  • "What a beautiful, cosy home."

The cottage is immaculately clean which was appreciated. Previous reviews have mentioned a dog smell, but we didn't smell that at all so please don't be put off by that, hopefully that was just a one off. The kitchen is well equipped, there wasn't anything we needed that wasn't already there for us to use. The beds are comfortable with all guests (party of 9) agreeing. The kids books and games were a nice touch for the children in the party to use. The hot tub went down really well, especially the lights which we put on in the evening along with the ability to connect our music to the Bluetooth speaker. Only slight negatives we noticed was that the shower pressure was weaker if the bath upstairs was running simultaneously. The hot tub on our last night was also giving off a slight unpleasant smell, one of the guests who owns a hot tub mentioned it just needed certain chemicals adding or something, which is routine, so easily resolved. Neither of the issues impacted our stay greatly. We had a fabulous time, would definitely recommend and return ourselves :)

  • "We had such a lovely wknd at the cottage and would def return!"

It is such a gorgeous cottage with so much attention to detail, We just felt it just needed a deep clean there was lots of dust and dirty windows but it didn’t take away from the enjoyment of our time there! The towels could do with being bigger too they were a bit small! Overall we had a fantastic wknd in a beautiful location!

  • "Low wall in top garden that dogs could easily jump over so made it difficult to have them outside."

The house allows dogs so was surprised at the non secure garden. Also bedrooms could do with more hanging space and shelves to put clothes on as this was limited. The house was lovely, very warm, clean and finished to a high standard and would recommend staying here.

Clean and modern with nice touches. Hot tub was a great addition and appreciated that we could take our well behaved dogs.

Amazing property, lovely, newly renovated:) had a few problems with the shower as we found that it leaked a bit into the bathroom, but that was the only small issue- perfect and would love to stay again

  • "A beautiful property."

It was very clean and comfortable. It had everything you could possibly need. We were a big group (10 of us) and I was concerned about space but there was plenty of room for us all. We had a lovely stay (despite the rain on Sunday). We would like to stay again in summer.

Thank you so much, for your review we are really pleased you enjoyed your stay, and would love to welcome you back soon. Property Owner

  • "The cottage is beautiful, well equipped and in a peaceful setting."

The only improvement that I would suggest is better quality pillows and duvets.

Thankyou for your feedback, we will invest in better pillows, and duvets. Property Owner

  • "Property filthy on arrival dog hairs everywhere, generally unclean with strong dog smell on indoor furniture, outdoor furniture cushions mouldy and damp, BBQ left filthy by previous resident."

Two thirds of bedrooms not made up on arrival even though full occupancy rate paid. Holiday ruined as a result as had to spend more time away from property than planned. Complaints raised with both owner and Sykes which to date has been treated disgracefully. Despite attempts to follow up on email and telephone complaint not resolved!
