highly recommended.

The hosts were very welcoming and the property was well equipped and very clean and comfortable. The location is beautiful with lots of walk options from the property meaning you can leave the car and embrace the countryside! My children loved the chicks and horses. Hosts were very welcoming and keen to make sure we had everything we needed, with tips of where to visit!

We had the most incredible 5 day stay at Ty Den.

It is immaculate, quiet and Vernon and John were so helpful with anything we needed. It was light and airy, very comfy beds, and a lovely shower - perfect after a day of hiking. Great location, we hiked the electric mountain, literally can see it and a 5 min drive to the start of the hike, went to Newborough beach ~ 35 mins away. Also 9 min drive to lake padarn. We also loved Meg the very friendly little Jack Russell, thank you for a lovely stay, Gemma & Chris

Absolutely stunning location!

The barn has been completed to perfection and the setting with the horses , chickens and sheep nearby was lovely. The owners Vernon and Alison treated us like family and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, showing us the area and recommending some beautiful places to visit and explore. We had an amazing week exploring North wales and hiking to the summit of Snowden! The barn was a very comfortable and homely environment to come back to and relax, and the large powerful shower was a bonus to help unwind. Thankyou for helping us make some fantastic memories. We had an absolutely amazing stay at Ty Den!

Vernon & Alison are excellent hosts and we thank them for sharing their farm with us. Nothing was too much trouble & they helped us out with advice, taxis, anything we needed. The house is amazing & has everything you need in it, Vernon has done a great job building it! We particularly loved the recliner chairs after a long day of walking. The beds are all super comfy and the kids absolutely loved the crog loft! It was also lovely staying on the farm & seeing the lambs, chickens, horses etc. The views (on a clear day!) were outstanding, you can see Dinorwic, Snowdon & also Caernarfon Castle & the Menai straits from the farm. We didn’t get the best weather (3 x days of heavy rain), but did have one really nice, sunny day which is the day we did Snowdon - 3/4 way up on the train, walked the rest & all the way down. Dinorwic Quarry is just 5 mins down the road, so we went to explore more & more each evening. We had a day trip to Anglesey & visited Beaumaris & also the sea zoo when the heavens opened again! We also walked around Cwm Idwal & then visited Bounce Below at Zipworld. All close enough to the farm to not feel like you were driving all holiday. All in all a great holiday, made even better by the place we stayed & amazing hosts! We will definitely come back as it was the most perfect place & location.

Ty Den was cozy and warming and Vernon was a great host.

He explained everything we needed to know on arrival and gave us great suggestions on places of interest that we could explore. The property was very clean and super close to Llanberis path and Dinorwig Slate Quarry - both suggestions from Vernon are a must do when in the area. There was a storm on the 3rd night so we stayed in and the property was well heated. We cooked and relaxed and loved just taking a step back on New Year's eve. We also appreciated the Welsh cakes, cookies and chocolates provided by the hosts during our stay which was a nice touch. We look forward to returning when the area next time. Everything about our experience of the property was positive and it has a view of the surrounding mountains that was exceptional.

The location was perfect, close to lots of different walks in Snowdonia and close to the coast when we wanted a change.

Ty Den is a stylish and well fitted-out barn on a farm at a beautiful location with stunning views of the surrounding hills and scenery.

The village of Deniolen is less than 3 mins walk away with a pub, a shop and friendly locals. Hiking starts from right behind the house, a Pilgrims Path runs over the property. Vernon, the owner is very friendly and knowledgeable about hiking trails, and all things Welsh. He’s happy to give advice about what to see and do. His tip to visit the local disused slate quarry was spot-on. A real hidden gem, as he said. The fresh eggs from the chickens for breakfast were a real treat. He is an enthusiastic and endearing host and made our stay all the more enjoyable. Thanks Vernon!

Great property with lovely far reaching views from the grounds.

Vernon is a great host, helpful and is very knowledgeable about the local area. The cottage is very clean, in good condition and in a easily accessible location from Anglesey beaches, Snowdonia and betws y coed areas.

Vernon was very helpful; he explained what places to visit around the area. The place has stunning views, is very comfortable, and was recently renovated. Aber Falls and other Snowdonia places are nearby (20 minutes drive). Definitely recommended!

It is very well quipped, everything you need after a day on the mountain. For those that like peace and quiet, it has it all, off the beaten track yet still only a 10 min. walk to the village local shop. Locater in a beautiful part of Wales overlooking Snowdon and surrounding mountains.

The property is incredible build and furnished to the highest standards, with ample parking. The owners were so kind and helpful giving advice about the area and always on hand to give support in the event of any issues that may arise. Would recommend this holiday cottage to anyone who wants a relaxing time on the door step of some of the most amazing sights Wales has to offer.

Vernon is one of a kind and what he has done on Ty Den is incredible!

We couldn’t fault it. A girls weekend away to experience the beauty of Snowdon and we were given so much more than we expected! From as little as the welcoming of our arrival and tour of the stunning property, there are views that would take your breath away (thats if you appreciate the outdoors) the kindness of him and his wife to allow us to buy a blender so that we could make soup that night (if you do use it, you are welcome) and the impromptu tour of Llanberis on our last night. Ty Den is beautiful inside and out! I joked with Vernon that I didn’t want to give a review because I selflessly didn’t want to have to share it with anyone else but this place and all of his hard work deserve the biggest shout out going. I promise you now, you will be thoroughly impressed with this place and its surroundings. With Snowdon just down the road, supermarkets and pubs no more than 10mins in the car and a peaceful getaway for those that just need to unwind, this is the place. We are so glad to have stumbled across this little haven and already can’t wait to come back. I guarantee you won’t find a better place or host! Thank you Vernon for making our weekend such a memorable one. You are on of a kind!

The cottage is nicely finished in a lovely quiet location with views of Snowdon in the distance. It was well placed for all our favourite areas of Snowdonia and we also enjoyed the great recommendations of places to visit in the area that are now well known.

My parents and I stayed for a weekend in April 2024 and it was fantastic.

The location is superb and had amazing views straight out of the front door up into Snowdonia in one direction and out over the Menai Straights in the other. Vernon (the owner) was so friendly and welcoming, and even gave us a load of local knowledge including where to go to get some great views and scenery. It only takes about 20mins to get into the mountains and the same to get into Bangor or Caernarfon. The property was modern (very recently renovated) and super clean. The kitchen was really well stocked with everything you needed to cook and clean up after. The beds were comfy and the shower was excellent. You could literally turn up with some food, clothes, and toiletries and have everything you need for a visit! Thank you Vernon for letting us stay in the lovely Ty Den. We will certainly be back again in the future, and highly recommend it for anyone visiting North Wales.

Magnificent!

We had a wonderful stay in Ty Den with our dog. The location was perfect and we reached all the places we wanted in no time, not even mentioning the view. Living in a farm in the mountains was very special and great experience for us. The interior was cosy, but modern and had all we needed. We especially loved the warm welcome. We were shown around and given some traveling advice, including some local places that are not well known. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the owners once again for making this possible!
