  • “The reason for our rating was that although the lodge was clean the garden furniture was not and we had to clean up sheep poo before we could sit outside.”

The beds although clean were not we think doubles where they should have been. The photos online are misleading, kitchen was smaller then shown. Good location, it might be worth mentioning the midges which we think came from the pond in the garden as elsewhere in the town or surrounding areas there was not a problem with them.

Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry you found some issues during your stay. The owner is not able to control local sheep entering the premises if the gate is left open unfortunately. Certain sites like a pond can attract insects at certain times of the year but we would hope a spray or candles might help with this. We believe the description and pictures all accurately reflect the property and the beds are standard doubles. We do hope you enjoyed your holiday otherwise. - Sykes owner relations
