  • "Great Views."

Lovely house. Well equipped. Very comfortable with everything you need. Good location also - Ruthin only 5 mins drive away with lots of nice cafes, takeaways, shops & museums. I especially liked nantclwyd y dre historic house museum & walking around the castle grounds with the peacocks.

Thank you so much for your review. We are pleased to hear that you have enjoyed visiting Ruthin and Coedfan was a comfortable base for you all. We hope to see you again in the future. Property Owner

  • "The property was spotless, beautiful and very comfortable with an incredible and relaxing view of fields."

Things in the house were easy to use with instructions for use. The kitchen was well equipped with other necessary items in a cupboard. There was also outside furniture. The owner was in touch for any questions and she was so helpful. The house was a great base for visiting North Wales. It was a truly delightful stay.

It was a pleasure to have you stay with us Maria, and thank you for your lovely review. We hope to see you again in the future. Property Owner

  • "This was our 2nd time at Coedfan and it will be our last."

Our whole holiday was ruined by lack of swift action by the owners in removing a wasps nest that was by the main entrance steps and which I reported with a few hours of us arriving. Nothing was done about this until the Wednesday 6 days into our holiday, after repeatedly contacting the owners. Unable to sit outside at the rear patio where all the views are due to number of wasps and unable to open any rear windows. Sleep was disturbed due to wasps making nest in walls. Outside bins were full when we arrived on the Friday and were not emptied by owners until Tue. Had to get rid of rubbish myself! Hoover was full of dirt and dust when we went to use it and there was no dust pan or brush to clean any crumbs up etc. Bitterly disappointed with this holiday and attitude of owners who failed to ensure the property was ready to let out and failed to act swiftly to make sure our holiday wasn't most definitely was.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us feedback. I'm very sorry to hear that you feel your holiday was ruined by the wasps nest. I am equally saddened by the amount of facts you have chosen to omit. When you contacted us on arrival, we responded immediately, and very apologetically explained that we were away that weekend. We assured you we were returning Monday night and also offered you alternative access to the property bypassing the wasps nest, which you were happy with. After returning, I contacted you Tuesday to make sure you were happy for me to empty the outside bins and assess the nest. Unfortunately, pest control weren't available until the following day. As soon as I had confirmation of the visit, I communicated this to you. I have made our housekeepers aware of the oversight regarding the hoover, we have a team of very good housekeepers as is evident from previous reviews. I'm sorry you didn't manage to find the dustpan, it is always stored under the kitchen sink. I am disappointed with the way this letting ended, however, I believe we acted on the wasps nest, as fast as we could. Property Owner

Couldn't find any faults at all, everything we needed was provided. Hosts were attentive and quick to respond to our questions but not at all intrusive. Cakes, bubbly, milk and more left to welcome was a very nice and appreciated gesture.

It was so nice to meet you and your family. Thank you for this lovely feedback and we hope to see you again in the future. Property Owner

  • "This was our second stay and we really love this property."

We were a party of five covering three generations of a family, so the spaciousness of the interior of the bungalow was really welcome. We were lucky with the weather - every day was fine, dry and sunny - which enabled us to make full use of the outdoor seating areas. Both the front area (garden) and the rear area (views across fields to the hills) have high quality garden furniture. We would hope to return for a third stay in the future.

It was great to have you and your family back again Brian, and thank you for another lovely feedback. Property Owner

  • "Coedfan is a beautiful, very comfortable property, extremely peaceful with fabulous views."

The kitchen is well equipped and the property is furnished to a high standard. The beds are very comfortable and the house itself was spotlessly clean. It is only a short drive to Ruthin which has a Tesco store which is well stocked. We had a wonderful week there and would not hesitate to recommend the property. Col and Gwyn are lovely hosts. Jo

About the location

Llangollen 12 miles; Bala 18.5 miles; Chester 25 miles; Betws-y-Coed 30 miles.

The hilltop town of Ruthin lies to the north of Llangollen via the breathtaking Horseshoe Pass. The town is picturesque with attractive half-timbered buildings, mainly clustered around St Peter’s Square. There are many interesting shops and buildings, whilst the Nant Clwyd House (the oldest timber frame in Wales), Ruthin Gaol and Ruthin Craft Centre, which houses work by internationally recognised artists and craftspeople, are also worth a visit. Beautiful countryside is on Ruthin’s doorstep with Lake Brenig, Moel Famau Country Park and Clocaenog Forest close by. Further afield, but still within easy touring distance, are the coast, Snowdonia National Park and historic Chester.
