  • "Bev and Phillip are great hosts, being welcoming and attentive."

The accommodation is comfortable and well equipped. The outside space is excellent and dog friendly. A good location for exploring the local area and the rest of North Wales. We would have no hesitation in returning in the future.

  • "Lovely & warm and very comfortable indeed - just what we needed."

Some lovely touches - the chocolates and the dog treats. Only comment is that maybe it would be good to note somewhere on the listing that the accommodation is linked to host’s house and is underneath rooms in the host’s house? It may be an issue for some guests. We did feel a little like we had to keep our voices low and we’re concerned when our anxious dog (our fault as she is a lockdown pup and hasn’t travelled much!) barked at night!

There is no issue for noise as the rooms above are not used at night and only occasionally in the daytime. We don’t worry about barking dogs anyway. Property Owner

Spotless. Very warm. Had everything you could think of provided - even sweets. Bev and Phil were very welcoming, informative and friendly. Enjoyed our stay very much. Would highly recommend to everyone.

  • "Beautiful place."

I am disabled and could get around everywhere with walker or manual wheelchair. Lip into shower but fits shower chair in. Probably wouldn't be suitable for an electric wheelchair though. Great hosts - Bev and Phil gave us a really warm welcome and were on site for anything we needed. Gorgeous spot where we could walk dogs from door but there are also walks further away though we didn't explore them this time as we only had a short stay. We have already booked to return next year for a week. Highly recommended - we and our two dogs all loved it and there is a fenced garden for dogs to play in.

  • "Absolutely beautiful cottage, Owners Bev & Phil are the perfect hosts and really friendly and helpful."

Spent a week here with our two dogs who loved the garden and the nearby wood for walks. We visited Conwy, Bala, Betwys-y-Coed, Alwen Resevoir & Llangollen and the weather was fab all week. The cottage is impeccably clean and tastefully decorated, but still very comfortable as is the enormous bed. Would not hesitate to recommend Dystill for those looking for a quiet, chilled break while near enough to see a lot of North Wales

The accommodation was spotlessly clean and warm. Everything was provided you could wish for. For us in particular being able to take our two collies and have total use of the beautiful garden, they paddled in the stream, and ran in the garden beyond. Even doggy towels and bags were provided. Our hosts were so kind and friendly it really made our holiday. Thank you.

The rooms are a generous size, everything was supplied, right down to condiments- and our hosts Bev and Phil were nearby and happy to share their stunning garden with us - a real plus! It's hard to choose which of our Sykes cottages we've liked best, but this is at the top of our list....we'll be back.

  • "Distyll is a wonderful bolt hole."

The holiday let annex is attached to an old, well renovated mill. It nestles in a valley surrounded by fields and woodlands, in the village of Llanfwrog, near Ruthin. The owners live in the main part and are perfect hosts; friendly but not interfering. The cottage is lovely and warm, spacious and very well equipped. We particularly enjoyed sitting eating our breakfast, whilst looking out of the kitchen window onto the garden with its babbling brook and weeping willow. We have already recommended this lovely cottage to family and friends, despite only arriving home 2 days ago. We would also be very happy to return.

1 mile of single track road with very few passing places, luckily, it is not very busy . There is no DAB signal, and very week phone signal. Wi fi is only in the lounge, but having said all that, this is an ideal place for a quiet get away from it all break, with excellent hosts.

  • "We had a wonderful weeks stay at Dystil."

Both Bev and Phil were very welcoming. Were there if needed. The facilities were excellent and with underfloor heating we were never cold. I would recommend this cottage it is a real home from home. So relaxing. Very comfortable bed. We were very lucky with the weather for October. Only had one rainy day. We went to Tweedmill shopping outlet. A lovely place. The scenery is stunning and the roads fairly quiet. Most places are no more than 1 hours drive away making it an excellent base for sight seeing etc. Mobile phone signal is limited but we did manage to get an internet connection. As the cottage is on a country road it was pitch black at night so a strong torch may be a good idea. Would definitely return.
