A superb stay from start to finish.

An unparalleled view and very modern accommodation. Everything was as expected and described and a simple check in. Whilst, I could see parking being more difficult at the height of season but for us it was never an issue.

Very comfortable, clean, and well kitted out with everything needed to make our stay a good one.

We really appreciated the fantastic view from the dining table, and thanks to the good weather, we were able to enjoy breakfast each morning with the bifold windows fully open, looking out over the harbour.

Loved Porthmadog and surrounding area, so much to see and do.

Also loved the accommodation, 3 double bedrooms was a massive nice surprise as too was the amazing view from the front facing windows.

We’ve stayed in lots of beautiful places but this tops them all.

Mountain and harbour panoramic views. Wow. As soon as we walked in we knew we were onto a good thing. I had concerns it only had two bedrooms, from the description, but it had three lovely sized double bedrooms. The decor was absolutely spot on and it was spotlessly clean. There has been great attention to detail put in and lots of easy to use mod cons. The location was fab for going exploring and grabbing bites out to eat. We very much enjoyed the Italian restaurant a stones through away. I strongly recommend anyone to stay here.

We loved our stay at the sail loft.

The flat is very tastefully done up and had everything we needed, from appliances to cutlery and cooking utensils. The view from the living/dining area was wonderful and we thoroughly enjoyed watching the sunset as we dined. Owners were responsive when we had queries or issues. The location is also fantastic - and easy walk into Porthmadog where there are supermarkets and coffee shops, and not far at all to beaches ans tourist destinations such as Portmeirion. A couple of small things for improvement - we were asked to take all rubbish out but there was no code provided for the courtyard where the bins are stored (at least we couldn’t find one), the carpet hadn’t been thoroughly hoovered (we found the odd clump of hair on our arrival) and personally, we’re not the biggest fans of carpeted WCs, but these are all minor things and didn’t affect our stay and certainly wouldn’t stop us staying at the flat again. Overall a wonderful place, which we would recommend to others!

A beautiful place in a great location.

Central for exploring but also everything on your doorstep. You don't need the television. It is great to watch the world go by from the dining room table. Beaches and pubs nearby. Everywhere dog friendly. We loved our week there. It went too quickly.

The steps are a bit of a pain- but we knew about them so they weren’t a shock . We parked on the street which was much easier than the private courtyard… the courtyard could do with a suggested parking plan- we were worried another car would block us in. We were very grateful to visit out of season so it wasn’t an issue for us at all.

The view from the lounge window is stunning. It is very much a home from home and more! Would definitely recommend.

This property has a marvellous view over Porthmadog, the cob and the mountains beyond.

This is a beautiful property well designed and comfortable. It is worth the climb of 39 steps from the roadside. However, it is not suitable for those who can't manage a lot of rough steps. The property is well equipped with modern features and appliances. The electric hob was a nightmare even after reading the instructions. There is a large fridge freezer in a cupboard in the hall which we did not find until our last day. A little more help in the folder please. Parking was a problem. The Sykes website and email were confusing and lacked clarity. We arrived to find our parking outside the property occupied by the cleaner's car (and later by another car). The overflow off road parking for two cars was via a narrow gate enclosing a tight walled area which we thought was just ours. Not so, another car arrived for the ground floor flat and squeezed in beside ours' making it difficult to get in or out. To make things more difficult this area had a chain and combination lock which the cleaner insisted was on at all times. (This made it dangerous for the ground floor flat whose emergency exit was via this gate.) But aside from these problems we enjoyed the Festiniog Jubilee weekend - Watching the trains come and go from the giant picture window

Amazing Apartment!

Superb location, right on the Harbour, most stunning View out of the main room window! Perfect Apartment with everything you need for your stay, like a home from home. Beds are super comfy. We had the best 4 x Nights stay here and would 100% recommend it, do not hesitate to book this Apartment.

Such a beautiful, spotlessly clean and very well equipped apartment.

The location is perfect, plenty of pubs and eateries within walking distance. May I make just one small suggestion… When we arrived it was late and very cold, it would have been amazing if there were logs, firefighters and kindling to light the fire, with perhaps a little note asking us to replace what was used. Highly recommended and will most definately return.

We were unfortunately let down at very short notice on our original booking at another property, but we were so glad we were because The Sail Loft was wonderful for my birthday getaway.

The owners even offered us an early check-in and later check out, which was very thoughtful. The log burner and christmas decorations gave the property a lovely cosy feel. The 39 steps are not as bad as previous reviews have commented on and worth it for the beautiful views from the Loft.

The apartment was as described.

Furnished to a high specification with all the kitchen & dining items you require. The views are spectacular, especially of sunrise over the hills. Easily within walking distance of the station, shops & restaurants. Our only reservations were about the dangerous nature of the stairs inside & out. Part of the kitchen opens directly onto top step, without any guarding. The outside steps were not lit and therefore dangerous in the dark.

We enjoyed our stay very much.

The apartment was comfortable and had everything we needed. The only thing I would like to mention is the late check in and early check out times.

Parking is challenging depending on how busy Porthmadog is due to events and weather.

The leaving time of 9:00am is also too early. Everything else, including facilities and location is excellent.

A beautifully designed and renovated apartment over two floor and upside down!

Just loved it and it had some really thoughtful touches too. Of course, the views are stunning, very addictive watching trains and boats and planes, across the harbour but the accommodation Is outstanding! Car parking was not a problem either with a free car park within feet of the Sail Loft. My only problem is - I don't own it!!

The listing indicated that there was two parking places but later in the listing it says "First Come First Served" which is not the same.

Parking near the apartment was not easy. The instructions gave an entry code for the car park, but there was no lock on the gates which looked as though they haven't been used in some time. This is a shame as the view from the apartment would take some beating making the 39 steps up to the apartment worth while. The apartment was very well fit out with quality equipment. The on-suite toilet seat didn't fit and we found the oven/hob not easy to work out how to use.

We loved staying at the Sail Loft.

It is so well equipped and made us feel at home. The apartment has great views over the harbour and Snowdonia National Park.

Fantastic accommodation very much home from home with every little thing catered for and much more.

The views are fantastic over the harbour and will miss sitting watching the world go by. The location is central for travelling around with helpful information at hand. The only negative I have is we were unaware of the 39 steps to the property, we had elderly in-laws in our party who did struggle but it would not stop us from revisiting

A fantastically situated property, extraordinarily comfortable and well presented.

Only one issue, my wife who is reasonably active had a real problem with the harbour steps, 39 of them and deep deep steps!!

All being over 65 was bit restricting if going in and out a lot .

This should be ok for able people but some with knee, hip,leg or back problems would struggle. Once in flat it is the best view we have had from a Sykes holiday cottage .

This is a home from home at a luxury level.

The decor and attention to detail is next to none. The pictures on the site do not do it full justice. We stayed during a heatwave. Being able to fully open the spectacular dining area window, made it feel like we were actually in the marina. That was just the cherry on the cake that made this a very memorable 5+ star holiday. Absolutely fantastic apartment with everything you could possibly need!

The views from the living space were stunning - we really enjoyed spending time in there. The photos make the apartment look quite small but we were surprised at how spacious it actually was and the steps up the apartment weren’t difficult either! The owners were friendly and extremely accommodating. We will definitely be recommending it and hope to be back again one day - thank you!

Fabulous property.

Loved the location and the views from the dining table. A well thought out renovation, which was perfect for our stay. Planing to return later in the year. My only suggestion is for there to be a lock fitted to the communal bathroom door.

Fantastic apartment, had everything it said and or we needed for our trip comfy sofa, bed, views fabulous, great location for our continuation of the Welsh coastal path one of the best places we have stayed so far very clean also, our only criticism would be the checkout time of 9am after a fabulous week to have to rush around on the last morning was a shame , understandable during covid but not now, 10.

30 would have given us the views for one more breakfast!

The sail loft was an excellent base for north wales and especially for snowdonia.

The apartment had everything u needed an was fitted out to a high standard. We found our stay very warm an comfortable and would certainly return. Only issue was we couldn’t find the guest book so we could leave our 5 star review thank u

The Sail Loft exceeded our expectations - it was perfect.

We were a little worried because the pictures make the internal stairs look steep and the kitchen area quite small, but this is not the case at all. It is all beautifully decorated and there are lots of little touches that make life that little bit easier (eg doorstop weight decorative items on the windowsills so you can stop the blinds flapping in the wind. It seems crazy to mention it, but it made a huge difference. There are lots of leaflets and info on things to do, and even a pair of binoculars. The 39 steps to the property are not for the faint hearted, but even with a dodgy knee it was manageable the couple of times a day I did them. Luckily I have a fit husband that could carry the suitcase up and down! Parking - luckily we were there in the dip between the Jubilee weekend and school holidays, so we could always get into the gated parking area. If it had been busier there is free parking just a little way down from the property, or worse case more parking just down the road. Also the shower was lovely! All in all we would definitely stay here again.

Just a couple of little things the check out time is to early 10.

00 would be better when your on holiday and check in 15.00 ? . Could do with extra toilet roll. We couldn’t find guest book? .a beautiful apartment with everything we needed thank you.

Property is absolutely stunning.

The attention to detail is excellent and there is loads of storage. It has been designed very well. The views over the harbour are great and the location couldn’t be any better. Plenty to see and do around Porthmadog. We will definitely be returning and staying in the sail loft again.

Lovely apartment, well fitted and equipped.

The decor was great, plenty of info to hand, all mod cons looked nearly new. The accommodation is fabulous but what sells it and makes it worth staying at is the absolutely great views from the top floor. It was great to spend an evening at the dining table watching the world outside, but equally fab is enjoying the morning sun and changing views from that same seating.

This property is absolutely beautiful.

There was nothing the owners had thought of. We booked it for a special treat for our 50th birthday (3 friends) and from the minute we walked through the door we felt totally spoilt! The view from the living room was to die for, the beds were so comfy and a bonus of having a double room each was great. The attention to detail was second to none! We didn’t want to leave! The only thing we could say that was a negative but all part of the charm is if you have mobility problems then this property isn’t for you as the steps up was so steep, the pay off tho is the amazing view and so worth the climb. We will most certainly be back and will be recommending it to all our friends. Shame we couldn’t find the guest book to let the owners know about our stay but we’d like to say ‘thank you’ for thinking of everything you have a beautiful apartment and we cant wait to come back.

Excellent home, The Sail Loft was ideally located, clean, interior decorated with real thought & view fantastic to wake up to The amenities provided were perfect, from fresh towels to biscuits, milk, logs for the fire & anything else you needed, the care taken greatly appreciated Bathroom felt like brand new, bedrooms x3 had plenty of storage space albeit slightly tight for grown adults but we were in Wales where most properties are traditionally small I noted on the prior posts about the space upstairs & the new L shaped sofa is great, we are relaxed in real comfort The stairs to property are not that easy to climb but totally recognise that you have advised as such in your write up Thank you for letting us stay in your wonderful home

An absolutely stunning apartment, very well equipped and extremely clean.

Obvious much care has gone into this property and it felt like home immediately. Well worth the money and with great views of the harbour and the mountains beyond (when the rain and sleet lifted...)

I have just returned from a weekend at The Sail Loft in Porthmadog.

This property has been refurbished to a very high standard with beautiful views over the harbour and to the hills beyond. However, I was disappointed to find that this property is too small for six people. In particular your website states “the lounge area is perfect for cosying up with your group”. There is only a two-seater sofa and a pouffe, so the other three members of my party had to sit on dining chairs every evening. It is November with dark evening so this was a long time particularly for people in their 70s and 80s. You were aware of our ages and this should have been made clearer! Your description of the property states, “sleeps 6, bedrooms 3, bathrooms 2”. Unfortunately, I didn’t notice that the small print indicated that the en-suite was only a small cloakroom and not a second bathroom. I had thought, and indeed expected, that a place for six people would have more than one shower or bath. It would seem that the”professional interior designers” put style before substance when refurbishing! I also had to buy; - toilet rolls as there were only two supplied for six people on a three night break! - dishwasher tablets as only two supplied. There isn’t a lock on the bathroom door. The kitchen needs a couple more saucepans - only one, a milk pan, a frying pan and a casserole. I am not sure if you have checked out this property, but I think you should make it clear to future guests that, although there are three double bedrooms it is only suitable for a maximum of three people. The views are wonderful especially the sun rise Probably the best accommodation we have stayed in!! One small issue is that their is not enough comfy seating for the long winter evenings and we were just 3 !! We found plenty to do despite a shutdown of facilities-trains and boats etc . Wonderful scenery and we would definitely recommend an out of season holiday at this property

We really enjoyed our stay at the Sail Loft, and appreciated the additional items left by the owners eg fuel for the fire, welsh cakes, jam, milk in the fridge etc.

The accomodation was very well equipped and maintained. Our only negative comment is that we think it would have been uncomfortable for the maximum of six guests - while it can sleep six, there wouldn't be enough places to sit! This didn't affect us at all because we were just three, but we would have been very disappointed if we had booked this accomodation for a party of six.

Perfect location and the most stunning view of the mountains, the estuary and the steam trains from the bifold windows.

Beautifully styled apartment with everything we needed and very friendly owner who texted to ask if all ok on arrival day. Easy to get to the mountains with lakes and waterfalls. Portmeirion is a 50 minute walk across the Cob. The coastal path to the right takes you to Borth y Gest in 15 mins and then Black Rock Sands beach in about an hour. In the car the beach is only 6 mins away and it’s beautiful. Not an ideal place for anyone with mobility issues or young children as lots of stone steps to access the apt and open tread stairs inside. The living space upstairs is beautiful but very compact . The sofa only sits two but that didn’t worry us as we sat at the table looking out at the stunning view!
