  • "What an amazing find!"

Beautiful tranquil location and amazing views. A wide variety of walks on the doors step, with something new to discover everyday. Perfect for you & your dog! The cottage is well layed out, with plenty of extra equipment provided in the kitchen area for self catering. The beds are really comfortable. A real home from home. The wet room shower is wonderful. The cottage is very clean and tidy as are the grounds too Julie and David (the hosts) are really friendly and on hand to help with any requests, but are not intrusive in anyway on your stay. We re-booked another stay after only the first day of our wonderful week here. That says it all really! It was all we could wish for in a little break from it all. Just perfect.

Thank you so much for your lovely comments. We are glad you enjoyed your stay & look forward to seeing you again. Property Owner

The kitchen was equipped with all the essentials and there was plenty of bedding provided. The whole experience had been thought through and catered for. Owners were so friendly and fun, gave good advice on walks, day trips and eatery's. Meadow view is a beautiful, relaxing and loved cottage, plenty of space for our party of 4 adults and 2 children. Would highly recommend and planning on coming back and renting the adjoining cottage aswel!!

  • "Very misleading information by Skyes as to this holiday home, it states that it is located in the owners grounds, when in fact it is a small extension attached to the owners own home."

The bedroom walls are so thin you can hear conversations both from the owners & their family, plus the 2nd rental next door with connecting lounge door. We only stayed one night, something we have never done before, and we have rented cottages for over 30 years. We left due to the due to the constant noise, banging and drilling, as well as the unkept conditions in the garden with multiple discarded cigarette ends and mess, the furniture has definitely seen better days, it’s very old and lots of dirt with discarded plastic bottle tops down the side of the couch. The bottom of the cooker is really dirty & dusty, clearly this holiday let needs a deep clean. They advertise beautiful views of fields and meadows, but make no mention of the fact they have built a large building directly next to the holiday let, which you can see from the lounge and garden. The gardens that are available are covered in children’s little windmills all across the grass areas, these we were advised were to try frighten the multiple Moles that are there, with many many earth mounds to evidence this. We have taken multiple photographs which have been submitted as evidence to the trade bodies. We would absolutely not recommend this property.

Fully accessible for my elderly Mum in law, with all home comforts provided, it's cosy and warm with lovely views. Plenty of walks and footpaths right from the door to explore the local area. Dave and Julie (owners) were warm and welcoming and dealt with any queries we had quickly. Would highly recommend Alyn Cottages for a peaceful break away in the North Wales countryside.

  • "A warm welcome awaited us at the cottage and it was the post lockdown escape we all needed."

Tucked away surrounded by fantastic woodland walks but still only a few minutes drive to the town, this was perfect for our young family and puppy. We were still able to keep ourselves to ourselves with click and collect available at the nearby Aldi. The cottage was fully equipped with everything that we needed. Plenty of outdoors activities within a 20-30 minute drive with even more to explore. We are so lucky to have found this gem of a cottage and we had a brilliant week. Thank you

  • "We had just relocated to the UK and our hosts David and Julie welcomed us like old friends, albeit with the correct social distancing protocols, going above and beyond to help us get settled under very trying lockdown conditions and embarrassed us with their generosity."

They're outstanding human beings with a wealth of local knowledge. The cottage is well appointed, warm, very clean and wonderfully cozy, especially with the wood burning stove. It has everything you need or could ask for. The myriad mountain hikes with breathtaking views and forest walks with foxes, rabbits and squirrels are a delightful diversion and make it a perfect place to unwind. We've had a fantastic stay at this wonderful cottage and highly recommend it as a home away from home.

The property was as described and had everything you could want. The log burning fire was a bonus on a chilly evening. As well as listed in the description was an iron and ironing board, hair dryer and loads of wardrobe and drawer space . The scenes from the small patio area were stunning. The patio had a round wooden table , bench and built in bbq. The owners Dave and Julie were really friendly, helpful and didn’t intrude. A highly recommended property that we will definitely be returning to.

It was a great place to get away from it all in the quiet hills of North Wales. It was so peaceful and had great walks straight from the cottage. Our dog loved the place too and was happy to have other dogs to play with. Namely Julie and David's three dogs! There was everything you needed in the cottage including wifi and a tv in each room. Mold was just a short drive away for anything that you need to get and there were a few pubs within walking distance or a few minutes drive. The hosts were very welcoming and were happy to give advice about the local area plus they provided a basket of goodies should you arrive without supplies. The fresh flowers were also a nice touch. There was a private seating area outside the cottage which was a nice place to spend a pleasant evening watching the sun setting and listening to the odd owl or two.

The cottages are in a quiet little spot, but have easy access to the main road. Plenty of local pubs and cafes within easy reach. Easy access onto the local footpaths too. It seems a new house is being built practically on top of the cottage we were staying. This meant the kids couldn't really play outside since it wasn't safe We also had a terrible problem with flies. No matter what we did the house was always filled with flies. This really bothered our young children and made the nights unpleasant. I've never had a problem with sykes cottages before, but this has really made me doubt if I can trust what's being shown.
