  • "Oakley Wharf is a lovely place to stay."

The accommodation is comfortable and had everything we needed, the shower is powerful , there is plenty of storage and a parking space is provided. The views from the patio area are beautiful and the area was peaceful. The location is great for walking into Porthmadog and handy as a base for getting around locally. We are a family of 4 with two pre-teen children and it suited us perfectly, we would stay again if in the area.

  • "Stayed many times in this property and it is absolutly fabulous but I had a few issues."

Decoration is tired and could do with a refresh. The patio windows were filthy and I had to clean them (just took a few minutes) in order to enjoy the amazing view. The internal door with the glass panels was also dirty but I drew the line at cleaning this. The toilet seat was still loose, I reported this back in 2025 on my last visit and the pop up plug in the bathroom sink very difficult to get it to come up.

  • "We first holidayed in Porthmadog in 1967 and have spent many happy holidays there since."

We camped locally when our boys were little, then upgraded to B and B's, and holiday rentals. This is the 2nd time on Oakley Wharf our first time with Sykes. The standard with Sykes was very much higher. So impressed with the number of towels ( all spotlessly white) and the kitchen and dining equipment. We only used the double bedroom and it's book was very comfy, with a surfete of pillows all immaculate. The most amazing thing about the apartment was the view from the French windows out over the bay to the mountains beyond. The sea is literally 6 yards from the apartments french doors. Lovely new shower was a plus. We loved it. Thank you Sykes. Susanne Taylor.

  • "The property was excellent."

The interior was light and airy, clean and modern. Very comfortable. The location is amazing with just 5 yards between the patio and the waters edge. A beautiful place to sit and watch the boats go by. Just up from the main marina it was far from the madding crowd and very quiet and peaceful. All in all a brilliant stay. One small issue, which did not alter the experience for us, was that the description states there is a bath with shower over. This needs updating as there is an excellent walk in shower where the bath would have been. The shower is brilliant but other guests may be disappointed by the lack of a bath. Still, the score was 10 out of 10 overall.

  • "Good location, we have stayed before."

Helpful local rep/cleaner - plumbing issue sorted promptly. Bathroom upgrade welcome but spoilt by failure to replace tatty blind.

  • "Small comfortable cottage, with a lovely view over looking the harbour."

We had a lovely stay in Porthmadog exploring Snowdonia National Park, Port Merrion and the surrounding beaches.
