  • "Wonderful, the only slight things I’d mention are, Shower doors by pool table don’t close properly but not an issue and the bingo balls are missing loads of numbers (white highlighter would do the trick) Super cottage in a very handy location for local amenities and day trips out."

Thanks Derek for the feedback, I'll take a look, I'm glad you all had a great time at our cottage. All the fours sort out the shower doors lol. See you again soon Steve Property Owner

Hi Craig, I think this review has to be up there with some of the best ones we have had over the last few years of trading, we are so delighted you all had a fab time and enjoyed what the property had to offer for your wife's birthday. The house was great. Plenty big enough for 7 of us. Big bedrooms with en suites and a nice bathroom. Huge kitchen with everything you could need. Area was spot on. Just off the beaten path. And plenty going on in Rhyl to entertain the kids. Close enough to many attractions a little further afield. Shops, supermarkets, the lot really. Host was really nice and helped us whenever needed. We all really enjoyed it. Only improvement I would make would be to link the 3 garden sections somehow. Thanks for our stay !!

Thanks David, Glad you all had a great time at the cottage, we appreciate the honest and very possitive feedback given. Hope we see you again soon. Steve and Lynn (owners) Property Owner

Steve was also a great host and we felt we could get in touch with him anytime we needed anything and he would go out of his way to help.\

Spacious property inside and out, everyone commented on how comfy the beds were. Gorgeous kitchen and seating area was great for us playing games and enjoying a meal together. Pool table was a great hit with the boys. Garden was enjoyed by our 2 dogs and us on the sunny afternoon we got. Great location for enjoying north wales or just wandering down to the beach. We had a bleeping smoke detector and Steve was there an hour later sorting it out and he contacted us on the Saturday to let us know we could get in earlier on the Monday so was a great host. We had a brilliant holiday and Beach Cottage was a big part of that. We would stay again.

Thank you Lynn for your lovely review, we are so pleased you found everything at the cottage to your liking and the holiday went well for you all. We always try our best to ensure guests have the best time possible during their stay so its great you made the most of it. Hope to see you all again. Steve and Lynn (owners ) Property Owner

  • "We loved our family holiday at Beach Cottage."

We were able to check into the cottage earlier than stated which was great as family was coming from different locations. There was plenty of space for everyone, the cottage is well furnished and had everything we needed. Short easy walk to the beach where we enjoyed long walks with the dogs, hired bikes from the bike shop at the harbour, enjoyed breakfasts at the cafe and lots to explore in North Wales. Many thanks to Steve!!

Thank you so much for your possitive feedback, it does mean a lot to owners like myself and its also refreshing to hear when people appreciate the properties they stay in. Hope to see you all again. Property Owner

  • "We have just had a 2 day break at Beach Cottage."

The pictures do not do the property justice, it is a lovely property and catered well for both young and old. An earlier arrival would be better at the cost of £600 a night, more toilet roll and logs for the fire would have been appreciated.

Thank you for your kind review Phyllis and that you appreciated the property and what it had to offer you and your family during your stay, I did try to ring you to come in earlier but couldn't get an answer which was unfortunate. I agree more tiolet rolls should be provided and will ensure this is done moving forward. A large basket of complimentary logs are provided as mentioned in the property details prior to booking and guests have full access to the central heating and hot water day and night. Please also note that we didn't actually recieve £600 a night after commission is taken off, I wish we did .. Property Owner

  • "The property needs a deep clean and has a constant odour."

The towels were all stained. My husband had to buy more as we didn’t take any with us. The toilet at rear was not flushing properly. The bathrooms need extractor fans. The beds were uncomfortable except for the small single bed which I tried one night. The outdoor space was very bitty and scattered, the kids play area was too separated. Didn’t feel comfortable for the kids to be there by them selfs. On the plus side the fire place and pool table were nice and the conservatory was our favourite place. Unfortunately I won’t be returning.

Unfortunately I have to disagree with your negative review, we have been operating for a number of years and as you can clearly see the majority of comments on here are very positive indeed. We pride ourselves on great feedback and I can assure you we certainly don't want our guests to not enjoy their stay with us. We are at the property ourselves during cleaning to ensure it is as good as it can be prior to guest arrival. Neither sykes or ourselves were informed of any problems during your stay. You found six out of the seven beds uncomfortable which i cant really understand as they all have quality matress toppers on them for extra comfort, I realise we all have different preferences when it comes to matresses but this is impossible for us to judge, when guests go away they tend to except this and I don't recall anyone ever complaining about even one of our mattresses if I'm honest let alone six of them. The large secure garden area for the children has been a bit plus for guests as you can see by the previous reviews. Both en suit bathrooms have a window for ventilation, we did not put extractor fans in as they run for ages after you turn the lights off which would keep you awake at night, again this has never been an issue with any of our other guests before now. It is unfortunate you did not enjoy your stay with us and have gone out of your way to find things to complain about which are totally untrue. Property Owner

  • "Many thanks for a really fabulous place, it was exactly right for all 12 of us."

We all had very spacious bedrooms - really great for the teenagers to have good sized beds, and we fitted two travel cots in, with enough space. The bedroom at the other end of the house gave us a bit of space from the kids and three shower/bathrooms meant no queuing. The little ones just loved the playhouses in the garden and spent many hours running in and out, and the big kids loved the pool table, we had a very complicated knockout game... This suited us, nothing too posh to have us worrying about the kids being kids, but everything we needed. The beach is only a few minutes away and we walked to Rhyl along the front across the beautiful butterfly bridge. Good parking too. And last but not least - very grateful to Steve for sorting a precious left item and posting it quickly. But nothing is more precious than time together as a family, thank you!

Thank you Caroline for your lovely feedback, it is nice to get away with family. Glad you all enjoyed yourselves at beach cottage. Hope to see you all again soon. Steve and Lynn x Property Owner

  • "Had a really lovely time at the beach cottage with my family."

The only downside was on arrival there was an awful smell when entering the property and in the kitchen area. The owner of the property had rang me a few hours before my arrival to inform me that the previous visits had poured fat down the sink which had caused the smell. We initially didn’t sit in the kitchen dining area because it was so strong however after opening the doors to let some air in we were able to sit and eat dinner at the table without feeling nauseous. Bad smells and heavily pregnant doesn’t mix well! It was a shame as this was the only downside to the property. We had loads of space for all the kids the run around and play and ample room for all 12 of us. Location is great and I would recommend Prestatyn beach a visit as it’s very large and sandy! I would definitely stay again at this property (minus the drainage smell)

Hi zara, It was unfortunate that the previous guests had unknowingly damaged the pipe work behind the sink causing sink water to travel behind the unit. We only knew about this on our arrival to clean clean. This is why we contacted you as there was little time to remove the slight smell which did eventually go on its own. Property Owner

We were 9 adults 1 eight month old baby and 2 dogs and loved the amount of space the cottage provided. The bedrooms are huge. The property is extremely well maintained and simply lovely. Having the whole family cooking in the large, well appointed kitchen and eating family meals together was the best part for me and something that we have all expressed a wish to repeat. The property is totally secure for dogs once the front drive gate is closed with 3 gardens for them to run in. The cottage really is just a few minutes walk to the beach. We met the owner (very friendly and extremely helpful) who was maintaining his other property next door and I believe between the two it's possible to accommodate 23 people. We would not hesitate to return to this property in the future and would recommend it to anyone.
