Y Wylan

A lovely clean property in a beautiful location surrounded by stunning countryside with nearby walks.

Gwyneth the host was very friendly and helpful providing fresh eggs and a nice welcome pack. We were blessed with beautiful weather. Will definitely return o e day. Thank you.

Again a lovely stay a Y Wylan

We had a lovely stay, our first time in this cottage, third overall at this site.

The standard of the accomodation equaled our previous experience. The welcome pack was lovely the milk was appreciated and the Tuesday morning delivery of fresh eggs was a lovely thought and very tasty. You smashed it again Gwyneth. The view from the door is outstanding, we got to visit our favourite places. And got the relaxation we needed. The boys enjoyed themselves too meeting some new friends next door. Would and have been recommending this place for a number of years.

Our 2nd visit and just as perfect as the first.

I’m a Celiac so cleanliness is important because of cross contamination but no worries here. Great location too. It won’t be our last visit. Angelique

Very comfy well equipped cottage with lovely views and walks from the door in a great location for visiting the local holiday beaches and the host was very attentive and let us know what time the cottage would be ready to allow early for occupancy definitely would use again if in the area

Very welcoming host.

Accommodation absolutely first rate. Couldn’t be better.

The owner was amazing And very helpful.

A lovely cottage in a great location.

Owner very fried fly indeed. Nice welcoming gifts of wine, eggs, cookies and milk. Shame fridge hadn’t been switched on so milk was on the turn and was wasted before it could be used. I don’t tend to cook whilst on a cottage holiday so only used toaster, kettle and microwave. Sadly I did notice how very greasy the extractor hood was. Obviously hadn’t been cleaned in awhile

Fantastic cottage with beautiful scenery!

It was warm, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a week-long holiday. I would love to return in the future; it had easy access to local amenities, attractions and it meant that we had some amazing dog walks on our doorstep! We were made to feel extremely welcome and at home.

This little cottage was 110% all round and in a great place.

Really comfortable, well equipped, so relaxing and with amazing views. A really thoughtful welcome pack, which was much appreciated and used. The surprise of having some fresh eggs delivered was so lovely. Our 3 dogs (Alfie, Oliver and Lottie) my husband and I loved it so much. We’ll definitely be booking again.

Gwyneth was the perfect host, the welcome pack of wine, biscuits and milk was much appreciated.

Y Wylan was the best holiday cottage that we have stayed in, everything that you needed for a home from home holiday was there. The cottage was very clean, tidy, bright and airy, we will be back!! The fresh eggs found on the doorstep one morning were wonderful. Thanks Gwyneth for the best holiday stay ever.

Very clean and comfortable owners very helpful .

lovely views .enjoyed our first stay here.

Excellent property with everything you might need.

Particularly pleased with the enclosed garden for the dogs. Great location a with beautiful views.

Property was lovely and quiet - exactly what we were looking for.

Had a great time and struck lucky with the weather! Gwyneth was very friendly and helpful. Cottage had all the facilities you could want and was very bright and welcoming. Good spot for getting to and from walks on the island - if you have a dog would recommend looking online for a walking with dogs book - great walks inside!

The cottage is delightful everything you need is there, a small garden for our dog and for us to sit in and admire the view.

Gwyneth is a lovely lady and couldn’t do enough for us. We would recommend this cottage very highly,we would love to go back.

this is a very pleasant property in a wonderfull location .

Mrs. Cambell the owner is allways very helpfull. This was our fourth stay and not the last.

Couldn’t ask for more, superb accommodation, great location, very clean with everything we needed for a relaxing break in Anglesey with our dogs.

Made to feel very welcome by the owner on our first day, welcome pack much appreciated.

This is a beautiful well maintained property open plan lounge, kitchen and dining area with one bedroom and a bathroom.

The property was spotlessly clean and there was a welcome package from the owner Mrs Campbell of tea, coffee, sugar, milk, biscuits and a lovely bottle of wine which was very much appreciated. If you want a nice relaxing holiday I would highly recommend this property.

This property is “far from the maddening crowds” easiest way to put it.

3 miles from the nearest village. 1.5 miles from the stack and a 1/4mile from the road. Peaceful quiet tranquil. Gwyneth is the perfect host always on hand if needed. We have 3 Westies and the garden is enclosed which is helpful just to let them out when needed. The property is clean and tidy and well proportioned. Oh and one other thing, loved the 4 resident donkeys visiting everyday. Really recommended.

What an amazing place to stay would highly recommend a stay here we will be back for sure

We could not fault the cottage.

It was just perfect for us. The owner was welcoming and friendly. The views, sunset and area was so tranquil. We aim to revisit

This is a excellent cottage was perfect for us and our five dogs first time in Wales definitely will be going again.

Gwyneth was excellent with making us welcome

This is our 3rd stay here which says it all really.

The variable weather didn't help the holiday but can't be helped. There were a lot of flies about but the owner kindly provided fly spray. I jarred my back part way through the week and found the settee a bit low afterwards.

We had a great week here and our 4 Cavalier King Charles Spaniel’s loved it too.

There is a small beach a few minutes drive away from the cottage that we visited most mornings and the views from the cottage were beautiful! The garden was enclosed and perfect for our girls and we arrived to wine, biscuits, coffee and milk in the fridge which added that extra special touch. Our host greeted us on arrival and wasn’t phased by the barking of our very excited dogs and was always around should we need her. We were concerned that the other 2 cottages on either side of us would hear our dogs barking but when we spoke to the ‘neighbours’ they didn’t hear a peep as the walls are so thick. We will definitely be back! Thanks for having us!

Lovely cottage in the middle of nowhere, great for us and our four dogs because we like the peace, not so good if you like the pub or eating out.

The cottage itself was nice, it provided everything one needs, plus a nice welcome pack (fresh milk, biscuits and a bottle of wine …nice), the bathroom extractor fan needs replacing (noisy and it struggles to start sometimes), a little general maintenance would do the property good (silicon around work tops and shower tray need attention. Would I go back…yes…probably (shame we both came down with covid on the first day).

The only problems we found was that our labrador could jump the enclosed garden wall (not the owners fault), so we put her on a long lead and attached it to a stake in the grass, problem solved.

The field opposite the cottages was ideal as both labradors could have a good run. There seemed to be so many flies so we purchased some fly spray. The cottage owner was so helpful and bought a shower chair to us as I am disabled. Would definitely go back Rob and Andrea Sloan

This was our fourth visit so we are obviously very happy here and always enjoy our holiday.

What others may find useful to know is that phone signal, internet and catch up tv are all quite limited. If you want to get away from technology it's great however if you need to be in constant contact with the outside world it could prove difficult. There is a DVD player so it could be a good idea to take a few films in case the weather is bad. Lovely clean, warm, comfortable cottage where we have always been made to feel very welcome.

Y Ylan Cottage was lovely a really good barn conversation one bedroom lounge diner and lovely big shower room with a unit for your bits and pieces as most let's do not have table and chairs to front of building very private and quiet the owner comes around to welcome you and make sure that all is ok what a lovely place to stay we are definitely going back next year (Well Recommended)

Lovely property Beautiful spot.

Couldnt have been any better

Good location and comfortable stay.

Only negative was 1st impressions. Old plastic chair randomly placed outside. clock with no battery on wall. No instructions regarding facilities. Had to ask neighbour for WiFi code. Had to ask where washing machine was. First holiday with Sykes. Did notify owners representative of lack of instructions but non arrived

Fantastic quiet property with everything that you need.

Very comfortable bed, good shower, well equipped kitchen. Couldn't get the TV to work but actually better without it! Short and long walks along the coast with the dog without the need to get in the car. Note dogs are allowed on most beaches 1/10 to 30/04 Highly recommend and will be booking again for next year

Lovely stay, very peaceful.

Despite the weather, the cottage was lovely and cosy. All very clean and well organised. The kitchen had a good range of equipment. Some great walks both locally and further afield.

Cottage was warm and cosy in a quiet location.

Wifi connection was good. Television was difficult to work at first but eventually sussed it out. The cottage owner was very friendly and helpful with welcome gifts including a bottle of wine. Cottage was a bit isolated and could have done with a local walk where we did not have to use the car. Enjoyable holiday with only one wet day.

This is the 4th time we have stopped in this cottage and again it didn't disappoint.

The view from the cottage is amazing and I never get bored of it. There are plenty of walks nearby and further afield if happy to have a drive out. The dog friendly beech is a 5 min drive away. Would highly recommend. We will be back.

Very enjoyable stay.

The cottage was lovely and clean and comfortable. It was spacious enough for my husband and I and our two dogs. The cottage is set on a farm with lovely views and is very relaxing. There is plenty of parking and it is situated 5 to 10 minutes from the A55 where you can soon reach other towns, villages and beaches. Holyhead is a little run down, however, we found the marina, penrhos coastal path and south stack were enjoyable places to visit. Overall our stay was excellent, our only gripe would be that sometimes there was only a trickle of water for the shower so we had to strategically work out the best time for showering. We would, however, definitely return again sometime.

This was a perfect cottage for us with our 3 dogs and had all the facilities the two of us needed for our stay.

Such a beautiful location too! Thank you for the warm and friendly welcome. We hope to see you again.

A little piece of heaven!

We had a wonderful stay in this lovely property with beautiful surroundings. The property is very clean, well maintained and has everything needed for a comfortable holiday. All the little extras were a lovely treat - thank you. We were able to visit lots of different places, walk the coastal paths with the breathtaking views and then return to the tranquility of the cottage for a relaxed evening. Just a perfect holiday for a break from the rat race of life! We will definitely be returning. Thank you!

Very comfortable cottage with a friendly hostess.

Nice separate garden area which was ideal for our dogs (4). We were offered the use of fields to let our dogs run in but rather too much sheep droppings so we took them to the Range which is just a one minute drive away or a 5 minute walk if you are are energetic.

Good location with lovely views clean and comfortable friendly welcome we would be happy to return

Lovely cottage, with everything we needed in a beautiful setting.

After one week we feel refreshed and energised.

WOW!

A beautiful property in a beautiful location. The perfect place for relaxing or walking and sightseeing. There was everything you needed supplied in the cottage. The support offered by Debbie was above and beyond and with my husband having disabilities and a dog with seizures knowing if anything happened someone was there to help me if needed was invaluable. Within 24 hours of arriving there we booked to come back. Gwyneth, you and your team are amazing, thank you for letting us share you little piece of paradise. Deb, Tony, Giz & Daisy. Xxxx

The cottage is fairly isolated which is not necessarily bad.

It is not within walkable distance of a pub, shops, restaurants etc. The mobile phone signal is poor to non-existent and the wi-fi is variable in quality (maybe dependant on your adjoining neighbours usage). It is ideally sized for two folk (plus pet) and would recommend to others as long as caveats about communications are isolation are known. Anglesey as a whole was fantastic and well worth the visit.

A beautiful little cottage on the owners 70 acre livestock farm.

The cottage is very cosy and well appointed for two people. The owner is very welcoming and it was a nice surprise to find a little welcome pack on arrival. Great time of year fir a visit, despite the wind, watching all the newborn lambs and their mom's in the fields. A very relaxing and enjoyable stay to celebrate my wife's birthday and to catch up with family.

Lovely base camp to explore the gorgeous isle of Anglesea.

A very comfortable, spotlessly clean cottage with a fantastic view of Holyhead Mountain.

On a working farm with a host who greeted us with a warm personal welcome and who was available with plenty of local knowledge and advice whenever needed. Plenty of places for walking and some lovely little beaches to watch the waves roll in against the rocks. Dog friendly with an enclosed garden that was perfect. Will be looking to book again.

Beautiful cottage in a wonderful peaceful setting, owner provided everything needed also some additional gifts, wonderful place for us and our dogs to explore surrounding area

This is our 3rd visit to this cottage and yet again it didn't disappoint.

Great location the view from the cottage is amazing and I never tire of looking at Holyhead Mountain. Our 4 dogs enjoyed it also and we spent the days hiking and exploring the area. There are photo opportunities around every corner of this beautiful Island. Gwynth was great and was very knowledgeable regarding the area. We look forward to returning for another visit in the future.

We had difficulties finding the property, perhaps a simple map could be supplied.

The cottage when we found it was very nice, and the owner was lovely, could have done with a little more cutlery and crockery we were in a one bedroom cottage for two and there was only two mugs and two cups three tea spoons. There was no freezer in the cottage, it was only by chance that we found the communal freezer in an out building when we heard the neighbours talking about it. I know I seemed to have mcomplained a lot but the cottage was lovely and we had a very good holiday, very peaceful and lovely scenery

Amazing cottage, wonderful owners.

This is s lovely place, really friendly people.

WiFi not all that but did get a signal down the lane.

Was a bit ticked off by the email and text saying we need to clean the cottage.

It should go without saying and receiving a text which seemed nagging in tone spoilt a lively day out.

This is a fabulous property on Holy Island, Anglesey.

Quiet and relaxing. The owner is a lovely, friendly lady who goes above and beyond. Secure garden area for the dogs, which is a lot larger than it appears in the photo. WiFi and mobile reception can be a bit hit and miss but you are in the middle of a small island. It’s the perfect excuse to get away from social media. Other than that, everything needed for a relaxing break is here. Highly recommend this property.

Disappointed with lack of internet coverage which cost me another £40 as I had to use my own data and went over my allowance, expected it to be fixed before we came home

Excellent holiday accommodation and Host, the facilities were not excellent only because the water pressure to the shower was very temperamental.

Fantastic week away, lovely cottage, lovely views.

. Gwynedd is the perfect host makes you feel welcome and is on hand … welcome pack is an added bonus Will certainly be visiting again

Beautiful cottage set in an amazing location.

The cottage is well equipped, tastefully decorated and very clean. Loved the welcome pack of wine, biscuits and milk and the freshly laid eggs in the week. Plenty of walks nearby which our dogs enjoyed. We would definitely recommend a visit to Newborough Forest, we loved it so much we went twice. Anglesey is stunning and we will definitely come back ❤

Had a lovely holiday and the cottage is so well equipped.

The only thing we missed was some kind of a grab handlein the shower. But then we're a couple of late eighties and a bit 'unbalanced'. We would love another holiday there if we're able to do so.

We thoroughly enjoyed our week here, the owners of the farm are so lovely and helpful.

The location of the farm is perfect, the views are incredible and Trearddur Bay is only a 10 minute drive away. We will without a doubt book to stay here again in the near future. Thank you!

This was our second visit and we were not disappointed - had a perfect, relaxing holiday in this cosy cottage.

We will return!

Beautiful cosy cottage, good enclosed small garden , think large dogs may be able to jump wall.

Host nice and left wine, biscuits and brought fresh eggs one morning. 5 min drive to a lovely beach/cove and accessible to rest of the island. Views are beautiful and we had great weather for the time of year. CONS : massive let down was the shower water pressure, it was a trickle at times and unacceptable. Such a shame as bathroom was stunning. TV needs replacing as colour kept going very dark , also to a smart tv so people can have a variety of things to watch too. Wifi very intermittent but sometimes this is expected in remote areas. All in all we had a lovely holiday but would not return due to the cons I've mentioned.

We found the property very clean and comfortable.

The views from the property were outstanding. We were made to feel very welcome by the owner who provided a lovely welcome pack. We and our beagles really enjoyed our stay and hope to return.

my husband and I stayed here with our 2 basset hounds, we had a wonderful break, the bungalow was perfect and the location was beautiful, our hosts were welcoming but totally unintrusive, fabulous costal walks and just a short trip to local shops etc.

We would definitely recommend and re-book. Thanks so much.

This is the IDEAL holiday cottage.

Impeccably clean, excellent location on working farm which is always interesting, friendly non-intrusive host who provides both eggs AND wine, comfortable beds, high standard of interior design and all necessary facilities. I could want for nothing more which is the reason I will be visiting four times this year!

The cottage was in a beautiful setting with stunning views from the patio.

Perfect location for walks with dog friendly beaches close by and several walks around the area within walking distance or a car journey if happy to travel. Gwyneth was there to meet us on our arrival and then left us to enjoy the holiday but lives on site if anything was required. In the cottage was a tray with biscuits and tea and coffee so you were set to go before unpacking. She gave us eggs on one of the days which were fresh that day and they were lovely. We took 4 dogs with us and this wasn't an issue with them at all they settled straight in. Would highly recommend going again and we will no doubt be booking for next year.

Gwenyth who was very friendly and welcoming and had provided a welcome pack of tea coffee sugar biscuits and wine.

.even a pint of milk in the fridge ...the amazing views.....the facilities in the cottage there was everything you needed....and the peace and quiet. Enjoyed it so much within an hour of arriving home we had booked for next July in Y Wennol. Don't want to wish my life away but I can't wait

Gwyneth was very accommodating and even provided a spare camp type bed with bedding for my daughter.

Everything was provided and a very relaxing break. The only issue is the lack of any decent mobile service which meant it was difficult to ring or text

We'll make sure we return to Y Wylan - it's so relaxing here.

This was our first visit here and it won’t be our last, We came for a weeks holiday and it was a lovely place to visit, the views from the cottage were outstanding as was the Cottage, The owner was very kind and helpful and made us feel welcome the minute we got there, Again all I can say is this place is very relaxing which we wanted and we enjoyed every minute of our stay so Thank You for a great Holiday Gwyneth ( hope I got the name right ) Regards Mr & Mrs Green

Very comfortable, clean cottage good base to explore Anglesey.

We went for a walk and-returned to find six fresh eggs waiting by the door

Lovely, comfy cottage with great views and a peaceful setting.

Third visit to this cottage, always look forward to returning.

A beautiful cottage in a stunning location.

Very helpful and friendly owner lovely welcome tray. The farm fresh eggs were a lovely treat. Very dog friendly

We could not have received a warmer welcome, which is great as we have five dogs.

The cottage was extremely comfortable with everything we needed. The location is perfect for exploring the absolutely beautiful surrounding area. This is an area which is worth visiting at any time of year, in any weather. Fabulous!

A very enjoyable holiday

Loved this cottage the setting was magical, owner was friendly but very discreet.

Amazing coastal walks so quiet like having hidden coves just to yourselves. Plenty to see around the island will definitely return here.

The perfect spot with a great host

Property was spotlessly clean, very comfortable and there were lots of little extra touches, such as big fluffy towels and a welcome pack even including wine.

One of the best self catering properties we have stayed in.

My partner and I booked the cottage for a week from 10/03/18 .

The cottage is beautiful, inside and out, everything you need is there, very warm and cosy, an enclosed garden/ patio to sit and enjoy the fabulous views. We had a great week, Mrs Campbell (the owner) is really lovely, very helpful, and thoughtful, bringing round some delicious eggs. We will be booking again :)

Owner was lovely but not really interested when we raised various issues: water kept going off, black water coming from taps.

Other issues that we didn't bother reporting to her : WiFi unreliable, dvd player broken, oven didn't work. The cottage was beautiful and very clean and the location lovely but basics like clean drinking water are essential. The trip was booked for my husbands 50th and we didn't stay the full week, his birthday was ruined. We only stayed 4 of the 7 nights and when we called sykes they said that the owner denied any problems. Won't be using sykes again.

We had a wonderful break at Y Wylan.

The accommodation was extremely clean and comfortable. Our 3 dogs loved the long walks we were able to give them. Holyhead town centre is less than a 10 minute drive and the Country park is to be recommended! We were given 6 fresh free range eggs by Mrs Campbell and they were quite delicious. We would not hesitate to book this cottage again. A big thank you to the owners!

Really lovely cottage we had excellent stay over Christmas with our 3 dogs that the owner made very welcome.

Nice warm well decorated and had everything we needed for a great stay although we have our own touring caravan we will definitely return

Beautiful cottage with high ceilings, beams and skylights and much bigger than we expected The location is perfect, views amazing and although on a working farm there is no disturbance.

The owner is warm and friendly, there when she is needed and not at all overbearing. The cottage was well thought out and had everything we needed and although dog friendly was immaculate. We had a much needed break and have every intention of returning. We also highly recommend Sykes for the extremely professional quality service they always provide.

Wonderful location with excellent views.

This cottage was brilliant and the owner's did everything possible, to make our stay, a happy one.

I would highly recommend it. We have booked another cottage with Sykes and we are off again in 5 weeks. The whole experience was great, so thank you Sykes Cottages.

The Owner very friendly and helpful, beautiful location, thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

All the cottages are beautiful and a credit to the owner.
