  • "Our second visit."

Beautifully located just across from the beach, with fabulous views and beautiful evening skies. Ideal for family holidays - spacious and comfortable with everything we needed to enjoy an excellent holiday. Llandudno also has plenty to offer. This house is on the much quieter west parade, which suited us perfectly.

  • "Lovely, spacious house with plenty of kitchen equipment."

Plenty of off road parking and front and rear gardens with garden furniture to enjoy the sunshine. Upstairs decor perhaps a little dated but lovely to sit on the bedroom chairs in the bay windows and enjoy the view of the sea, beach and mountains. Owner was very accommodating and helpful. Boiler had a little drip and there seemed to be a lot of moths in the house.

  • "Absolutely stunning property, very homely, spacious and such a fantastic position on the seafront."

Everything was in great working order and we have no complaints whatsoever. We never tired of the view and loved watching the tides changing and the sea mist rolling in offshore. The weather was very kind to us too, just perfect for our 2 year old grandsons first holiday. We do have one suggestion and that is regarding the duvet in the bunkbeds - the tog rating was very high and given the house is quite warm even without heating, a lower tog rating would be more comfortable.

3 generations from same family all under one roof and all thoroughly enjoyed but what is there not to love. Inside the house is spacious, clean, well equipped and warm. From inside the views out over the beach, the sea, the mountains are dramatic. Many reviews echo what we say so I'll just mention some worthwhile places to visit. OUTDOORS 1) The outdoor centre approached from road beyond the pier- great toboggan ride for all the family. 2) Aber Falls 3) Bodnant Gardens (National Trust) - lovely walks even if not a keen gardener.EATING 1) Romeos (Italian) in Llandudno centre 2) The Palladium (Wetherspoons) but actually quite good. 3) Pen Y- Bryn in Colwyn Bay (Brunning and Price chain.) We will be back - children can't wait.

The house was perfect, it was spacious, clean, and comfortable. And a fantastic location! The view from the house is stunning, a really beautiful place for a holiday. It was so easy to visit the beach with the kids and not too far from other attractions such as the pier and the great orme. There's a café one minute down the road and in the other direction there is a coffee van parked next the beach. We also enjoyed the miniature railway behind the café.

A lovely spacious home for the week, in a great location. So much to do in the area with beautiful surroundings and amazing views all round. The cottage itself was even bigger and more spacious than we expected. So comfortable and homely, it made it easy to settle in. Seating areas outside were great and the hose for washing your feet off after time on the beach was a great idea. Inside gave us all ( 3 generations ) plenty of space to all be together or do our own thing. The views from all front windows was fabulous. The beds were probably the most comfortable we've ever had on our trips to Wales and the duvets were super soft. Not noisy and crispy like some we've experienced. We loved it here so much that we didn't want to go home and booked it again for next year. Looking forward to it already

Thank you very much indeed for your long and comprehensive review; it is greatly appreciated and we’re so glad you enjoyed yourselves. Looking forward to your revisit! Best wishes. Property Owner

A wonderful position opposite the beach on the quieter side of town yet within easy walking distance of the main town and pier. A very good choice.

  • "Westbourne is a large, comfortable and spacious property in a quiet residential area of Llandudno, overlooking the West Shore beach."

The property has a homely feel, complete with a porch, large hallway, lounge and separate dining room. The kitchen, breakfast room and utility room provide all the equipment you need. We only made use of three of the four bedrooms, each one was spacious and comfortable, two of which had great views at the front. Both bathrooms (one en-suite) were clean and spacious and there was a separate downstairs toilet as well. The TV in the lounge is good and the Wi-Fi is strong throughout the property. We were lucky enough to have great weather, so thankfully we didn’t spend too much time making use of either facility and spent most of our time exploring the area. Communication received from the property owner was both appropriate and useful. If walking is your thing, this property is ideally located for walking around the quiet side of the Great Orme, it’s also a great starting point for a walk into Conwy. For a shorter walk to the beach, it’s just a matter of yards away… The town centre shops, bars and restaurants are a flat 15 minute walk away and the North beach is a further 5 minutes. Close by, there is a nice bar/restaurant just up the road, together with a convenience store and (excellent) Chinese takeaway a short walk away. Westbourne is a great place to stay for a relaxing holiday, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and will definitely return.

We had a very enjoyable stay. Minor points: Dishwasher not efficient when large plates inside. Single beds a bit creaky and not the most comfy for adults but this would not stop a repeat visit. Some upstairs areas could do with a little decor updating but kitchen & bathroom were fairly modern. Owner kept in touch and was helpful when needed. Would definitely recommend.

However, as we were facing the sea and the direct force of the wind it was a little drafty in places. We had a lovely family break for a birthday celebration and the dining room was big enough for extra family members to join us for a meal. Visited the prom, swimming baths, Colwyn Bay Zoo, Penrhyn Castle, Aber Falls, the great Orme so very well located for a family break. The main issue it seems, is the rubbish collection. An extra weekly collection has been arranged by the owner but you can’t put the bins out in a gale force wind…..

Thank you very much for your feedback and we are glad you had a lovely family break. I am, however, puzzled with regards to your comment about the main issue being the rubbish collection. As you rightly state, we have arranged a weekly refuse collections from a private company which is carried out every Friday, as well as having recycling boxes collected on a weekly basis by Conwy County Council. The weather, unfortunately, is something out of my control and I can only apologise that it was too windy for you. Property Owner

The marks would have been higher except for the fact that there was a major issue with the disposal of general rubbish and recycling. On arrival the general waste bin at the back of the house was overflowing and I had to empty some out just to be able to shut the lid. Also the 3 recycling bins which should be collected on Thursday were also full! The owner suggested transporting waste to the public bins along the road which is what I did. (These public bins have a letter-box style opening in order to deter bags of waste being put in I assume.) I understand that Conwy Council only collect general waste every 4 weeks and I assume that the previous guests had not put the recycling bins out the day before we arrived, but surely the cleaners and owner between them should ensure that these various bins have sufficient room for newly arrived guests.

Many thanks for taking the time to review my property and I'm pleased you were happy with the accommodation and location of the house as well as being delighted that you enjoyed your family get together and holiday. Once again, I should like to apologise with regards to the problem of rubbish and collection/disposal. As I mentioned to you in my welcome correspondence, there was an issue with bins and I do rely on the goodwill of my guests to correctly dispose of their rubbish at the end of each stay, and indeed always make a point of telling them the days the bins must be left out and exactly which bins as stipulated by Conwy County Council. Unfortunately the previous guests didn't adhere to this request and therefore the situation arose whereby the bins were full. My changeover lady leaves the house in an impeccable condition and (although it isn't in her job description) had also kindly disposed of some rubbish herself. Unfortunately I do not live in the vicinity, so cannot help. To rectify this situation if it should reoccur, I have now signed a contract with a commercial bin provider which will be arriving this week and this should resolve any issues. Best wishes. The location is simply perfect - right on the seafront, a short stroll into town or alternatively along the coast to Deganwy and The Orme. For anyone who may be less mobile, there is no better spot to watch the world go by, and soak in the views towards Penmaenmawr and along the coast, over to Anglesey - take your binoculars if you have them! The house has some wonderful period features and rooms are comfortable, spacious and tastefully decorated. The kitchen is particularly well equipped, with ample storage space, built in appliances (dishwasher and fridge) and a useful utility room with additional fridge/freezer space. The range cooker is great for rustling up feasts in the evening or hearty weekend cooked breakfasts. The private parking was a godsend given the great weather we enjoyed and the influx of day trippers parking on the seafront also taking advantage of the sunshine. The rear garden is a real sun trap and the outdoor furniture provided was of good quality. The owner was exceptionally helpful and friendly and the welcome pack was a lovely touch. The owner phoned me to ask how we found everything as we were her first holiday let I said the only thing not up to scratch is the family bathroom shower needs replacing and carpet not suitable and toilet would be good apart from that it was very good The house had very large rooms they were nicely decorated and furnishing were very good quality the kitchen had everything in it you needed and the small back garden lovely to sit in the house itself is in a ideal spot I would not hesitate to book again and next time bring the family it was a lovely break after an awful year made better by the quality of the house

Thank you out for taking the time to leave a review for Westbourne. Your useful comments have been noted and we are delighted you had a lovely week. Best wishes. Property Owner

About the location

LLANDUDNO

Conwy 4 miles, Colwyn Bay 6 miles, Snowdonia 20 miles.

Llandudno lies between two headlands, the Great Orme and the Little Orme and it is these headlands, and the town's two waterfronts, that give this tourist resort its special appeal. The town offers two superb beaches - the North Shore, with its wide promenade backed by an imposing crescent of Victorian hotels and the quieter West Shore with miles of sandy shoreline backed by sand dunes and superb views towards Anglesey. For the best views, however, you can reach the summit of the 679ft Great Orme using either the Great Orme Tramway or by taking an exciting cable car ride of over a mile. The town has an excellent selection of shops, pubs, restaurants and cafés, as well as Venue Cymru, which is North Wales' premier theatrical stage for opera, ballet, musicals, comedy and visiting orchestras, boasting a programme that is second to none - all this is just a stone's throw from the promenade. Just 4 miles away is the town of Conwy - a designated World Heritage Site. A true medieval gem, Conwy is dominated by a splendid castle and completely enclosed by its well-preserved town walls. Discover miles of sandy beaches along the North Wales coast and excellent walking and climbing in the Snowdonia National Park just 20 minutes' drive away - there's plenty to see and do!
