  • “A fantastic stay in a beautifully appointed cottage.”

We could not have asked for better. Cottage was so clean and fresh, provided everything we needed, so well equipped.

We could not have asked for better. Cottage was so clean and fresh, provided everything we needed, so well equipped. Super location for exploring Snowdonia and surrounding areas. We can’t wait to come back in a different season and enjoy the cosy log fire in such a stunning place. Thank you so much for one of the best self catering accommodations we’ve ever stayed. Highly recommend to all! ++++

The property

Settled at the centre of the town of Blaenau Ffestiniog is this charming end-of-terrace cottage, Yr Hen Dy Capel. Boasting a marvellous base for a family of five to explore the Snowdonia National Park, you’re sure to find excitement around every corner of this area of Wales. Walk past your private enclosed patio area and through the front door to be greeted by a homely spot to spend your holiday.

Step into the sitting room and take a seat into the plush sofa, lighting up the woodburning stove for that extra bit of warmth in the winter months, this room makes a great spot to spend a relaxing evening when you’re not exploring the delights of the local town.

To the other side of the property is the contemporary-styled kitchen/diner, here you can prepare tasty treats using the supplied essentials, enjoy a family game night around the dining table, and toast to a wonderful holiday.

On the first floor are the three bright and airy bedrooms, featuring a double, a twin and a single room (more suitable for a child – bed is 5-foot), providing an ideal set up for a family or group of friends looking for a snug spot to rest in between adventures.

To the rear of the dwelling is a raised garden area where you can enjoy your morning coffee and the fresh countryside breeze.

The immediate location of the property is great for those seeking an action-packed break, with the town playing host to a variety of shops and eateries, historic landmarks, and the renowned Zip World Slate Caverns (half a mile away - the longest zip line in Europe), there’s plenty of adventure to discover on your doorstep.

Choose to explore the delights of the Snowdonia National Park up close and take the trek to the summit to be greeted by extraordinary landscapes like no other.

Within reach by a scenic car journey you can find Portmeirion, an attractive Italianate village boasting character and charm, it’s well-worth a visit as well as Criccieth and Harlech Castles and various beautiful beaches.
