Anglesey White Haven

House very well suited to our needs.

Bright and spacious. Really good showers. Safe secure garden for dogs and children. Lovely patio area for sitting out. House mainly clean, except for a little snack litter under a sofa cushion. A repair to stair carpet was needed. Due to problems with carpet repairer’s van, this was sorted after 3 days. Madhu the owner was courteous and helpful. Children’s playground is 5 minutes walk away and much appreciated. 10 minutes walk to scenic Menai Bridge town and Hidden Gardens. Location convenient for places of interest on Anglesey.

The house is large and very spacious.

It was clean and comfortable and it had all the necessities needed for our duration. We had a cot bed and highchair already set up for our arrival. Milk, coffee and cereals were a lovely touch and really appreciated . The giant TV screen was brilliant - we enjoyed watching the England football match on this. There was plenty of storage in each room. We were happy with what we got for the price we paid. Things that others need to be aware of: the photo of the bench , over looking the view, is not at the property. You have a lovely view from the front windows (side view) but there is not a view within the back garden. The property is within walking distance to the nearest town (Menai) but to come home, wow- a lot of steep hills! The smell of the air fresher was over powering but we could unplug these. Overall, we would happily return

the cottage was very clean and everything you needed was there . it was very comfortable and plenty of room in a lovely area .we will definatly be booking again .

The location of the property is good.

On entering the property the house was clean, the lounge area was nice and big with comfortable sofas. The kitchen needs to be replaced the worktop is not in a good way around the sink area and the cupboards are in need of updating, the main bin wasn’t working and the kettle leaked. The beds were comfortable. We had extreme rain and windy weather during our stay and it was nice to have full control of the heating. The garden was a nice size for our dogs to use, the path at the back of the house could do with some attention due to it being slippy and uneven with a bit of a drop off which for small children could be dangerous. The side gate needs some attention as the wire mesh was lose and flapping around in the wind. There is a hand written sign at the bottom of the stairs saying no dogs allowed upstairs but this is not mentioned on the information on the Sykes app! The property could do with an information pack.

We had an absolutely lovely week in White Haven.

Very clean and well equipped. Good location for visiting Anglesey, and the property is in a very quiet road, with an enclosed rear garden - so good for children. The plumbing is noisy.

No instructions ( especially for the TV ) or guest book for others to learn (visits /restaurants /takeaways etc ) .

We had an issue with a ant nest ,including flying ants just inside the front door . I phoned the Property Manager (Diane) , no answer and left a message explaining position . I received message asking for photos which were sent after going into Menai Bridge and purchasing ant powder and gel just as the hardware store was shutting .The Property Manager last message said she had sent photos to the property owner but the last message from her I received was on Friday at 16.48pm ? The whole property is in need of some TLC as it is bland and tired . In the ensuite in my view the dropped split ceramic floor is a danger to bare feet. Very disappointing that nobody checked if we had solved the ant issue at any time before our departure ? In addition stagnant water was evident around the bins outside despite the weather still being hot and dry on Friday ? An expensive waste bin in the kitchen has no batteries so you have to lift by hand ?

This was our 4th stay at white haven.

We love the property, we love the location and we will be staying there again later on this year.

Overpowering air fresheners.

Left hand stair rail didn't extend to top of stairs difficult for people with balance problems. Lounge layout awkward for watching t.v. Light and specious comfortable well equipped property.

Spacious property in a quiet cul de sac location.

Warm and comfortable. Easy access and easy to find. Close enough to visit most of Anglesey and the northern Snowdonia mountains as we did. Got stuck in the bathroom and handle/lock in need of repair. Welcome pack on arrival. Pizza cutter could be added to utensils.

Generally it was clean but there were big issues with dust & mold on the blinds in the shower room & cloakroom.

There was evidence of dampness & mold on the paintwork. The fan in the shower room was full of dust. The highly scented plug ins everywhere are not suitable for everyone with allergies so had to turn them off. There was white paint splattered on the chrome ware & various places which could easily have been removed.

Nice large, clean house.

Plenty of room. Coffee machine in kitchen very temperamental… couldn't always get it to work . No instructions for getting fire on when it was chilly. No handbook in house as in most other properties we’ve stated in, with all instructions in. No guest comments book in house-this is helpful as families who’ve stayed have written about house/ where to eat/ what to do etc with recommendations. Would stay again as good location!

Beautiful home from home everything we needed gardens lovely .

.and although in a residential area it was very private and very quiet ..

Property was well equipped with everything we needed.

Comfortable beds and very spacious for six adults, two children and a dog. Tea, coffee biscuits etc were very thoughtful after being stuck in traffic getting onto the island.

Lovely spacious house, and an extremely quiet location.

Well positioned to easily reach anywhere on Anglesey or in Snowdonia. Spotlessly clean and pretty much everything you'd need in the house.

The plumbing needs a complete overhaul, we had a young child with us ( 18 months) and anytime the taps were used in any bathroom or the kitchen the pipes rattled in the walls, not knocked , but rattled, waking her up.

The en suite shower needs a refurb. For a house that slept 8 the amount crockery available was limiting, and the oven only had one shelf, making meals times challenging. On a positive note, the house is huge with plenty of space in each room, and the beds/linen were all a very high standard. Worth noting that although listed as dog friendly, there was a note saying no dogs upstairs or on the furniture, It was ok for us, but some dog owners have their dogs in the same room at night.

We had a lovely stay over the Easter weekend.

The house was perfect! It was clean, spacious, comfortable and suited our needs! The house is in great location for getting around Anglesey and North Wales. The views were amazing! The milk, cereals and biscuits were a nice touch. Thank you.

White Haven is spacious and comfortable, we were a party of 9, 5 adults, 3 children and 1 dog, and there was plenty of room for all of us.

White Haven is very well equipped and cosy, slightly disappointed that the issue with the bath mentioned in other reviews had not been resolved - we managed a makeshift fix with a plastic bag wrapped around the plug! This aside we had a great week.

White haven Was a lovely home and very spacious but also cosy.

Everything that we needed was there for us. It’s on a nice quiet street and made a great base for exploring the rest of Anglesey. Only issue was the TV didn’t work apart from Netflix which we had to solve ourselves by going out and getting an indoor Ariel which solved the problem and was able to watch TV all week There is also no welcome visitors book which would have been a great addition to see what people did and found in the area and also no guide as to what to do at the end of the stay such as what to do with the bedding and towels. Overall it was a great house comfy beds and powerful showers and the addition of the dryer after a long wet walk was a great plus. Would definitely go back

Third year we have been here just needs some upgrade.

Great area to visit the island.

The property unfortunately is very dated and needs a lot of maintenance doing, the taps on the bath are not fitted correctly, the bath empties while your in it ( without letting the water out yourself) the fan in bathroom dropped from the ceiling so we pushed it back in, the radiator valve in ensuite was on the floor upon arrival, the tap in ensuite takes ages to give hot water and it also leaks, the tap in downstairs toilet throws water down you and misses the sink bowl if you lift leaver to much, the rubber seal on washing machine is black with mold I tried to clean it off before using it, also we couldn't get any normal Freeview TV due to signal, I had contacted the owner with some of the above issues on the day we arrived but more issues were noticed during our stay.

On a plus note, the beds were comfy and we didn't let the above problems spoil our stay, although the weather was awful all week, if the property was updated and maintenance sorted we would come back again as it could be a lovely home.

The property was pretty much as described and full filled our needs, yes it could do with some updating in some places but everything worked and the enclosed rear garden is excellent for dog owner’s, Property is well located for easy reach to all local amenities, Would I recommend it yes.

The property is in an excellent position to explore both Anglesey and the Snowdonia National Park.

The house itself is equipped with good quality appliances, crockery and cutlery and the showers are excellent - we had great holiday

Great house apart from terribly creaky floorboards.

I would change the baking tins that go in the oven as all flaking and doesn't look good. Apart from that....we loved our stay. The ad could be changed to show that there are 2 single beds in the small room even tho very close as I stopped a friend from coming thinking it was a pull out bed from underneath the single. Great house. Loved the spacious living room. Beds comfy. Thankyou

Nice house but a bit dated inside no information sheets to tell you how things work ie gas fire central heating Heating didn’t stay on.

So cold at times ..Bathroom shower tap leaked when having bath and bath kept drawing away .on suite black mould in shower needed a good clean beds very uncomfortable …

Clean and tidy 2 new settee since last visit from my point of view the remaining recliner was great.

The weather was great the views from front bed room of snowdonia were out standing plenty of things to do and the gardener told us about 2 hidden beaches

A comfortable home, well placed for exploring Anglesey.

Furnishing a little tired but understandable in a rental. Enclosed garden safe for our dog. The local shop poorly stocked ,large supermarket inBangor and a lovely Waitrose in Menai. That said we did not really self cater but ate out . So Many dog friendly pubs, cafes and restaurants. Worth a special mention The pier house in Beaumaris, the oystercatcher out side Rhosneiger and Dylan’s at Menai, but we didn’t have a poor meal anywhere. Lovely walks and beaches, even those with dog restrictions had large unrestricted areas. It would be good to have a visitor book within the house with useful local numbers and which visitors could add recommendations.

On entering the house was clean tidy and welcoming.

Overall quite comfortable some furniture coming to end of life. Lovely patio table chairs and barbeque. We had a nice Holliday and will be back in 6 weeks

Had a great stay at Whitehaven.

Nice quiet area. House needs a bit of updating but was clean, has loads of space and is really well equipped and comfortable. Enclosed garden was great for our two dogs and plenty of walks locally. Great base to visit the rest of Angelsey. Would stay again.

Great place to stay.

Neighborhood quiet. Plenty of parking. Lots of space in common spaces of house. We had 4 adults and 4 children and had plenty of space. Beds comfortable. Tastefully decorated. nice garden, with an outside table. Would love to stay here again. Owner very responsive. Easy arrival and departure instructions.

Great location and view of snowdonia from bedrooms.

Enclosed secure garden. Large living room for big families. Separate dining room with doors onto the garden. Small things let the house down such as curtain pole in lounge not securely fixed so would come down unless you carefully open and close. Pop up Plug in bath not secure - slowly let's water out during bath. Gas fire didn't work. Light bulbs that didn't work. Travel cot wouldn't go up fully (one side broken - I have the same model at home). Arrived after a cold spell in April - to a stone cold house - heating could have been put on in advance. Old fashioned (70's/80's style) and slightly tired fixtures and fittings. Ants in the house. Saying that though we did have a thoroughly enjoyable stay - they were niggly problems that could easily be fixed! (wouldn't put us off returning as the size and location were spot on)

A lovely week in a beautiful area.

Property was as described and very clean. Kitchen well equipped. Our dogs appreciated the secure garden and it was a delight to see newborn lambs in the adjoining field.

Lovely and warm, we didn’t have to touch the heating.

Does need a touch up with paint and damp patches in wardrobe and bathroom. (It is a holiday let though!) Floorboards are on the noisy side and probably could do with being sorted at some point as some guests may have an issue with it. Other than that, nice size house and beds, lovely powerful shower and great tv in front room, didn’t use the tv in the twin bed room. Fantastic view from the garden, perfect for summer nights. Quite cul de sac. The pub in walking distance is now closed so may need to update the listing details. It’s in a lovely area and some nice walks around but do need car to get further afield. Would definitely recommend Four Crosses inn for food a short drive away, the boys loved the big burger, may be £15 but all raved about it and wanted another before we left. Thanks for a lovely stay. May not return but that’s because we tend to head to different areas, if we did come back would like to visit the Hidden Gardens near Menai Bridge. February just not the best time of year for that. Thanks again to a great host, who provided a little tray of treats you bar forget.

The house was perfect, just as described.

It was very clean and well cared for with lovely bathrooms, everything you could possible need including a huge TV (appreciated as it is winter), close to Menai with its many restraunts. I would definitely recommend

The house is in a brilliant location to explore Anglesey and North Wales.

The house is dated so could do with updating, the shower and taps in the main bathroom need attention and the curtains in the 2nd double bedroom are inadequate - too small and let too much light in

When we arrived the house was lovely and clean inside.

We were left a welcome gift by the owners which was very nice. There is a lovely big living space and a huge dining table which was great for family dining and games. The bedrooms were lovely with stunning views of Snowdonia to the front. The drawbacks of the house are that every single floorboard upstairs creaks. It was impossible to go to the bathroom in the night without waking someone up. The plumbing was really loud in the back bedrooms. The garden could be so much better. The grass was long with overgrown bushes. There was a patio of sorts which could have been a really lovely feature if only it was clean, had the loose flags fixed and had decent seating. There was a barbeque in the garage but it was filthy dirty and unusable. This is a lovely house which could be so much better with a few improvements made.

The property was excellent would strongly recommend, it was very Central to everywhere we wanted to go and having a dog the enclosed garden is excellent and not over looked the house caters for all families

The property was lovely, but it was let down by a few issues the dining room chair seats were very badly stained we put towels on them to sit on.

There were cob webs on the ceilings and in corners. The mirror in the second double room is so low we had to sit on floor to dry hair and put make up on. The rooms were generally clean, but could be better. The property was well equipped.

A beautiful house in a great location, spacious clean and comfortable with everything neccassary for a relaxing break.

Despite a few initial teething problems (Sky TV remote was not working, power tripped once and internet stopped working on the last day), we had a fabulous time and the accommodation was exellent.

The property is very large and comfortable and the bedrooms and bathrooms were clean, well presented and as described. One very minor thing was in the main bedroom it seemed like the floorboards were loose or broken at the end of the bed, and it seems others have experienced this too. It never really bothered us too much (we just placed the dressing table stool over it) but it's something to look out for if you're not too good on your feet. Hayley who manages the property on behalf of the owner was fabulous and nothing was too much trouble when we had any issues. She came over once to switch the power back on after an extension lead blew and tripped it. And then returned the following day to bring us a brand new Sky TV remote, as the old one wasn't working. Very friendly, very helpful and a genuinely lovely person. All in all we had a fantastic time and enjoyed the stay at Anglesey White Haven and would definitely (and will definitely) return for another visit soon. Highly recommended!

Ideal house.

The standard of cottages via Sykes has always been extremely high in the past, which is why I use you to book.

This experience has put me off totally. We usually book around three cottages a year. My impression based on the description was a village location with nearby facilities, this was not the case. The pub was closed down and there was a shop around the corner but that was it. The main disturbance was the lack of cleanliness. Especially the kitchen, I had to clean cupboards and pans, inside drawers before I would use. The kitchen was generally very poor quality and grubby. The saucepans and knives were however very good quality. The bathrooms were good and clean, bedding clean and towels clean, otherwise we would not have stayed. The gardens had not been maintained. The quality of the house generally apart from bathrooms was pretty poor. Loads of very creaky floorboards and stairs and non fitting doors and very noisy plumbing/pipes. This might not seem a big thing or hard to fix easily but, especially with three people in their 80’s in the house having to use toilets at night, it meant my dogs could not settle and I suffered from lack of sleep having to stay on the sofa for part of the night and being up from 6am on what was meant to be a holiday. My dogs have never had problems settling in other properties, sleep in cages and sleep perfectly at home. The views from the property are stunning and the location is great with plenty of access to nearby attractions. Normally cottages have exceeded my expectations, with lovely comfort and additional touches this one unfortunately went in the opposite direction.

We enjoyed are holiday lovely and clean could do with hand rail on top half of staircase especially for older people and water pipes can be noisy sometimes would book again especially if hand rail is fitted on stairs as 3 of are group are in there eighties and nineties good location and plenty to do rain or shine

Really good location and property for exploring Anglesey.

House was very spacious and clean. Cot bed was set up as requested which was great. Couple of small things which the owner might think about - oven gloves/extra tea towels in the kitchen would have really helped, as well as maybe some cooking oil, salt/pepper etc. Also maybe the availability of a stair gate for the bottom of the stairs. Really good week with the extended family.

Great location and views. The welcome basket was lovely as you dont always get that. Unfortunately we have to agree with other guests reviews that the floor boards and water pipework extremely noisy and wake you in the night.

Very quiet location, with good road access to the surrounding area.

Attractive and spacious property with good family layout. A slightly odd feature was noisy pipes but we quickly got used to this. We would recommend this property.

The central heating was a bit difficult to control in that the radiators often went off completely for longish periods even though the temperature hadn't reached what was set on the thermostat.

Having said that, the house was warm enough apart from the first evening when it felt a little cold. Also more explanation of how to dispose of rubbish might have helped as all bins were full when we arrived due to the previous occupants having put the wrong items in the different recycling boxes.

Really enjoyed our stay.

The acommodation was just what we wanted, clean, tidy and spacious. Central heating was very good, even too hot at times! Location was ideal for Anglesey and not to far from main land Wales. Will be using this house in the future. Thanks.

New bathrooms in this property I read the reviews and the owner takes on board what is said as a blind had been put up on landing and more casserole dishes in the cupboard .

Pen mon is we're the monks monastery is and worth a look . Puffin island is also near .asda lidl are in the nearby towns. Fishing in the the swells and bait can be got at Malcolm's .

Its a hard one just like the beds,i know its a personal thing and everyone is different but we had 2 friends stay with me and the wife on the Friday and Saturday and they said the same and even tried moving to another bed and it was the same,we then had 2 family members come from the Sunday to the Friday so no more than 4 adults in the house at any time and again they said the same that the beds are really hard.

As for the house itself it was great nice big seating room plenty of space, lovely views looking over snowdonia,dining room nice big table right next to the kitchen which also is big and very well stocked with pots pans cutlery and china and glassware the only let down was no coffee machine or cafeteria so had to go out and buy one.a nice surprise was the starter pack which was milk,orange juice ,biscuits, kitchen roll and a multi pack of breakfast cereals. There was also 2 toilet rolls in every bath room and clean tabs for the dishwasher and the washing machine aswell. I would recommend this place as it was a very nice stay ,really clean and tidy ,but i would just let people know how hard the beds are

Cottage was lovely and very big and the owner made us very welcome.

Not a lot to do on Anglesey with dogs, no beach within walking distance but very beautiful non the less

As near a perfect cottage as we could have wished for, we had a slight trouble with the heating but the cottage manager, Hayley soon sorted that for us!

This is a great base location for exploring the lovely island of Anglesey and also the gorgeous North West Wales mainland.

Sykes met our expectations but we were less pleased with the house for the price we paid.

The house had the facilities we needed, but was so sparsely decorated it did not feel cosy at all. It felt like your house on the morning you are moving house! The house was superficially clean, but was dirty in places you would not reach on a ‘quick’ clean - inside kitchen cupboards, under the recliner chairs, under the sofa, the lower bed frame of the children’s stacking beds were all dirty. Also for the price we paid I was disappointed that various basic things were broken - the kitchen tap sprays from the wrong place, the main bathroom sink plug was stuck in, the children’s bedroom main light was broken, several bulbs were gone in various rooms. We will not be returning to this house!

A lovely holiday had by all.

A pleasant, quiet housing estate. A small local shop is within a few minutes walk and proved useful. The house was as expected, although the plumbing was very noisy! Every time we turned off a tap the pipes shook and vibrated. A slight problem at night with young children sleeping. Also the room with the trundle bed was small. With the trundle bed in use the bedroom door did not open fully and you can only get into one side of the wardrobe! Maybe this should be a single room? We switched round the children's sleeping arrangements to use it as a single. The pictures on the website led us to believe that the garden had a view of the Menai straits, it doesn't, just so future users know.

The cottage is in a great location to explore the island.

It is in a residential area & the nearby pub is basically a run down social club. The cottage was lovely, well equipped & plenty of room for the family. We really enjoyed our stay & found dealing with the owner very easy & pleasant.

We had a lovely holiday with better than expected weather.

We would have appreciated instructions regarding recycling and equipment for example fire and heating. Plenty of crockery, glasses and saucepans (for two) but we missed a measuring jug, casseroles with ovenproof lids and kitchen scales would have been nice. As we do all our own cooking theses things are important to us. It was spacious, clean and quiet and well located for visiting all the sights. Thank you for the welcome pack.

This was a beautifully presented, very welcoming cottage.

We have just had a fab 4 night (over new year) stay at Anglesey White Haven.

The house is very spacious, clean and has everything you require. Couldn’t fault anything with the house it is lovely. It is about a 30 minute walk into the small town of Menai Bridge, but beware the walk back is up a very steep hill.

A really nice big 4 bed house ideal for a family & good location on Anglesey.

The bedrooms are very comfortable & showers are fab. The kitchen could do with a few more items e.g.teapot, more cutlery & plates.
