  • "We had a great week in Y Felyn and were impressed by this well equipped little property."

    The milk, shortbread and wine were most welcome and gratefully received. There is plenty to do and see in the vicinity with a good footpath in the village which runs alongside the Highland railway all the way to Caernarfon. We will most certainly look to book again if we return to the area.

  • "Lovely little cottage tucked away but very accessible for all of Snowdonia and the Llyn Peninsula."

    Spotlessly clean & well equipped. Good walk in shower , comfy bed and chairs. All on one level and parking right outside which is surrounded by fields. Welcome gift on arrival of biscuits, wine and milk which was very appreciated. Would definitely stay here again!

  • "This is an ideal property for two."

    Spotlessly clean, well equipped with everything in working order. My wife and I spent four nights here and took the opportunity to visit our daughter and family. Car parking is adjacent to the property and there is much to see in the area. Five minutes from Caernarfon. We highly recommend this quiet cottage with lovely views and space to relax

  • "Wynn & Rhian were lovely hosts and made sure I had everything I needed."

    They left some milk, biscuits and a bottle of wine in the property which was very thoughtful as I was able to make a coffee when I arrived. Would definitely recommend and will be visiting in the future.

  • "We had a lovely week at Y-Felin cottage."

    It was all we could ask for and Rhian and wynn are fabulous hosts. We had some lovely walks especially along the railway walk and you can also get on the lovely steam train about 15 minutes walk away from the cottage. We will definitely go back to this cottage.

    It wasn't particularly warm weather and rained a lot but the cottage was a lovely warm (even without the heating on) place to come back to after exploring what the area has to offer. We would definitely recommend it to anyone

  • "Y Felin is an absolutely beautiful place to stay."

    Set in a quiet location, it is spotlessly clean and has everything you need for your stay ( the shower is amazing ). It is in a great location to explore that area of Wales. There are plenty of amenities in Caernarfon and Bangor, which is a short drive away. The owner, Rhian, was wonderful and came to make sure we had everything we needed upon our arrival ( the milk, cake and wine were happily received ). We will definitely be going back some time one the future

    Y Felin is set in a beautiful area looking back on Snowdonia national park. Y Felin cottage was spotless, and so peaceful to come back to after exploring North Wales. It has everything you need for that peace Holiday.

    Only thing I would ask for would be some bins inside the cottage to separate the recycling. I would definitely recommend this cottage, we might book it again next year! Great owner, was very responsive, able to text me back if I had questions.

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our 5-night stay at Y Felin."

    It’s such a beautifully presented cottage with top quality fittings and furnishings and everything you need for the perfect stay, including a superb walk-in shower, Smart TV and excellent Wi-Fi. The generous welcome pack from our hosts was very much appreciated too. It’s such a private, peaceful, light and spacious place with lovely sitting out areas to take in the beautiful farmland and mountain views. It’s also very well placed to explore the surrounding areas of Caernarfon, the Llyn Peninsular, Anglesey and Snowdonia. Just a short walk away is the Dinas station on the Welsh Highland Railway line and the Lon Eifion cycling and walking path that runs alongside it. This path takes you 3.3 miles to Caernarfon Castle. The Newborough Inn (1.3 miles away in Bontnewydd) does excellent food and drink at amazingly favourable prices. Even closer for a special dining experience is The Gunroom at Plas Newydd. A Morrisons Daily and a Go Outdoors are also close by. All in all, we can highly recommend Y Felin and look forward to returning very soon.

  • "We had a great stay at Y Felin cottage."

    The cottage was beautiful and had everything you needed. It was very warm and cozy. The surrounding area was lovely, it felt like you were in the middle of nowhere even though you were close to a major road, it was very quiet and peaceful. We met Rhian, the owner ,on our first evening, she came to check everything was ok. We also met Wynn, Rhians husband, a few times and had some lovely lengthy chats with him. They were a lovely couple and very quick to respond to any queries. I would definitely recommend this cottage.

CAERNARFON

Llanberis 8 miles; Bangor 9 miles.

Caernarfon (county town of Gwynedd) has much historic and cultural importance in North Wales. It is a popular tourist spot with its impressive 13th Century castle, well preserved town walls and delightful water front. During the season there are guided tours of the castle and special events including historic pageants. There is also a station for the Welsh Highland Railway, which passes through dramatic scenery, the village of Beddgelert and onto Porthmadog. Boat trips are available from the harbour and another attraction within walking distance of the town centre is Segontium, a Roman fort and museum, housing many important finds. Caernarfon offers a wide selection of shops and places to eat and is close to the lovely beaches of Ynys Mon (Anglesey) and the Lleyn Peninsula as well as the mountains and rivers of Eryri (Snowdonia National Park), including the renowned mountaineering town of Llanberis at the foot of Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon).
