The cottage has the most fabulous view and the surrounding countryside is wonderful.

We had some trouble with our car which wouldn't start on the first day. Dilys and Dai and their son and his wife couldn't have been more helpful and if it hadn't been for them we would have been really stuck. We can't praise them enough. Kathy & Michael

This has been an amazing stay.

However the electric heating can be a little tricky, in addition to the lack of mobile network coverage.

The owners are friendly and thoughtful and we had a wonderful stay. Highly recommended! Steep stairs to the attic bedroom, but worth the climb. Charming place.

We should have read the description with a little more investigative questioning.

The cottage is isolated with no internet at all and unfortunately no phone signal for either EE or iD networks. It is an old cottage with damp and insects that like that environment. The TV reception was poor on some nights but not others. The kitchen was well equipped - just lacking a fish slice - and the hob and oven was handy. The shower was inadequate - poor output. But it did have a lovely bath. Having said all that we had a wonderful time in the area. The owner Dilys was a lovely lady. She lived on-site in another property and her son lived next door to our cottage. Very helpful and friendly. There were about 4 rentals on the site which had beautiful views across the valley. Unfortunately for us there were road works for the week we stayed which made getting in and out of the village a bit like a cross country RAC rally. There was a pub and a well stocked Londis about 700m down the hill.

The main reason for our visit was to climb Snowden but decided to stay a week as it was my husbands birthday.

The cottage is gorgeous and very quaint. The scenery from the cottage is beautiful. Unfortunately the weather wasn't very kind to us and we weren't able to sit outside but we still got to appreciate the surroundings. Mr and Mrs Roberts were lovely and very accommodating. The cottage is in a great location, close to Betws-y-coed a lovely town with lots of interesting shops and scenery. Lots of hikers and dog walkers. We found the local people lovely and welcoming too.

We absolutely loved the cottage, it was such a relaxing stay and we can’t wait to come back.

The position in Penmachno is very good, in this delightful village.

Mine was a winter stay in a property which I imagine doesn’t come into its own until the summer months. Heating was an issue in the main bedroom and especially the bathroom. The fire is electric not open/real. The plus is the owners are in the adjacent bungalow and are responsive but as there’s no phone reception or wifi you have to physically knock their door. In warmer months this would be an ideal stay for a family with children who are old enough to manage the steep staircase with alternating half steps. There’s a curtain across the top of the steps (not a door).

We really enjoyed the stay in the cottage.

It's in a good location to explore all the beautiful waterfalls, valleys and Snowdon. The idea to explore Wales as a holiday was originally booked before we brought a puppy but we rebooked for the following year in this scenic cottage that accepted pets. All the walks were breathtaking and we were out from dawn til dusk. A different kind of break for our family and even our autistic son loved the cabin bed. Only concerns were no phone signal until exiting the village so use a map or pull over to route once on way and we had to tread carefully in the garden as a few areas of paving were loose. Overall I would recommend this cottage it didn't feel cramped with 2 Adults, 3 Children and a medium sized dog. Many thanks and all the best.

We had a lovely week here in this stone cottage, the quiet location coupled with stunning scenery was perfect, ideally located for exploring north Wales.

Very nice cottage with lots of character, scenery gorgeous and owners were very friendly.

We had a brilliant few days at the cottage beautiful views and the hosts were very friendly would go again

Small property, the host and wife were lovely but unfortunately the daughter in law left a lot to be desired, frightening my grandchildren and they wanted to leave early and could not sleep.

Me and my partner just stayed here with our small dog.

We had a slightly different accomodation but it was just as lovely and had all the facilities we needed. I didn't get to meet the owners as I kept missing them or hid the dog away so he wouldn't be so loud barking at them. However my partner met them a few times and they were so lovely and welcoming and couldn't be more helpful. It really made us feel at ease. They were extremely dog friendly and the accomodation had the most beautiful views. We would definitely come back and stay again. Thank you so much for such a lovely stay. Henrhiw Bach is a super little cottage!

Much bigger on the inside than it looks, good sized bright and airy bathroom, with bath, shower and piping hot water, all the kitchen facilities and parephenalia you could want, two bedrooms with double beds and another comfy single bed / settle which I slept on like a baby. Delightful owners Ken and Phyllis who made us very welcome. The views all around are simply beautiful, total peace and quiet only the sound of the river Dee down in the valley below. Thoroughly recommend a stay here to rest and re-charge. Dog walks right outside and well placed to drive in any direction for hill walking, castles or beaches. I had teenagers with me and although there was no internet in the cottage, my daughter's worked outside and as soon as we left the village in the car they were able to catch up anyway on all that social media I was glad to be away from for a week! Small Spar with Post Office in the village below for any essentials. A well needed, cosy stay in the green valleys of Wales, thank you!

Would have been nice to know that the cottage is in a mobile phone dead zone and had no wi-fi

We very much appreciated the authentic, rustic, cosy cottage in a most peaceful and idyllic location.

It was well equipped with everything one may need and the garden was an absolute delight. We loved the sheep wandering past the kitchen window! My husband, previously a photo journalist, thoroughly enjoyed the fact that there was no wifi or phone signal

Enjoyed our stay.

The cottage looks out on some really great views of the countryside and village. Beds were comfortable. Cooker easy to use. A good supply of kitchen utensils. The fridge was a bit small but understand space is limited. Very peaceful location. One small drawback- We couldn't get hot water from the taps. We stuck with boiling the kettle all week for washing up ,until at last minute owner mentioned there was a switch in the kitchen for it. that we didn't realize . The shower did have hot water though. Friendly owners. Overall had a good stay and would book again.

Lovely 17th century cottage, which is very comfortable and which has everything you need for a weeks self catering.

Great base location if you are planning on hiking. Owner was lovely, friendly and cared about smallest detail. Cottage itself is well equipped and looking really cosy. We had wonderful time, and definitely will be back again!

Lovely little cottage in a beautiful setting overlooking the valley.

Owners were very friendly and helpful. Came home one day and a new gate had been fitted as the old one wouldn’t shut properly. Came and asked if it was ok to cut the grass. Would recommend this place if you want a peaceful cottage in Snowdonia.

Property is ideal for a couple, good to have friendly owner’s available should you need them, internet due to location pretty much none existent, however quite nice to be out of touch for a change

Had a lovely stay over the new year, owners were so lovely, there to greet us when we arrived, cottage was clean and warm, would definitely stay here again.

The bathroom needs heating was freezing storage heater doesn't work it was replaced by electric blow heater which turns itself off after 10 seconds very cold n damp 3 towels to share with 4 guests and nowhere to dry damp towels very disappointed (knocked at main house twice for more towels no reply) no poppy bedlinen and lots of cobwebs about downstairs bedroom cold n damp.

. But Beautiful views n quaint little cottage but needs moderning sorry not for us would not return

It's a beautiful place, the cottage is well equipped, cozy and warm.

The owners are friendly and very helpful. There is no wify, you can pick the signal up from one of the other cottages, in the carpark. We had a great time.

The owners went out of their way to ensure our stay was enjoyable; checking everything was ok, supplying wood/coal for a night and leaving coffee/tea and welsh cakes for our arrival.

The rooms were very clean and the kitchen had everything we needed. The cottage was on the cool side as rooms only heated by storage heaters but the open fire in the living room meant evenings were very comfortable and the childrens' loft bedroom was also warm.The owners offered us portable electric heaters too.The cottage is perfect for a short stay in both location and facilities.

unfortunately there was used sanitary products in the bin on arrival.

also used tissues in bedroom bin. be careful as on website it States bedroom one has 1 X double bed and 1 X sofa bed. bedroom two has 1 X double bed and one sofa bed. this is not right as not enough room for a sofa bed in the bedrooms. hardly room to walk around the beds. Freeview does not work even though advertised. Some of the heaters don't work.

This cottage is in a superb location for mountain bikes as it’s so close to the trail, Tank enjoyed his stay although he did manage to get under the garden gate (being a JRT) and scampered off to the next house on a little adventure!

Owners were able very welcoming and it was lovely to be created by Spot when we arrived :).

Little more accurate detail of accommodation, ie fire was not log burner , it was electric.

Bedroom upstairs was very difficult to access due to stairs being difficult to climb .

Superb view with great access to the Penmachno mountain bike trails. Property owners were lovely people too.

The cottage was advertised as having a real open fire, it was an electric blown air fake log burner.

The mattress in the single bed in the ground floor and the double upstairs are just awful, the springs dug in your back when you laid on it. The toilet was really dirty round the seat. The storage heaters in the bathroom lounge and dining room did not work. We had to stay in another cottage on the first night as a fuse blew in our cottage. The owners did not know what to do, they brought us no candles or torches and eventually at midnight we went into an empty cottage they had. It had not been cleaned from the previous people and we had to take all our bedding off the cottage we were in and make the beds ourselves. The settee in that cottage had a section on the seat about 30cm square that had been patched up with black tape. We would not return as it was do below the standard that would be delivered. And would not book through Sykes as the description was not accurate. Very disappointing as we have not stayed in a cottage for many years and it was a present for my husbsnds mums 70th.

The careful modernization of this old cottage retained it's character while making it comfortable with all the usual amenities. Dai and Dilys Roberts were warm and friendly, welcoming us like family. The views from the private garden were spectacular and the evening walk to The Eagles pub was delightful with wild blackberries to pick on the way. The villagers were kind and friendly. Henrhiw Bach felt like coming home. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a wonderful experience in rural Wales.
