“We are returning visitors to this beautiful cottage in an ideal location with good access to the Llyn Peninsula, Anglesey, Snowdonia and lots of activities to offer (from beaches to mountains).”

Cottage is clean and well equipped. The cordial, welsh cakes and preserves are a lovely touch. The family are very attentive and welcoming and always happy to chat.

Cottage is clean and well equipped. The cordial, welsh cakes and preserves are a lovely touch. The family are very attentive and welcoming and always happy to chat. We love the wildlife surrounding the cottage: birds, bats and cows and would recommend for anyone seeking a peaceful location, but options to do as little or as much you want.

This property is part of the Menai Holidays collection.
Over 400 carefully selected and perfectly located properties, helping you create your perfect holiday.

The property

Pen y Bont holiday cottage lies in the most idyllic setting, south of Caernarfon, with pastureland gently giving way to the hills behind.

You can hear the river meandering its way down to the sea, which you can see from the front of the house.

This cottage has everything that you come on holiday for! The well equipped kitchen has an electric cooker and hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge and freezer, and is furnished with a farmhouse table and chairs. The snug sitting room has oak floors with rugs, a flat screen TV and DVD player.

When the sun pours in, you can open the French windows and step out into the garden to soak up the peace and quiet.

The inglenook fireplace and wood burning stove make this a great place for a winter break too.

A sofa bed can be made up on request. There is a utility room with a sink, washing machine and freezer and a downstairs shower room with loo and wash hand basin. Upstairs there are two bedrooms.

One with a 4' bed, and a bunk bedroom (6'6" by 3'2"). The bathroom has a bath with shower over, loo, wash hand basin and ladder radiator. A small enclosed lawned garden to the back is accessed from the snug by french doors.

To the front, there is a large grassed and gravelled area, which is not enclosed.

The property stands on its own and in a quiet location.

This pretty holiday cottage has been carefully refurbished.

The inglenook fireplace has the original bread oven, and there are oak lintels above the windows, little nooks and crannies, and the odd exposed stone here and there to remind you of its’ history. Pen y Bont is close to lovely beaches and coves.

The Llŷn Peninsula has wonderful walks on the coastal path.

You'll find good food at the Beuno or the Harp which are close by, and the garage in the village has a small shop.
