  • "Sykes need to explain that the accommodation is not the full house as expected from photos."

    The property is old and well used, this makes it comfortable but some TLC is needed in parts. Jane is a wonderful host and the welcome pack with home made bara brith was lovely.

  • "The grand private driveway as described in the write up is greatly marred by a rust bucket of a car on the next property."

    (not the fault of the owner) Overall the property is in need of a major facelift, clean and refurbishment. There is a damp smell in the downstairs twin bedroom, on of the beds in this room has a hole in the end of it and the other one has a massive dip in the mattress. The description gives the impression of a detached property this is not the case. From the 7th July I tried to contact the owner, she did not contact me until the 1st August. I don't know who was at fault, Sykes cottages, Menai Holidays or the owner. There is a fire blanket holder in the kitchen but no fire blanket. Not what I had hoped for.

  • "The home was very grand, and provided perfect big spaces for us all to sit together and play family games in the evening."

    All 11 of us! The location was perfect, with being near a beach, and only a short drive to some fantastic places, but away from the road so we had peace there too.

  • "This house is in a great location with a short walk to reach the bay and within easy reach of Anglesey beaches and the mainland."

    The house was comfortable, although it was a surprise to find it was part of a larger property split into other dwellings. Bedrooms were mainly comfortable apart from the twin room which was a bit bare and had a damp smell. We appreciated the separate enclosed garden area for our dog. A comfortable house for a large group to holiday in. Thanks for the homemade bara brith which was much appreciated.

  • "The house looks fantastic from the outside and the inside didn't disappoint in any way at all Clean well furnished with very comfortable seating in the lounge and all five bedrooms were large and comfortable, the kitchen facilities were very good making it easy to prepare breakfast and dinner for a very hungry family The garden outside was like an oasis of tranquility and the views of the trees birds and red squirrels made it even more special Absolutely no complaints would highly recommend it to anyone, we had a great time!"

  • "This property and surrounding area is beautiful our age range was 61-5 there were 3 generations and we all loved it loads of walks and toys and games for little ones, The barbabrith and wine were a lovely touch and tasty."

    This property had everything we needed and more I would highly recommend a stay here, the beach has outstanding views.

  • "House met our needs perfectly, 5 adults and 4 children."

    Huge living room allowed us to relax after very busy days visiting lots of nearby places of interest. The 2 dining tables enabled one adult and one kids which worked brilliantly for both groups. Can highly recommend a visit.

  • "We had a great new year break."

    Our party consisted of 2 OAPs, 3 adults and 3 teenagers! The weather was very kind to us. Well appointed house, roomy and plenty of kitchen equipment. Lovely Chinese takeaway in the village. Thank you for a wonderful holiday.

  • "Lovely homely character house."

    Lots of space in the living room and bedrooms with comfy beds. Great having two large dining tables adjoining kitchen with a back entrance leading to utility corridor for coats wellies boots etc and storing dog towels food etc. Heating excellent and always lots of hot water always available. It is a beautiful location with a short walk to the beach which is excellent for dog walking and looks across the estuary to the Ship Inn which you can walk to or is a 10 mins drive. There are some beautiful nature sites close by all allow dogs, Nant y Pandy nature reserve with it's numerous red squirrels, Moelfre with it's RNLI museum, Penmon Point beautiful views with it's lighthouse and New borough beach with a huge woods directly behind miles of sandy beach and of course the amazing Plas Newyd. Also plenty of indoor tourist spot for wetter days. Shops nearby and retail park with the big supermarkets etc 15 mins drive. We absolutely loved our stay at llys y Craig and will return. Thankyou Jane for our welcome especially the cake and for letting us stay in your lovely home.

  • "We all absolutely loved our stay at Llys y Craig, it’s a beautiful rambling house with a lovely secure garden where the children played & we enjoyed a BBQ and family birthday."

    There’s easily enough parking for 4/5 cars outside the house. Inside the huge living room was great fun, loads of settees and chairs & an old school piano the kids loved! The bedrooms are large & comfortable. The bathrooms are nice & clean and plenty of hot water. The large kitchen with separate pantry, dated but very functional and well stocked, lots of storage room. The owner kindly allowed us an early check in which is always a big bonus. All in it’s a lovely old mansion with lots of character only 300 yards to the shore at Pentraeth with friendly neighbours who where welcoming.

  • "Very quirky property and large in size."

    Jane the owner was lovely and was there on our arrival. We received a welcome basket with essentials and the fridge was stocked with milk (much appreciated). A few small things weren’t perfect, such as… Upstairs could have been a little cleaner, little dusty and some insects. No door on the dryer, which made it unusable. Bath upstairs was unusable. We understand that with old houses like this there may be a few hiccups. Despite these small things we really loved our stay here.

I cleaned back in January after the last guests and should have checked as it was a few weeks before you came in. I was trying to get a replacement door for the dryer and sorry it didnt come in time. As for the bath upstairs its a mystery. The builders have been in and resealed around, the plumber has been and checked all the pipes. Sometimes it leeks into the dining room and sometimes not. So apart from completely taking it out I am at a loss as to how to rectify it. Please if any one has any thoughts I would be glad to hear from them . Once again my apologies that It wasn't 100% for you. Also may I thank you for leaving the house nice and clean and tidy. Regards Jane Property Owner

  • "Lovely spacious quirky house perfect for our large family group consisting of 3 generations and 2 labradors!"

    Plenty of room for everyone and a big lounge and kitchen for everyone to eat and socialise.The house is very well situated near to the beach and is only a short drive or walk from a dog friendly pub. Although the weather was unsettled we found lots of things to do during the week .Most enjoyable family holiday

    Plenty of comfortable seating and very comfortable beds. Lovely location with just a short walk to the beach of Red Wharf Bay.

  • "We had a lovely stay in Llys y Graig."

    I had a couple of questions for the owner before coming which were answered very promptly. We also had a slight issue with a bathtub during the holiday which we raised and the owner immediately sorted it out. The setting is peaceful and private and the beach is a very short walk away. Everything was clean and tidy and it was a lovely space to spend a week.

Pentraeth is a small attractive village on the banks of the River Nodwydd on the north-east coast of Anglesey. It has a village church that dates back to the 12th century and is located between Llanddona beach and Red Wharf Bay, which has over 4.5 miles of sandy beach. Red Wharf Bay’s Welsh name is Traeth Coch (Red Beach) and the area is renowned for its glorious sunsets. The bay is very shallow and provides safe bathing, perfect for wonderful family fun, fishing and miles of stunning scenic walks. The large bay attracts a huge number of waterfowl and wading birds, including shell duck, grey plover, purple sandpipers, curlew, oystercatchers and dunlin. Only 6 miles away is the delightful medieval town of Beaumaris which boasts a 13th century moated castle, excellent shops, pubs, restaurants, bistros and museums, as well as a golf course and exciting pleasure boat and sea fishing trips. This is a great location on the east coast of the picturesque Isle of Anglesey, yet only six minutes from the Britannia Bridge to access the mainland.
