  • "A fantastic place to stay."

Spotlessly clean, all the facilities you need and with the bonus of having the most stunning views. Easy to get to and within reach of so many beautiful locations. Barbara was very helpful prior to our stay and provided all the information we needed. The only (very small) criticism is that I found the mattress in the master bedroom a little uncomfortable, but we all have different preferences when it comes to mattresses! That would definitely not stop me returning and recommending the property to others. Thank you for a memorable stay.

  • "We had a lovely stay at Menai View."

The settings and surroundings are beautiful. Myself and my husband slept in the smaller of the two doubles to allow my dad on crutches easy access to the ensuit. Being tall (my husband is 6ft3 and I'm 5ft9) we found the bed too short and cramped. We did fear that the bed was also going to give up as it did not feel very stable and was extremely creaky even with the slightest movement. I loved how comfortable the mattress was but the noise of the bed did not make for a good night's sleep. The bedroom furniture in the small double and twin room was quite dated too. That aside the rest of the property was perfect for what we needed and well equipped. We would love to stay again.

Great base for exploring Anglesey . Loved the views , The hotel next door has a nice outdoor seating area to sit and have a pint. Lots of historical places to visit nearby. My only criticism would be , televisions in the bedrooms and perhaps a king size bed ,we found the bed quite small. Stunning place, in a great location.

  • "We had a lovely holiday on this gem of an island: walking sections of the beautiful coast and visiting interesting sites."

Despite being situated on the south of the island, Menai View is a very good base from which to explore because of its proximity to the Expressway. It is also a welcoming place to come back to, especially with the delightful view over the church, the Straits and Eryri. The villa did not disappoint on any level and I have already recommended it to family and friends.

  • "Very pleasant location with a view over the Menai Strait."

Some low level traffic noise from the Britannia Bridge and local train service but other than that, a tranquil location. Very poor mobile phone and 4G signal that also applies to many areas of North Wales but WhatsApp works well. Local shops are a short drive away and a Tesco Superstore is around a 10 minute drive. Facilities within the cottage are extremely good with a good sized kitchen and living/dining room. The three bedrooms are all adequately sized with the double bedroom being the smallest. Note; the twin bedroom has another room above which is occupied from next door and low level movement noise can be heard occasionally. The main entrance door to the property does need some attention as it appears to have dropped slightly making the locking/unlocking process quite hard. All in all, we would be happy to return to this property again in the future.

  • "Excellent cottage with first floor balcony, patio with seating and large side garden."

The property is roomy with a large lounge and kitchen downstairs and master bedroom with en suite and two large bedrooms and family bathroom on the first floor. Great views over the Menai Strait towards Snowdon and plenty of wildlife in the garden and surrounding land to provide interest. The Anglesey coast path passes the cottage. The town of Menai Bridge is around 5 mins from the property with shops and a Waitrose. Tesco in Bangor and Asda in Llangefni are also in easy reach. The property listing correctly notes that there are pylons near the property and some noise from the Britannia Bridge. Neither of these detracted from our enjoyment of the property. The property is well heated with a controllable CH system and there is a log burner. We felt completely at home during our stay and look forward to returning in the future.

  • "We were a family of five adults plus a guest looking for a midweek break."

I had obviously seen photographs of the cottage when I booked it online but when we arrived through the electric gates and onto the driveway my family literally spent ten minutes staring at the cottage in wonder. By the time we were all inside we knew we had made the right choice. The cottage was more like an elegant mansion, very roomy with high ceilings, and yet very cosy at the same time. It was very well equipped with absolutely everything one would need for a great stay and very nicely furnished. The views from the patio area and the balcony in the main bedroom were terrific. I admit, even though in our short stay we ventured to South Stack lighthouse and Holyhead, Newborough Warren, Beaumaris and Penmon Point, the minute we left the cottage we stayed parked up in the church car park whilst we investigated the church and its grounds and the coastal walk to the statue looking out of the bay. Finally, I would like to thank Mrs Burgess for being such a good host. When arranging arrival times and picking up of the key she emphasised that if there was anything we needed during our stay we were to give her a call. However, we didn't need anything else because everything one could think of was already provided. We had a wonderful few days in a wonderful setting in a wonderful cottage and I would wish to thank Mrs Burgess for that.

This was our second visit and we hope to be back again next year. It’s a very comfortable, spacious and well-appointed home with a wonderful terrace. Standing on the balcony with a glass of wine looking over the straits to Snowdonia is very special. The location is perfect - get to Anglesey and you’ve arrived. There is good access to the rest of the island -the main road is only a couple of minutes away and shops and other amenities close by in Menai Bridge.

This house is wonderful and airy inside, fully equipped for the most active or lazy holiday. So much character in the place that it's just cosy to sit inside and finally relax. The views from the living room, balcony or the patio make it hard to drag yourself away- even on the most rainy day the sight over the Straits and into Snowdon are breath-taking. The grounds were enjoyed by our 2 year old who enjoyed chasing the bunnies and looking for dragons in the trees with Daddy and Mommy. Great base for exploring the Island too- a day on Newborourgh Warren is never enough! Thanks again for a wonderful holiday- we'll be talking about it until the next one!

  • "The accommodation was OK and bathrooms and bedrooms were cleaned well however some areas could benefit from a better clean."

Lots of cobwebs on walls and down the side of units. Our biggest disappointment was the quality and comfort of the beds. The mattresses on both twin beds were very poor and you could feel the springs through them. The mattress in the double bed again was poor quality and had a foam topper on it plus this bed is obviously broken as everytime you moved in the bed it made a terrible creaking noise. The duvets on the beds were also incredibly thick which would be great for cold winter nights but not for hot summer nights, supplying thinner duvets for the summer would be better.

Nice seating and bbq area outside and plenty of room for kids to run about, gated front so nice and safe. About the location

LLANFAIRPWLLGWYNGYLL

Menai Bridge 2 miles; Beaumaris 6 miles.

Affectionately known by the locals as Llanfair PG, the Anglesey village of Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrnd robwllllantysiliogogogoch, also known by its shortened name of Llanfairpwllgwyngyll has the longest place name in Europe. It was artificially named back in 1860 as a publicity stunt for the railway station and translates from Welsh as "St Mary's church in the hollow of the white hazel near to the fierce whirlpool and the church of St Tysilio of the red cave". Situated close to the Menai Straits, just off the Britannia Bridge, Llanfair PG has much to offer families. After having your photo taken next to the village nameplate at the railway station, head into the popular visitors centre for local tourist information. A short walk past the octagonal Toll House, towards Menai Bridge, will bring you to the Marquis of Anglesey statue and column which, for a small fee, you can climb the 115 steps to the top for superb views of the countryside and coastline. Nelson’s Monument can be easily reached on the banks of the Menai Straits, passing St Mary’s Church on the way. With several good pubs with restaurants, craft and gift shops and cafes, plus the beautiful Anglesey coastline within walking distance, there is plenty to entertain you all year round.
