Clean, comfortable and very friendly and hospitable owners. The gardens are beautifully maintained and the site is quiet and peaceful. Just a 5 minute drive to Porthmadog. Had a great stay and would highly recommend the property.

Stayed in Garden Cottage, an absolutely beautiful cottage, kitchen fitted out with everything you require, high quality furnishings throughout the cottage.

Lots of outdoor space to sit and relax. The grounds are just stunning, enjoy a stroll around the lake. Russ the host, what a gent, on hand to give advice or just to have a friendly chat with. If you can get this cottage booked ( or either of the other 2) you won’t be disappointed. Sure we will be back.

We have now stayed at Garden Cottage for four consecutive years.

We have several cottage holidays a year, but rarely return to the same one. However, Garden Cottage is exceptional. The hosts, Karen and Russ, keep the cottage, gardens and the extensive grounds in an especially high condition for us to enjoy a very relaxing holiday to the extent that there are some days when we don't even leave. However, there is much in the area to enjoy with lovely scenery and activities too. We look forward to next year when we will make visit No: 5 to Garden Cottage. Thank you Karen and Russ for another lovely holiday this year.

We had a fantastic stay at the Garden Cottage, what a beautiful cottage in a great location.

Kids loved to use the rowing boat and canoe on the beautiful lake. Hosts were extremely welcoming and got our stay to a great start.

This property was a wonderful find & set well off the main road surrounded by beautiful countryside.

Set in tranquil gardens with its own lake you would not know there were two other cottages & the owner’s own house within the same setting. It truly was idyllic. We were given a warm welcome & felt at home immediately. The property itself was ample for our needs with comfortable sofas & beds & a well equipped kitchen with a lovely outside sitting area too. Great location to explore North Wales from & would thoroughly recommend.

Excellent high quality cottage in a great spot.

Had to duck little upstairs but that's what you get in old buildings. Maybe a little more crockery would be useful, but we'd be happy to stay again anytime. Russ was on hand to answer any questions too.

We visit Garden Cottage annually and it never disappoints!

It is immaculate (as are the grounds). We love the location and proximity to many fantastic beaches and days out. Being able to bring the dog and take the rowing boats out on the lake is also a huge benefit for us. Russ is fantastic and is always on hand. We can’t recommend this beautiful cottage more highly!

Truly one of the best holiday cottages we have ever stayed in, Garden Cottage has it all.

Surrounded by stunning mountain views and nestled in rolling Welsh countryside, the owners Russ & Karen have created an idyllic haven which we did not want to leave! The grounds are exceptionally maintained with masses of huge Rhododendrons in full bloom, waterfalls of wisteria and the largest clematis blooms I’ve ever seen! Seating areas are scattered across the outdoor spaces and a beautiful summer house is nestled amongst trees for guests who seek simple solitude. As for the cottage itself, it is meticulously furnished and spotlessly clean, with everything in working order and Russ on hand should you need anything; such as a kettle drum BBQ which we used every night taking advantage of the gorgeous sunny weather! The only tiny wee note - and it really is tiny - would be to add a few more sundries such as washing up liquid, hand wash, bin bags & kitchen roll such like, though understandably the extra cost of this is acknowledged and it really did not affect our enjoyment one bit. Much appreciated the bara brith and Welsh cider upon arrival, and we will definitely be back! Thank you Russ & Karen (& Arthur) for such a wonderful holiday!

It’s a beautifully kept home and gardens with the bonus of the animals in the nearby fields! It completely made our short staycation staying somewhere so lovely and I can’t wait to book again. If you are contemplating booking this cottage, do it how! You won’t be disappointed:-)

First class holiday property in a superb setting.

We were welcomed by the owner Russ who showed us around the property and was at hand throughout our stay if we needed him.

He also had baked some delicious Bara Bread for us. Overall an excellent experience and will definitely be returning.

Upon arriving we received a warm, personal welcome from Russ, the owner.

Everything was fully explained. The property was warm, clean, and comfortable. It's in a delightful location with views over the surrounding countryside and with easy access to resorts and the Wales Coast Path. We had an enjoyable stay.

I brought two friends to stay in a beautiful place.

My twelfth visit to the cottages and I am always made so welcome. Russ checked we had settled in and we met the lovely new puppy. Beautiful countryside whether the coast or into the mountains. Loved the steam train from Porthmadog and the village of Portmeirion.

Great compact property that is spotlessly clean.

This was our second visit and cannot recommend it enough. Owners are really friendly and on hand in case of issues (we didn’t have any) and recommendations. One of the nicest cottages we have stayed in.

Home from home.

It had everything we needed to have a wonderful week's holiday and Russ and Karen were marvellous hosts.

We absolutely love Garden Cottage and return year on year.

It works so well for us as a family with 2 children and a small dog. Russ and Karen keep it & the grounds immaculate. The kitchen is fantastically well stocked with equipment and the welcome gift of bara brith and the pant du cider is gorgeous! Absolutely would recommend! Russ is always on hand and nothing is too much trouble. We love the boats and all the fantastic beaches and days out that are a stones throw from the cottage. Would also recommend eating at The Goat and the deli in Borth y Gest.

I love garden cottage.

It’s our second time here. My teenagers love the boating lake and have a lot of fun on it. We will be back.

We absolutely loved our stay in the Garden Cottage.

It’s in a gorgeous setting, great views and is really quiet, and the cottage itself had everything we needed. It was super clean, cozy and comfortable with everything you could ask for. It’s in a great location for Portmeirion, Porthmadog, Betws-y-Coed, and Snowdonia. North Wales is fabulous - the views of the mountains, beaches and coastal areas were so lovely. We could not have asked for more and would highly recommend it. Thank you!

I can’t fault this property.

We were met on arrival by the owner Russ, who explained how to work the TV, central heating etc. He also gave us ideas of dog friendly places to go and pubs to eat at. The cottage was cleaned to a high standard & the grounds are beautifully maintained. There is a private outside area with plenty of seating and a table. The welcome gift of homemade Bara Brith was delicious. There is a small lake on site with some boats if you fancy paddling around. I would highly recommend this cottage.

What a fantastic place to stay!

Great comfortable cottage with everything you could need. Russ and Karen and so friendly and helpful, top hosts! Beautiful gardens to explore, including a beautiful lake to chill out on (boat available) or next to! We had a fantastic time, weather was very kind to us and we were able to visit some great places in North Wales most less than 30-40 min drive from the cottage. Will be back next year to do more exploring!

We had a lovely week staying at Garden Cottage.

The cottage was tastefully decorated and well equipped. Russ and Karen were the perfect hosts. We love the range of activities available in the area, beautiful beaches, long walks and plenty of pubs and tea shops available when you need to dodge a shower!

It’s a great location for getting around all the sights. The cottage and grounds were just fabulous. The owners Karen and Russ were on hand if there was any problems, of which there were none. When we arrived the cottage was lovely and warm which was very welcoming. I can thoroughly recommend this location and we’ll definitely be back.

I have booked the cottages eleven times because I am made so welcome and such a beautiful part of Wales to visit.

We had snow on the mountains and sun on the sea. Perfect.

Our stay was absolutely wonderful, we really enjoyed our quiet evenings in the cottage, our kids absolutely loved their bedroom upstairs.

It was warm, it was very cosy and gave us a lot of beautiful memories. Russ was very helpful and welcoming, the surroundings are fantastic, nice big parking space and what was important for us - a place to walk the dogs. We will definitely come back when the weather is a bit warmer.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Garden Cottage. Owner was welcoming and polite. Cottage was spotless with everything you may need for an enjoyable stay. Lovely well maintained grounds with plenty of outdoor seating. There is a lovely lake which we enjoyed taking our dogs for a stroll around during the day. Location is central for lots of nice beaches and places of interest. This place is a credit to its owners, would definitely return. Thanks for the cake and Welsh cider, nice welcoming touch.

We had a wet week so we made the most of our cottage. What made the stay extra special was the setting. The grounds were beautifully kept and Russ was busy daily keeping it nice for guests. The lake was wonderful and we spent a lot of time down there messing about on the boats. Dogs and kids had a great time. Gold stars all round.

Garden Cottage.

.....wow wow wow. We had booked very very last minute for a week's break for myself and my 3 children, upon arrival I was greeted by the owner Russ, he was fantastic from the beginning to the end, showed us round the cottage and the stunning grounds, offered my kids to help him feed his geese and sheep if they would like. There is a beautiful lake on the grounds were you can either swim in it or go out on the little boats, or simply sit and relax reading a book. The cottage itself was stunning, very clean and homely, beds were very comfortable, plenty of room to put all your belongings. If you love a bath like I do, you will love the baths, lovely and deep and taps on the side! We most definately will be going back again in the summer it was a fantastic trip.

Garden Cottage is a lovely place to stay.

We have just returned from a week,and had a great time.The cottage was spotless,and warm ,with all the facilities you would need.The grounds are stunning,with a lovely lake,which was frozen solid,so didn’t get to try out the canoes!!Russ,the owner lives on site,and was very friendly,and helpful,and provided a bottle of wine & Bara brith cake on arrival,which went down a treat. Located in a great spot for exploring the area,and within 5 miles of the shops in Porthmadog.

Beautiful cottage with all the comforts.

Great location for Snowdon and other walks. Met on arrival and given a tour of facilities. The garden is completely dog safe which was our main reason for choosing this (unless yours can fit under a 4 inch gap under 1 small part, which we blocked with a garden chair just in case). We hope to book this cottage again next year.

Over the last eight years I have visited Garden Cottage.

Again I was made so welcome by the owners.A beautiful cottage and garden to enjoy whatever the weather! I look forward to my next visit and the opportunity to see so many interesting places on the coast or in the mountains.

This our 5th stay at Tyddyn Mawr in both the 1 bed and 2 bed cottage.

We have taken friends with us and like us they have been extremely surprised and satisfied with the high standard of the accommodation. Both Karen and Russ are just great friendly and helpful with nothing being too much trouble. Thanks to both for another great stay. Looking forward to our next.

We had a lovely week in a gorgeous cottage, set in lovely surroundings, the lake was a real bonus!

Only small comment would be that the shower heights were a little restrictive for any one over 6 feet tall, which might be useful information for prospective clients, but there are two baths as an alternative.

Absolutely perfect!

All pro's, no con's - totally faultless. Will definitely be back. Loved being on the lake every evening, and such a comfortable place to spend time at. Owners are lovely and grounds are probably the best I've ever since in a rental property. Glad I got to see it in the summer but would like to come back and see it in the winter. Couldn't recommend it enough!! Thank you!

Fantastic cottage in a great location for exploring the Llyn peninsula.

Our dog loved having the garden to run around and lake to swim in. The owners were very welcoming and friendly. Would highly recommend.

Absolutely beautiful location, cottage and surrounding gardens.

Came here in the middle of a heatwave where it was unbearably hot so to have a garden where my dog could come in and out and not be able to escape from was great, needed the airflow through the cottage. Place was clean and tidy when we got there, hosts were amazing and friendly as were the people staying in the neighbouring cottage. Great location even if you have a disabled person like I did, stairs were fine for her considering she finds new stairs hard to go up and down, she took to those easy. Close to Porthmadog which is dog friendly, loved taking my dog there and close to Herlech Beach too for a good run for the dog. 100% recommend, I'd give all the stars and hoping I'll be back one day to continue my exploration of Wales. Thank you guys for giving us a wonderful stay.

Garden Cottage is a superbly appointed property, set in the beautifully kept grounds of the owners.

Being some way off the main road up a private road, it is very quiet, apart from the sounds of nature. We will definitely looked to book again next year. Thank you for your hospitality.

Cottage was spotless on arrival. Gardens were outstanding. Very friendly and accommodating owners. Felt very welcome. Beautiful lake. Great to be able to use the canoes and rowing boat. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

we have stayed in many cottages in the area but we won’t look again…. This will be our go to cottage. A wonderful week, on arrival met by helpful and friendly owner with home made bara brith and wine. Cottage was beautiful very clean with everything needed for a comfortable stay. Secure outside space to let dogs go in and out, with beautiful surroundings to sit in including a lake which we used for paddle boarding and also used the canoes and rowing boat free to use. Will definitely be going back again later this year and again next year

This property was even better than we expected; very homely yet smart, extremely comfortable and well maintained.

We were made very welcome by Karen, Ross and family (both two and four legged!) who are happy to share their home and obvious love of this beautiful part of Wales. So much to do, within easy reach, for our adventurous daughter and teenage granddaughter - plus rowing and canoeing on the lake on the property was just the icing on the cake! Dolly, our Welsh rescue dog, loved it here too We would love to return to Garden Cottage one day.

Lovely place to stay, very welcoming, and nice location for accessing beaches.

Only gripe would be the 9am check out time being a bit brutal. Considering the check in time is 5 pm. Maybe this could be relaxed.

Beautiful cottage on a little farm with some very friendly sheep!

We loved every minute of our stay. Loved the open plan lounge dining room kitchen; worked so well for us and our pup! Lovely little enclosed garden too, and ample parking which is always handy. Bed was extremely comfy! We would love to come and stay again.

A beautifully decorated cottage in an excellent location.

Can thoroughly recommend it to anyone looking for a clean, quiet cottage set in stunning grounds with access to Lyn peninsular, Caernarfon and Snowdonia. The bara brith left to welcome us was delicious. Bring essentials (milk, bread etc) or shop in Porthmadog. The Goat just up the road was excellent for eating out (open every day except Mondays and Tuesdays0 Thank you for helping to make it a lovely break for us….. not forgetting Cymro our golden cocker, who had a lovely time too.

The cottage was absolutely lovely and in a fantastic location.

It was very clean and modern with excellent facilities. If I had a tiny gripe it was the comfort of one of the sofas (brown leather) almost impossible to sit on but ok for the kids. However I would definitely return.

We had a lovely holiday at Garden Cottage which is in a peaceful situation and well positioned to explore the Llyn peninsula.

The cottage is well equipped, cosy and comfortable. There is a good pub with excellent food nearby The Goat. We enjoyed exploring the wonderful valley of Cwm Pennant, wild, remote and beautiful. We were blessed with wonderful weather. Well the whole thing was a good experience!

Had everything you needed. Kitchen was immaculate and has everything to offer. All of the cottage was decorated to high standard with lovely pictures, chairs blankets etc. It was great that the kids had their own bathroom. Garden was secure to let dogs out in the dark off the lead. Owners were so lovely, welcoming and helpful- (Karen). We will be going back to this beautiful cottage.

What a find, this cottage is probably the best we have visited.

Everything was just great.We could not find anything to fault. The owners were very attentive and friendly and made us feel at home. We will certainly return in 2022.
