  • "We had a fabulous break at Didaro."

We loved the peace and quiet and the lovely views. Very comfortable beds and good facilities. The only down side was not having control of the heating system. It tended to be off when we wanted it on and working when we wanted it off! On the whole, we would consider Didaro to be of a much higher standard than some of the 5* properties we have stayed in in the past.

  • "We arrived at the property not much of a welcome pack."

Could have done with a good clean before hand attention to detail much needed, windows as dirty inside as were outside. Heating didn’t work properly and no complimentary log burner pack as stated in details. The property seemed like an unfinished project. To me if your charging top dollar you should provide a top class spotless accommodation.

  • "Didaro has the potential to be a really nice holiday property, but I felt was let down on this occasion by cleanliness issues."

The previous occupants possibly a dog of the Labrador variety as there was a copious amount of dog hair everywhere, and although we were very lucky with the weather during our stay we couldn't appreciate the view due to the condition of the windows. The advertised starter pack for the wood burner would have been nice too but as stated we had good weather

Hello. Thank you for your feedback. The ‘dog hair’ is from the rug in the living room. There was no dog on the previous booking and the rug is new so still malts a lot. Unfortunately the windows get that way very quickly after a clean because of the salt water air from the sea. One of the unfortunate luxury’s of being so close to the sea. Thank you Property Owner

The cottage was lovely but had unfortunate incidents with flying ants for 3 days until we filled in the gaps with soap which was all we had available was quite upsetting for our granddaughter the only other issue was no frying pan which we had to go and buy

Thank you for your review. Sorry to hear about the flying ant incident…unfortunately I wasn’t made aware about that from Sykes during your stay otherwise I would have tried to help Sadly the frying pan has been taking from the property but a new one is on its way I am glad you enjoyed the house otherwise Property Owner

  • "This is a great house in a lovely spot, but it's not yet properly equipped, as other reviews have already stated."

Concerned by the earlier reviews and by the owner's enquiry as to which beds needed made up, I asked for reassurance that the issues with the house had been sorted and that we would have all beds available to us, having paid for use of the entire house. I received no response for days until I contacted Sykes, who called the owner on my behalf. Apparently they had been on holiday, but if you work in hospitality (which I do) you either have to reply to customers when you can or hand the work over to someone in your absence. Simply not replying isn't ok. When the owner did reply, I was assured that all beds would be made up and that I needn't have any worries about the house. On arrival, two bedrooms were made up, but in the family room which has three beds, only one bed was made up. The other two were piled with coverless duvets and pillows. Bearing in mind we have two young daughters excited by the bunk beds, this wasn't practical and also just looks rubbish, unfinished and unwelcoming. I checked the cupboards and drawers beneath beds for more bedding but only found three single bed sheets. I then contacted the owner who told me to look in the drawers under the beds for bedding. I received no response whatsoever to my reply that I already had looked in the drawers and only had three bedsheets. In the end, we made up the top bunk with one sheet (which we shouldn't have to do), borrowed a pillow off another bed, and my daughter slept under another fitted sheet. Totally unnecessary and all the more annoying given I had raised my concerns about beds in advance. You can't charge £200+ a night and have guests sleeping under bedsheets! The kitchen is not yet properly stocked. There's one chopping board but it's broken - half the length of a bigger wooden board that has at some point split, leaving a long, thin rectangle to do all cooking with. There are no oven gloves. Not even a frying pan! And there aren't the very basics that you find in holiday properties. We were there for two nights but couldn't do any washing up until we went to the shop for dishwasher tablets and a washing up brush. My dad used to rent a property out on Sykes and they would leave a dishwasher tablet for each day guests were staying, with washing up brush/sponge, and multiple tea towels (rather than the single towel at Didaro). Photo frames on the walls and bedside tables continue to be empty which we had a good laugh about, and the second double room has nowhere to hang clothes (instead of a rail there are just a few hooks) or plug in lamps. Once they've sorted the basics out at Didaro, they need to consider details like not having winter tog duvets during a hot week in July, and allowing guests more than one pillow each. If these details are sorted out, and if owner responsiveness improves, it's a lovely place to be.

Thank you for your feedback. We will certainly be working on your above comments to improve the use of Didaro. If you could share what the basic equipment was you were missing from the kitchen that would be helpful? Thank you Property Owner

  • "We loved the property as soon as we saw it."

The surrounding area and views were amazing. The bedrooms were great and suited us as a family. We loved the walks to the small coves and to Treaddur Bay which weren't far from the bungalow. We loved staying at Didaro so much that we're going to book again for next year.

Thank you for your feedback. I am glad you were able to enjoy the lovely walks and beaches and so glad to hear you will be re booking. Thank you Property Owner

  • "The house has been recently renovated inside and furnishings are attractive."

However, so many details are missing to make this a comfortable and successful holiday let. We arrived late and were very surprised to find no information and so struggled to access the wifi, work out the heating (which we could not fathom and it was a cold and wet week and so we would have liked it). The welcome pack is very sparse - just a few tea and coffee sachets and milk sachets. I messaged the mobile given in the email to ask about the wifi and was told the information pack would be there next week, which I found quite ridiculous given that we would not be there next week and so this was of no relevance to us! The property is relatively clean but not spotless and some rooms have a damp smell. My daughter stayed in the bunkbed room and was not comfortable in there as only one of the beds had been made up, making the room feel unwelcoming - compared to how it is shown in the photos. The shower we used was weak, although the other one was apparently a little stronger. There was the last person's wash bag in the bathroom and an old foot pumice in the shower and so attention to detail after each stay is required. The kitchen is underequipped. We had to go to Tesco to buy additional equipment, with no grater or frying pan and insufficient plates and cups. We assumed that a property with a Nespresso coffee machine would have the basics, and were disappointed. We found the picture frames on the walls and in the bedrooms without any pictures in them very odd indeed! The lovely lamps in the bedroom look great in the photo, but there was no socket in the position they are in beside the bed to plug them in and so they cannot be used! The living room lacks a coffee table which is very inconvenient. The outside furniture (table) is filthy and covered in algal growth under the glass and is located in the yard at the back door and so was therefore not useable. There is a locked summer house attached to the house which is in a state of decay alongside the outside furniture which is not in the least bit appealing. Good location, some nice furnishings, lovely sunsets from the lawn, Didaro has potential to be a good let, but currently does not live up to expectations of the online photos and could do with some attention to detail and thought as to how holidaymakers may want to use the property.

Thank you for your feedback. Sorry to hear you weren’t completely satisfied with the property. We are working on the above points to improve the house. If you could share what was missing from the kitchen that you needed that would be helpful to? Many thanks Property Owner

  • "The cottage was very nice and modern BUT,total lack of instructions re cooker, oven,no warning regarding the tap in the kitchen re boiling hot,no information as to how we control the heating(which we needed due to bad weather)and although the distance to the pub and beach may be correct, I think it should be stated that this is very much up hill and down dale!"

!! Not even a welcome pack…Quite poor considering the cost

Sorry to hear about your frustration with the lack of instructions. An information booklet has now been added in the property. This is alongside the welcome pack of tea and coffee which you should have found upon arrival? I am glad you enjoyed the cottage and hope to welcome you back in the future Property Owner

  • "We had a lovely stay at Didaro."

The house is so cosy and comfy and perfect for a family getaway. The views from the living room are beautiful too. We visited with a two year old so the walk into Trearddur Bay was a little long for us but only a short drive and there were some lovely little beaches on the way. The host was super helpful too, even helping to put our shopping away!

Thank you for your lovely feedback. We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay and hope to welcome you back again in the future Property Owner

  • "Fabulous holiday home."

Perfect for a young family. However there was lack of instructions, hence no Wifi. The patio and bins also needed some attention, and a key for the patio doors would have been appreciated. But saying all that it is a lovely home, perfect location with great views. So much so - booked again for 2025. - Perfect

Thank you very much for your feedback. I am glad to hear you will be returning to Didaro next year. Thank you Property Owner

  • "Absolutely lovely property inside, great quality furnishings , spacious , light and airy rooms with everything you could need on holiday."

However the 2nd double room (without the en-suite) bed was not made up. Lovely quiet location with stunning pond and Mountain View’s , minutes from small, but beautiful beaches and about 10 mins walk from the larger beach at Trearddur bay itself. The garden was private and well kept but patio needed a good clean, the attached external “ sun room “ where out door furniture was stored was badly in need of repair and cleaning, As the property is a new listing this could already planned to be done. Garden furniture was good quality but needed a good clean before use. Kitchen oven was left with unwashed trays inside. The patio door was difficult to open and close and we were unsure if it locked properly as no instructions were left for use for anything in the property. NOTE If you’ve never used a “quooker” tap please be VERY careful as I scalded my hand on the hot was from it, Again there needs to be some sort of welcome instruction pack to advise how to use the utilities, washer, heating etc. we didn’t need them as weather was beautiful but others may welcome the information. Also we could not put rubbish bins out as was not told when the collection day was and bins were left already half full from previous renters. Having said all that I would highly recommend this property and would definitely stay again. We had a very comfortable and pleasant stay in lovely peaceful surroundings with regular visits of local wildlife in the garden and occasional flypasts by the jets from RAF valley nearby, which, while noisy, were infrequent and great to see. Thank you very much

Thank you for your feedback. I am pleased you appreciated the stunning location of this property. An instruction/information booklet has since been left, along with a CAUTION sign above the quooker hot tap. I am glad you got to see the amazing jets and hope to welcome you back in the future.
