When we arrived, the central heating was off and the cottage was very cold at 7°C.

The heating instructions in the cottage manual referred to a previous heating system rather than the new boiler and Hive system now in place. I have used Hive before and am familiar with boiler controls, so we managed to get the cottage warm by the following day, but it was not a good start. Once the cottage was warm, the main bedroom wall was running with condensation throughout the week. There is no heating in the small bedroom, so that room stayed cold. Parking was possible until the Wednesday, when the local council came to paint double yellow lines directly outside the cottage, which meant parking in the layby at the bottom of the steps. This was not a problem for us. The memory foam mattress did not suit us, although it seems many rental cottages now use memory foam, which may not be ideal for older guests. On the plus side, we enjoyed our stay. The kitchen was good and the lounge was comfortable. We got used to the stairs and they kept us fit. Overall it was a good stay. So far we have rented four cottages/apartments in the area and I would place this one fourth.

Brilliant base for exploring North Wales. Stairs up and down from the prop so if your physically impaired may struggle but didn't bother us. Would definitely stay here again.

The house was ideally located for the area we wanted to visit.

We liked the interior decor and it was a lovely place to stay. The only few things that let it down was the lack of crockery so we weren’t able to use the dishwasher fully. There also wasn’t any washing up liquid left in the house so be aware you will need to bring some. We found it much easier to park on the road below the cottage rather than by driving up the hill to the house, we come from the flat side of the country so we don’t understand hills!!

The cottage was well equipped for a self catering family of four. The views over the Menai straights were beautiful. Biggest plus was the location - within 30 mins to a lot of the best areas of North Wales including Snowdon, Aber Falls and the fabulous beaches of Anglesea

Beautifully decorated, brilliant central heating, plenty of hot water and a comfortable bed with an amazing view of the Menai Straits greeting me every morning. I was a bit worried about parking but I managed to find a space on the road near the house every time. And the steps down to the house, or the stairs in the house were’nt a problem either. I was working at the theatre in Bangor for the month and it was a cosy home for the period.

I thought we had a lovely time here.

There were a few things wrong with the property, but in context of the lovely setting and the list of nice activities planned those things just seemed irrelevant. We wasnt there to create snag lists or complain and we are open minded to believe no where is perfect. THESE WHERE... SHOWER HEAD, struggled to move up and down had to squat to shower first night. NOISE- you can hear the neighbojrs doing evertyhing. Due to there being lots of wood flooring you worry they will hear you so we spent all the wvenings tip-toeing about. DANGEROUS ROAD- not the owners fault but not clear on listing. You leave the property and walk down a ginel of uneven steep steps then straight onto a fast road with no pavement. THE FREEZER COMPARTMENT WOULDNT OPEN. NO HANDLE ON IT, BUT WE COULD GET IT BY USING OUR FINGERS IN THE SAME WAY THE HANDLE WOULD WORK. SECOUNDLY A PIECE OF WOULD TRIM WAS OFD AND THIS WENT THRLUGH MY SANDAL AND INTO MY FOOT. We went for my daughter 2nd birthday and was married close by so the area feels special to us, so it was good. The views were lovely so we just got on with having a good time. THEN.... Im checking my emails to forward my friend the listing. And i see emails from sykes saying they are charging me for the freezer door clip!!

Great comfortable place to explore the local places which the area has to offer despite the mixed weather!

Enjoyed a wonderful breakfast bap at Swellies Cafe and in the evening saw COLDPLAY at Glastonbury on the TV - restful few days - thank you

Property was clean and tidy, nicely decorated and very well equipped. We had everything we needed for the week's stay. Parking was no problem in February, we managed to park one or two houses down for the whole week. Would definitely recommend and will be booking again. Thank you for a great base for our holiday!

A really great place to stay with respect to easy access to Snowdonia and the coast with stunning views across the Menai Straits - so great for exploring all that the area has to offer.

Any issues with the property related to its “newness” - just snagging issues which have been reported to the owner and which are easily rectified. I was fully aware of the property being on 3 levels which was really quirky. The parking arrangements might be an issue for some clients. We had a great stay thank you.
