The old workshop is a beautiful place, we don’t have a single negative thing to say, it’s very home from home, everything is catered for as standard and the decor and fixtures are all the best quality, all in all it’s a stunning place and I would recommend to anyone going there.

Wow!

A truly unforgettable stay. I’ve stayed in plenty of Sykes properties and some amazing ones at that, but this has set the bar for future stays. The Old Workshop is absolutely stunning and wowed from arrival to departure. I was blown away by the property’s beauty. It’s secure, spacious, stylishly furnished (while keeping character) and has everything you’d need. The photos don’t do it justice. The cosy king-size bed and pillows made for a perfect night’s sleep. The freestanding bath and rainfall shower were luxurious. After a day exploring, there was nothing better than unwinding in the bath and hot tub, taking in the relaxing countryside views. The thoughtful welcome treats of Prosecco, Welsh cakes, homemade marmalade and jam were a nice surprise and much appreciated. The owners are really friendly and helpful, if needed. Make sure to pay attention to the instructions provided to find the property, as it’s tucked away in a peaceful spot. North Wales is so relaxing and picturesque. Denbigh itself was charming and offers all necessary amenities. The castle is well worth a look. Visited the following places further afield: - Angel Bay & Rhos on Sea (25-35 mins) : seals are in the bay! - Conwy (30 mins) : lots of history - Llandudno (35 mins) : seaside vibes - Betws-y-Coed (40 mins) : nature at its best - Lake Bala and Lake Bala Steam Railway (45 mins) : beautiful views - Llanfairpwllgwyngyll & Menai Suspension Bridge: the longest train station name (50 mins) - Aber Falls (55 mins) : stunning waterfall - Penmon Point, Puffin Island & Beaumaris : puffins, sea birds and even a sea lion! (1 hour) - Ynys Llanddwyn and Newborough Forest (1hr 10mins) : one of my favourite places with wild ponies, if you’re lucky! Had some incredible food. Highlights included: - Con Amici Italian Kitchen, Denbigh (3 mins drive or 15 mins walk) - Nant Y Felin, Pentre Llanrhaeadr (6 mins) - Dionyssos, Rhos on Sea (25 mins) - Bryn Williams Porth Eirias, Colwyn Bay (25 mins) - Benjamin Lee Artisan Bakery, Llandudno (35 mins) - Sage Kitchen, Menai Bridge (50 mins) : stopped here on the way back from seeing Anglesey Really didn’t want to leave and would’ve loved to have stayed for longer. Can’t recommend highly enough. Thanks so much for a wonderful mini break! Until next time…

We had a truly wonderful and memorable stay at The Old Workshop.

The cottage was cosy, elegant, and spotlessly clean — set in a beautiful and peaceful location. My only suggestion would be to consider adding an AC cooling fan, as the upstairs bedroom became quite warm during the hot weather (although we did appreciate the fan provided). Aside from that, everything was thoughtfully catered for and maintained to a very high standard. Thank you for a lovely stay and we hope to return again soon!

We had a wonderful holiday in North Wales.

The Old Workshop was amazing! It had everything you need to make it a home away from home. The hot tub was fab! Thank you for the welcome gifts too (we don't drink alcohol so left the bottle of Prosecco - sorry!). Beautiful, secluded area which was great. No noise from outside. Utter bliss! We would definitely love to stay here again. Highly recommend this lovely property.

It is very modern and well maintained. It is very comfortable, with great heating and wood burning stove. I have absolutely no complaints!

A wonderful and amazing property.

Extremely difficult to find space and luxury in a 2 person property but this one delivers in spades. Cannot recommend this property highly enough.

What an amazing property to stay in.

Couldn't ask for any better. No expense spared on the old workshop. The hosts are very friendly and welcoming. We was able to check in earlier than the confirmed time as it was ready for us. This was a massive help as we had travelled over 3 hours to get there. The old workshop ticks all the boxes. It's got everything you need to be able to enjoy the stay here. Super comfy bed, lovely hot tub to relax in. Stunning views from the lounge. The location of this property is also really good. An hours drive and your in snowdonia. There's a local town with shops. Security is good you enter through electric gates and aren't around any other houses. I would definitely stay here again in the future. Thank you for making it so relaxing for us!

The Old Workshop is a great space and felt very welcoming the utility area is brilliant we loved the bath and the separate shower the bed was very comfy and bedding was clean! We would definitely recommend and would return here ourselves also. Thank you for a lovely stay!

The place is beautifully designed and decorated and had everything we needed to make it a comfortable stay. The weather was glorious on one day and wet on another but still made good use of the hot tub. We did have a bat join us and no idea where it came from but it soon managed to find its way out. Would highly recommend to friends and would return again.

Great stay we had!

Lovely area with everything needed close by which was perfect! Very very clean spot, not a spec of dirt. Would defiantly recommend this spot to anyone who’s looking for a place to chill out and relax! 10/10! Only thing that we would possibly recommend is maybe a tv in the room or even a projector that comes down from ceiling but that’s personal choice really.

The host was 1st class, and if I could give this place a 6 I would, outstanding quality, had a lovely stay, highly recommend .

The converted barn type property was immaculate, love our time there for my GFs 20th Birthday.

Recommendations on everything you need locally and at a drives distance, made it perfect. Only one tiny issue was the wifi was down for the stay as the weather, no signal within so your a bit closed off. Not a major issue and cant be helped so havent marked down for this. Honestly cant fault anything else.

This was our second stay here and it was just as good as our first time!

It has everything we could wish for so we are highly likely to return a third time!

Only thing that let it down where the flies god knows where they came from in the middle of winter but we didn’t see any after the first day, lovely welcome gifts everything you need.

We stayed this time, for the christmas period and had the most amazing time. This property is simply pure luxury and we cannot fault anything. The hosts are very thoughtful, helpful and respectful. The hot tub was delightful and certainly helped heal the aches and pains of working life!!! Felt thoroughly relaxed and rested and was sad to leave! Will definitely return again.

Lovely little welcome gifts and absolutely spotless. Me and my partner found out we are having a baby girl here so the memories of this beautiful cottage will stay with us forever! I honestly can’t wait to return.

Great location too, within an hour of many of North Wales top attractions. Highlights include Conwy with its walled town and castle, Portmerion and Llandudno.

We have just had 2 weeks at The Old Workshop and it was by far one of the best holidays we have had.

The cottage was immaculate & felt like a home from home. Everything you could possibly need was there - just perfect. The location was superb for exploring the area - very central to a lot of things & not too far from places to go either. The hot tub was fantastic too - one of the most comfortable we have used. It was so lovely that the owners left you to it and didn’t bother you at all, however, if you needed anything they were on hand straight away with just a text. There is nothing worse than staying somewhere & the owners are round every 2 minutes! Anyone visiting, we’d highly recommend Bodnant Gardens, Snowdon Mountain Railway, a walk along the sea front from Colwyn Bay to Llandudno, Portmeirion (one of the most stunning places we’ve ever been to) & a lovely forest walk at Llandegla - to name just a few!! There is so much to do… oh, and try Con Amici Italian restaurant - just a short walk down the road and very good food! The only tiny comments we’d make (and this is being really very picky), is that a little more cutlery would be good, a couple more decent sized mugs (this would stop the dishwasher having to be on so much, or the need for hand washing) & a decent sized oven dish to make pasta bakes etc., but as I say, this is almost searching for something “wrong”. This was the best cottage we’ve stayed in in the UK, and we’ve stayed at many places! Don’t hesitate - book it :). We cannot wait to return.

Everything was lovely and very clean , it’s just a shame the hot hub wasn’t working 100% but couldn’t fault it in any other way.

The stay at old workshop was great base and the house was beautifully set out and so cosy the little details like the milk and Welsh cakes was a lovely little touch, even though the hot tub was missing a part it still worked perfectly the only extra we say would be having extra tea bags can’t wait to come back

Place is amazing.

Hot tub is lovely. Everything to a high standard the only points I see that let it done. For the price they’ve Harte I would’ve expected a bigger bed. And the bath tub takes a lifetime to fill up.

We had an absolutely fantastic time, the property was superb, very clean and modern and had everything we needed and more, we will totally recommend you to all our friends and family.

A fabulous renovation that has everything you need to enjoy a relaxing holiday.

Spotlessly clean & well maintained. Enough logs for a fire each night, a hot tub just outside the door, free parking & a great base to explore north wales. Tip: Just check before you go on the opening days for castles etc as most don’t open till mid March & then only on weekends.

Absolutely beautiful property!

10/10 for comfort and cleanliness. The log burner was perfect and the hot tub clean and fabulous. Couldn’t fault the property. Only thing was the radiators didn’t seem to come on during our stay which wasn’t a huge issue as the log burner heats up the whole building, was just chilly during night time but can’t fault it. Plus I’m sure if we let the owners know they’d be straight over but wasn’t such a bother for us. Such beautiful scenery and not far from shops/restaurants. Will be returning in the future and recommending to all our family and friends!!

This was our second visit to the Old Workshop and we loved it as much as the first.

Every aspect of the cottage is perfect and it is in a great location near to the beaches and attractions. We hope to make it an annual stay.

We stayed here over New Year and wow, what a find!

It’s an absolutely stunning property furnished to a high standard, the attention to detail is spot on. I would definitely recommend and would stay again without doubt.

The property was absolutely stunning.

Really well designed and a lot of thought has obviously gone into the design. All fixtures and fittings were luxury, they had thought of everything - utensils, cooking facilities, linen, cleaning bits etc. The property was the cleanest we had ever stayed in and a lovely touch of providing wine, tea/coffee/milk on arrival. Hot tub was perfect and easy to use. Instructions given were clear and covered everything. The host was extremely friendly and responded to a text message within 1 minute to answer a question. The property was private and out of the way to enjoy some peace and quiet. Although out of the way - Denbigh is walkable and pubs/restaurant all within 20 minutes walk.

Our stay was absolutely fantastic and relaxing.

We had snow on arrival which made using the fire more cosy. The place was extremely well equipped with everything you might need for your stay. The owners are so lovely and friendly too. We would recommend the place to others and would return

Fantastic property!

Finished to extremely high standards, with everything you could possibly need for an enjoyable break in North Wales. Spacious, private, modern but not stark, it was probably one of the nicest places we’ve stayed. We’ll definitely be back!

The property was spotless and the hot tub really enjoyable and we would certainly recommend the property to our friends with a couple of caveats.

The living area seating had no legs, or very tiny ones, and being of a certain vintage, but otherwise fit and mobile, we had trouble getting up from the seating so anyone with even slight mobility problems would have real difficulty. We thought that the amount of cutlery and crockery was a bit sparse which resulted in having to wash it rather than use the dishwasher.

A few days away to relax and we were not disappointed!

Fantastic well equipped cottage ! The extra touches were appreciated thank you ! Private garden to soak up the sun and great hot tub to relax in the evenings. Great location to travel to the coast! An amazing few days away and would defiantly revisit and recommend to family and friends!!!

My partner and I booked the holiday for valentines day/ week based on what we saw in the pictures that where advertised.

We received a lovely email from the owner prior to our arrival with information on the local area attached to our instructions for where to find keys etc, which to us only showed how lovely the owners actually where to take the time to compile everything. When we got there, we where blown away by the level of detail that the owners went to in order to making us feel welcome. Everything was simply perfect! the attention to detail was amazing! the property was spotless throughout, there was a beautiful welcome tray with flowers and locally sourced bits on it. Everything down to a complimentary bottle of Prosecco that my partner and I enjoyed in the hot tub. Honestly the best holiday that my partner and I have been on yet.

Absolutely everything you could possibly need for your stay, all to the highest spec and quality. The attention to detail is beautiful! Denbigh nearby is easily accessible and plenty of places for takeaways and eating out. A great base for visiting other parts of North Wales too. Absolutely perfect. So clean and comfy. Didn't want to leave.

Lovely getaway to totally switch off, so cosy and has everything you need.

Lovely gifts awaiting us on check in, lovely attention to detail, quality towel bundle per person, dressing gowns, plenty of fire wood even though we brought our own. Comfy bed and bedding! Felt really safe and secure also. My husband struggles to be away from home, never been one for holidays but he said this was the first time he felt relaxed and comfortable. 5 stars all round!

This was our best holiday ever.

The owners are REALLY nice and helpful. The extra touches like flowers made as feel very welcomed. The cottage was spotless, nothing to fault. We were well taken care of. Beautiful views, amazing local area and people. Restaurants recommended by the owners are worth going to - the food was so nice and fresh. There is however one huge downside... after 7 days of complete relaxation you find yourself going back home... or get out the hot tub - we absolutely loved our stay. We will definitely be back and thank you for everything.

The Old Workshop was wonderful, luxurious and totally fabulous

The Old Workshop is a beautiful property with great facilities.

The sofa however is incredibly low and being an older person I found it very hard to stand up from. Otherwise it was faultless and as lovely as it’s brochure description. One other thing to mention was it said there was a pub 0.6 miles away but to get there would have involved walking a short way on a busy, windy road with no pavement so we didn’t feel it was safe to walk which was a little disappointing. Otherwise a great stay in a gorgeous property.

Disappointed to find dog faeces in the courtyard for four consecutive days not being attended to.

We contacted the owner who informed us he was away but would have it dealt with. This was cleared away within twenty minutes. The next day we found there was another fouling which was not cleared away until the evening of our departure day. Whilst we did enjoy our stay we found that this marred our holiday. Sykes description of the holiday states no pets but obviously within the grounds someone had a dog. Looking forward to your thoughts and response.

The Old Workshop is the most loveliest little house nestled in North Wales.

The house is decorated so lovely and definitely has the wow factor as you walk in. The place was so clean and tidy. The hot tub was the icing on the cake. We had the most relaxing week for our mini moon. The house is central to many places and we explored lots of new areas of Wales we’d never been before.

The facilities were amazing. It defiantly has the ‘ wow factor’ when you first walk in. The attention to detail is seen throughout the whole property. Thank-you for the complimentary items and the gorgeous fresh flowers in the kitchen that just set the room off even more, was also a great touch! Everything we thought of was taken care of, and special thank-you to Richard who came quickly to assure us the log fire was working properly ( it was defiantly a user issue not the log burner... sorry for the late night call ) We had the most amazing and relaxing time and will defiantly be returning in the near future!

Amazing stay.

Everything was perfect and exceed my expectations. It was the nicest places I have ever stay at. The bed was so comfy, had all the amenities we needed and more and the hot tub and the log burner was an added bonus. The location was spot on and it was easy access to all the wonderful tourist attractions. Would 100% recommend staying here. I have stayed at so many Airbnb's and skyescottages but this place is just amazing and by far my favourite.

The area was peaceful and quiet, even though it was near a town.

Combining this with the comfort of the cottage; with a fireplace and an open downstairs plan, made the entire stay an enjoyable experience.

This was a lovingly restored accommodation to a very high standard.

It has everything you needed and more and the welcome goodies were much appreciated. It's in a great location for exploring North Wales and most things were within 30 - 60 minutes travel. Would thoroughly recommend.

We had a really wonderful week of luxury in this cottage - from the prosecco and other treats on arrival, to relaxing in the hot tub, we felt we were really well looked after and able to completely switch off.

Everything in this property was really high-end (we especially loved the BBQ) and we were lacking nothing that we needed or wanted. Even though we weren't able to be welcomed in person due to social distancing, the host was fantastic in answering any questions that we had and communicating with us. We're already looking for when we can return - hopefully some time colder so we can make the most of the log-burner! Thoroughly recommend.

The workshop barn is beautiful in terms of location, furnishings and comfort.

The attention to detail to make our holiday as comfortable as possible was exceptional. The owners had thought of everything to make our stay perfect. From bath robes, to flowers, to the complimentary bottle of wine! The most significant concern we had before arriving related to the level of cleanliness of the property (in light of the current situation). We were very impressed with the depth and level of cleaning performed before we arrived. We were instantly reassured that the property was of the highest std of cleanliness and this allowed us to relax immediately and enjou the property instantly! Highly recommend this property and we would like to revisit again - as the property is one of the best we have stayed in. The only challenge will be, finding the availability, as the property is heavily booked up!! Diane and Chris
