“Very relaxing place to stay”
Found this quite easily as there was a sign post at the top of the "track" down to the cottages.
I've put track instead of road as my satnav didn't have this as a road, it's single width and there's a little concrete but mainly compacted dirt.
There were two Danish pastries on our arrival, these came every week :)
We found the kitchen very well equipped for us.
Booked through Sykes cottages and the total charge for 4 weeks stay was £1223, so £305.75 per week.
The double bed was very comfortable and so was the adult bunk bed.
It's extremely quiet here.
There was a problem in the first week with the hot water, which meant a couple of days with lukewarm showers - the owner of the cottages was very helpful and quickly called a plumber out who sorted the problem out completely.
The shower worked very well, there was a very good supply of water coming out.
The heating is radiators and worked very well.
The seating is very comfortable, a 3 seater sofa and an armchair.
There is a TV - don't switch the plug off for this or you will have a problem - I had to set it back to factory defaults to be able to watch it again, found this out on the internet, apparently this is a Sony TV problem!
Also had a problem with making and receiving phone calls on our mobiles. I'm with 3 - that didn't work, talked to someone else in another cottage who said they were with Vodaphone and their phone worked ok so had to go and buy another mobile with Vodaphone PAYG for our stay to have a phone to use.
There are no phone lines in the cottage, so this could be a problem in the event of an emergency if peoples phones don't work.
There are lovely thick carpets here, except for the bathroom and kitchen areas where there is wooden tile effect flooring.
Once a week our bedding was changed for us. The bedding was very nice.
There is one shop which is 10 minutes drive away which has basic essentials, bread, milk etc.
Went once to the nearby pub, personally I found this place a bit of a dive and didn't stay for anything!
There are lots of sheep around the area and it's good for walking dogs, ours is well behaved around sheep - he's been trained not to chase other animals or birds!
There is no light pollution around the cottages, so excellent for seeing the night stars and taking photographs.
Would definitely recommend staying in this lovely cottage.
