A 10 minute walk from the most beautiful beach and a few minutes from fabulous coastal treks. We wanted a comfortable week of peace and quiet and that’s exactly what we got. The home made cake on arrival was a delicious treat and set the tone for our week. Thank you Bwthyn Defaid.

We had a fabulous week with great beach/cliff walks from the cottage and some great places to visit in the local area with a nice welcoming local pub. I would certainly recommend Bwthyn Defaid one of the best cottages my partner and I have stayed in.

  • "Generally, the house was as described but the parking area was rather small for more than two medium sized vehicles."

Contrary to the impression given in the description, there are no direct countryside views though the path to the coast is nearby and easily accessible, and offers good marine views, as well as those of the hilly backcloth to Nefyn.

  • "This was one of the loveliest cottages we’ve stayed in."

It had lots of facilities( but please note no hair dryer , I hadn’t spotted the ‘no hairdryer’ icon in the details so it was my fault). Beautifully furnished, decorated and equipped with a lovely garden, great parking. I had a problem with the bed and the owner delivered bedding for one of the single beds which was firmer, even though it was her birthday! A lovely holiday cottage.

Thank you for your lovely comments. I am glad I could oblige and you enjoyed your holiday. Property Owner

A very clean well equipped cottage. A lovely cake, milk and tea/coffee on arrival. The only reason I've not put 5 stars is the beds are quite soft and for me I began to get a few back niggles.

Very clean throughout and well equipped. The layout was lovely too nice to be able to shut the lounge off so we only really used that in the evening. The garden is brilliant and secure for our dog. The village itself is peaceful and well connected to many walks. We want to be there right now. We will be back The owner was also really helpful when I contacted her. Thank you.

However, the stairs are very steep and for people with young children it would benefit from stairgates. During too very wet days it also felt a bit cold. Also due to the steepness of the path the beach is better accessed by car, if you are elderly or have young children. Nevertheless we had a really lovely stay!

  • "We enjoyed our stay at Bewthyn Defaid."

The cottage is very well-equipped and in a nice quiet area. There were a few points that could be addressed : 1. New matresses are needed for the 2 single beds as the springs were sticking up. 2. We couldn't alter the central heating and there were some cold evenings. 3. The grill on the oven didn't work.

I am delighted you enjoyed your stay at Bwthyn Defaid. As an owner, the experience of my guests is paramount to me, that is why I am contactable 24 hours a day to assist with anything that I can, and I am only a couple of minutes away. My contact details are provided by Menai holidays, and also left for you by myself on arrival. However, I had no contact at all from you during your stay. If you had raised you queries with me, I would have been able to address them immediately. The heating is controlled by a hive, and so I am aware of the activity of the system. As you increased the temperature of the heating shortly after arriving, then again the following day to 20 degrees, the temperature of the house remained constant throughout your weeks stay, if it appeared to you the heating wasn’t on, that is because the temperature of the house was higher than 20 degrees. I would also have been able to clarify to you how the grill works (it does). I am sorry the mattresses were not to your taste. The mattress you refer to was in perfect condition, it was new last year with no damage to the springs. I have now replaced it with a firmer mattress which will hopefully be more appealing to my future guests. Property Owner

Huge kitchen & dining room with all the equipment needed. The shower is super powerful which is something we always like to have. All three bedrooms very light and lovely feel to them. We felt very comfortable in our weeks stay . The outdoor space was used extensively and gets the sun all day! Having coffee in the sun in the mornings through to several BBQs with sunsets . Nefyn is a great base to explore the fantastic lyn Peninsula with its Knock-out Views and top class beaches.& not with hoards of tourists!! Don’t miss booking this one it’s a real gem.

Great cottage - well furnished and equipped, and garden genuinely secure (we have a dog so this is very important to us) some lovely touches too - the welcome cup cakes was a homely way to start our break excellent location too - walkable to local facilities, beach and coastal path we were delighted with it and had a wonderful holiday - thank you :)

  • "Lovely little cottage and well located for walks on the coast."

The cottage was clean and had all the essentials. Compared to other places we have stayed in, the ‘welcome pack’ was minimal. Some more information would have helped eg about the recycling arrangement, instructions for using the log burner, a map of the village, etc. We found the DVD player was not plugged into the tv and no cable to do this so unable to watch the dvds we brought with us. We didn’t use the log burner, but if we had we’d have had to buy logs as only two logs supplied and no log store - if advertising a log burner we felt more than two logs should be supplied! Overall a lovely cottage - just a few frustrations.

The only bad thing is the mattresses are uncomfortable. I'd recomend Emma mattresses as they are not too pricey, tough and don't have lumpy springs.
