Cwm Caeth Cottage

We really enjoyed our stay at Cwm Caeth.

It was the perfect base for visiting the surrounding area. The cottage was clean, comfortable and in very peaceful surroundings, with beautiful views. Our hosts were friendly and welcoming and keen to ensure that we had everything we needed, without being intrusive in any way. We would definitely recommend it.

Well informed regarding directions and getting into the place.

Friendly welcome from the owners who didn't bother us too much unless we had an issue. Great location for peace and quiet which we wanted. Well equipped place that suited our needs such as utensils and toiletries. Guides available on walks nearby. Much needed WiFi that worked consistently as there was no network. Useful guest information on the local area. We had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay that made us feel at home and would definitely come back. Would only mention slight squeak from the bed when making slight movements. Thanks Lucy and Richard! X

Beautiful cottage in an idlyic location overlooking moorlands and mountains.

The cottage was very clean and well equipped with everything we needed and more! Our hosts were very friendly and welcoming. A great location for visiting the mountains, castles and beautiful beaches in the area. We highly recommend this cottage. Thank you!

If you want peace and quiet with wonderful scenery this is the place for you.

The accommodation is well appointed and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. I can't recommend it highly enough, I'm sure we will visit again.

Loved it here, ideal location for us as we enjoy peace and quiet.

So clean and comfortable. Wonderful area for walking and as a photographer there are many landscape opportunities. Such a shame the Ffestiniog train not running in February. We like Wales a lot and find the people friendly and helpful....in fact on our 2nd day whilst waiting for bus to Porthmadog we were given a car ride by a lovely couple in Nantmor. If eating out in Beddgelert don't hesitate to go to The Saracens Head.

It was home away from home,we were made feel very welcome,we will definitely be going back to stay,thank you our hosts.

It had everything we needed. It was very clean. The surrounding area is gorgeous to look at as you sit and have your morning or evening coffee. If you like birds then this is an ideal place. Very well appointed, spotlessly clean, and with everything there that you might ever need for a holiday. The owners are so friendly and helpful, always keen to ensure you have what you need, and that you are happy with everything. They are there for you if necessary, but otherwise just let you get on with your holiday. Definitely a place to return to!

We were really made welcome by the hosts, thank you very much! It is in a lovely part of Wales and very accessible to Porthmadog and beautiful Beddgelert. Highly recommended for a relaxing break.

Cwm Caeth is the perfect holiday destination and is highly recommended.

The owners, Lucy and Richard, are incredibly friendly and helpful and live on site and are readily availble if you need anything. The cottage is very comfortable and exceptionally well prepared and equipped with some nice "extras" - especially emergency tolietries in case something has been forgotten. The Welsh cakes and tea were also appreciated. The situation is just sensational. So quiet with a lovely small garden with chairs and table to enjoy either eating out or a glass or three of wine in the evening looking across the fields towards the mountains. Snowdon is almost on the doorstep and there are good shops and supermarkets in Porthmadoc, just a 10 minute drive away. This was our second visit - it will not be our last!

If you want to stay in a 'Proper Cottage' in a truly isolated location with every conceivable convenience and comfort well beyond the absolutely necessary then Cwm Caeth Cottage is for you.

Hosts are extremely personable, welcoming and caring. Our second visit to the cottage and if fortune provides, we will definitely return. Slightly pricey compared to others, but really well worth the extra.

The cottage was very cosy and clean throughout and all amenities were provided. The cottage is also situated in a beautiful picturesque location and in very close proximity to various attractions and walks. We would highly recommend!

Very, very clean, comfortable, well equipped. Good Wi-Fi (no mobile signal like all the area), shower. Great bed, TV (FreeSat), sofa, cooker. Lots of really thoughtful touches that I've never had before. Friendly owners. Plenty of parking in a very quiet location. Beddgelert only max 5 mins drive away. I liked it a lot!

The cottage was immaculate when we arrived with a few goodies and starters thrown in. We were most impressed that so many toiletries were provided. A fabulous location with wonderful views. The cottage really did have everything we needed and was wonderfully comfortable. A great base. We wish we could have stayed longer.

Extremely comfortable bed and lounge area. We were made really welcome by the hosts on arrival. This cottage has a lovely atmosphere. We were especially grateful for the thoughtful little extras provided. After a day's walking (it's a fabulous area for the walks and hikes), it was such a relaxing cottage to return to; the glorious views are a bonus. Highly recommended.

only downside for us could’ve been a bit bigger bed. But we have super king at home and I work nights haha

A very cosy and clean cottage in a perfect location.

The location is very quite and ideal for walking trips and even for trips to the beach on nice days. Very friendly and nice owners who were very helpful on demand. We would love to come back.

Richard and Lucy are model hosts next door to this compact, comfortable cottage for two people.

It's beautifully situated, quiet and very well equipped with everything necessary for a self-catering stay, and just lovely to find fresh milk in the fridge, bara brith and all the makings for tea! We are fortunate to come regularly, and have booked again for next year.

Peaceful and quiet, with dark skies. The owners live on site and are lovely people. Love the place and can't wait to go back.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at cwm caeth.

So clean and cosy with great views. It would help people to write down the final part of the directions as there was no phone signal as we arrived so struggled a bit to find the cottage. The signal was perfect inside the cottage. Also if the bin instructions were all written in black not green as we failed to see the green on blue background till it was too late for collection.

So sad that my holiday was blighted by a knee problem but the cottage was delightful .

Very beautiful views and surroundings and very well situated for the hills , owners such lovely and helpful people without being intrusive .Important things like bed, cooker , bath , TV, small fridge freezer , cooking utensils , pans all excellent and very clean .The only negatives are not having control of the heating ( although owners are very attentive to your needs) and my personal dislike of non functional ornaments / clutter .

The cottage was really homely and very comfortable with magnificent views of the Snowdon range of mountains.

Sheep in the fields made the view complete,very restful.We were made very welcome by the family in the farm and had a perfect week.Would recommend this cottage to anyone who loves the country,the mountains and Wales.Well situated to visit the mountains or the coast.

We spent 3 nights at Cwm Caeth as it was our first visit.

We intend to return! It is a beautiful place and the cottage was exceptionally well appointed. If you like peace and quiet , but with access to many other p!aces, then Nantmor is the place for you.

Cwm Caeth cottage is a wonderful place to stay, I've never had any reason to complain about the cottage and this was my 4th stay here.

The hosts are great and always welcoming and helpful. A great base to explore the local area.

Wonderful location, lots of effort gone into making guests comfortable (coffee, tea, milk, welsh cakes, shampoo, shaving gel etc etc!

) Dog next door barked quite a lot- it didn't bother us but may be an issue for some guests Instructions to find you could be clearer- we never saw a signpost to Bryniffynnon. Would be clearer to say signpost to Nantmor and then left just before the big chapel. Not a criticism, just helpful hopefully Lovely 3 nights with you, thank you

Bigger than it looks in the photos.

Kitchen very well equipt with modern appliances and utensils. Hot tap in the bathroom sink twists the wrong way to normal - No problem, just takes a moment to get head around it. Generally exceptionally clean, but could do with a high level dusting and spider eviction. Beautiful location, very comfortable. We will definitely go back.

Beautiful cottage, which was clean and well equipped, super fluffy towels and comfortable bed, we loved the remoteness of the setting.

Friendly owners without being intrusive. Thank you for the wee welcome gifts especially the Welsh cakes mmm and allowing us to pick some apples. Pasta bowls would be useful and a dust pan and brush so I could sweep up my cooking crumbs. Seems strange making comment on the quality and sharpness of the knives but when self catering this is very important (I brought my own knives but they did not get used at all this holiday :)) Loved all of the "nic nac" ornaments - me to a T. North Wales is a beautiful part of the country and we relived childhood memories - highlights were climbing Yr Wyddfa up and down in 6 hours and the train journey to Caernarvon. A BIG thank you from this Northumberland Couple.

Richard, Lucy and Scarlett are so welcoming in an unobtrusive way. The fresh milk, tea and Welshcakes waiting for us were typical of their thoughtfulness and care. We had everything we needed,a dn have already booked for next year! Thanks.

The property was well-appointed, nicely decorated and spotlessly clean. There was everything there that you could possibly need, with lots of extra little touches that all combined to make our stay very good indeed. We had a fabulous week at Cwm Caeth Cottage, which is situated in a beautiful and tranquil setting.

It's also ideally placed for visiting numerous sites of interest in North Wales and, of course, there are many lovely walks nearby. Richard, Lucy & Gay are excellent hosts and we would definitely recommend this cottage to others.

Superb quality and comfort. Obviously a huge effort had been made by the delightful owners. Highly recommended for the views and the feeling of remoteness but within a short drive of all facilities and stunning locations to visit. I am sure that we will revisit in the future. Thank you.

I had a lovely stay in this beautiful cottage, in such a gorgeous setting.

The cottage had everything I needed and its location is handy for so many nearby places. The owners were very friendly and helpful and gave me a warm welcome. I would definitely reccomend this listing as a great place to stay. I will be coming back - hopefully with better weather this time!

This is a well furnished and comfortable cottage.

As a base to explore the area the experience was enhanced by having such a warm lovely place to return to and relax. It was certainly a huge part of the holiday. We would certainly recommend it to our friends and family.

A wonderful welcome to a wonderful cottage.

Spotlessly clean in a very scenic views of the mountains. Full of querkey nic nacs and bits and bobs. Full supply of tea sugar and coffee, milk and other treats. Lucy and Richard very helpful but not in your face. Ideal for walkers and touring North Wales with bedleggert five minutes in the car and Porthmadog fifteen minutes. All in all a brilliant stay and will be going back.

Cwm Caeth is in a lovely location, well equipped, friendly, welcoming owners, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

This is a beautiful cottage, with everything of the highest standard, reflecting the way of life of the owners.

We had long conversations with them and care a lot about the same things. Both the welcome and farewell are treasures. The outlook and views are gorgeous. It would have been better for us to have been able to have a sofa bed in the lounge as a fallback. The directions to the cottage are badly in need of revision! The turning off the A4085, is marked by a 'BUS STOP SIGN and a dirty sign that reads Nantmor'. (There is no sign for the name of the road, and your directions are wrong at this point.) It should then say: 'Climb up steeply, over the Railtrack and uphill through Nantmor village till you see the Chapel on your left. Turn left in front of the Chapel and past the telephone box and keep going uphill till you reach a gate with Cwm Caith Farm on it. Open the gate to drive through and close it. Drive on and you will then see the farmhouse.' The only other point I would make about your services is this. We had decided to come to the area one night sooner and it so happened that Cwm Caith was available that one night extra. After phoning yourselves, I was told it would cost a staggering 140 pounds extra. So of course, I looked around and got fixed up for half that amount in Porthmadog.This huge sum was due I believe to extra insurance and admin., not a higher daily rent rate for the owners. This incident is the mainyy reason I have rated you at only 5.

A perfectly peaceful cottage, set in amongst beautiful scenery. Every relaxing holidaying need catered for. Some lovely walks close by, especially the river walk to the picturesque village of Beddgelert. We would definately go again

Clean, neat, extremely well-provided.

Everything that two people could need in a compact space convenient for lovely hills. NB this is compact - for two people!

This is a very special place and we agree with the constant 5* reviews that confirm this!

The hosts are very welcoming and friendly and happy to help with any questions (they live opposite). The situation is just breathtaking and you have your own little garden and table and chairs with an unspoilt view of the mountains. It is so quiet and peaceful with just the noise of the birds and sheep (or rain if you are unlucky - although we had perfect weather for 95% of the time). The cottage is quite small but perfect for two people and is tastefully decorated with a functional kitchen. Unlike many properties, so much is provided and the welcome pack is amazing (certainly no need to go shopping for a day). Another nice touch was the provision of "emergency" toiletries. Very highly recommended - you will not be disappointed!. P.S. Our SatNav found it first time with the Postcode!

If you forget anything, don't worry, little extras all over, tea coffee sugar, small deodorant, toothpaste and more. Very scenic setting with mountains all around. Couple of miles from beddgelert with a shop with most requirements, few pubs restaurants etc. Walks from the cottage itself. Really comfy bed ,wardrobe space. Comfy room diner with very good utensils. Lisa and Richard on hand if needed and all in all a top cottage with the snowdonia national park on your doorstep.

The Cottage was very well prepared with a selection of Tea/Coffee, milk welsh cakes and biscuits.

All Instructions were very clear and the cottage was clean and nicely decorated and there was a selection of leaflets on places to visit. There was also a small garden area with table and chairs for sitting outside. The fact that the owners lived on the opposite side of the farm track meant that if there had been any problems (which there wasn't) they would have been easily contactable . The owners were also very friendly and helpful with advice on places to visit and the best places to eat out in the area.

What could be more perfect for a quiet, comfortable break than Cwm-Caeth cottage? Nothing we think. Beautiful location, stunning views, spaciuos yet cosy, comfortable and really well appointed beyond being adequate. Every need provided for, plus lots of tasteful little ornamental extras to compliment the homely decor. Our hosts were friendly and helpful, including old Charlie the dog, altogether a perfect holiday experience. We'll be back.

An extremely well presented cottage, a bit awkward to find as sat nav doesn't recognise farm. Your directions need to be better. We will definitely go again.

Lovely cosy cottage in a stunning location.

Hosts were very welcoming and provided lots of little extras. It was very clean and comfortable and felt like a home from home. Beautiful walks to Beddgelert ( about an hr). The steam train goes from Nantmor , although wasn’t running when we stayed there. Location is very central to visit most of Snowdonia within an hour driving. We would thoroughly recommend a stay here.

The cottage was perfect for our requirements and the couple who rent it out were exceptionally helpful.

Even booking a local hotel restaurant place for us as we had arrived a little later than expected The property is in an idyllic situation overlooked by the mountains of snowdonia We found them to be wonderful warm hosts We will definitely visit again
