Thank you for sharing your feedback. We were surprised to read your comments, as they do not reflect the experience of the many guests who stay at Beachway. We’d like to address the points you’ve raised: The Beach Shack is advertised as a children’s room, and the hot tub is a commercial model set to 38 degrees for comfort and safety. With regards to the kitchen cupboard, we were informed of the issue at 8.30pm on a Saturday evening. We immediately attempted to arrange for an engineer to attend that night, but at the guests’ request a visit was arranged for the following morning. An engineer attended promptly at 9am on Sunday and resolved the cupboard issue, and the gate lock was also repaired as part of the remedial work. We are still unsure why the cupboard came away from the wall, as this has never been an issue before. Regarding check-in, the standard time is 5pm to allow our team the necessary time to prepare the property to the high standards our guests expect after the previous guests depart at 10am. These times are clearly explained on all booking platforms, and are also detailed in the welcome email. Guests are invited to contact us if they would like an earlier check-in, so we can work with the cleaning team to arrange this where possible. With respect to the front door, it seems the latch did not fully catch when the cleaning team left. We apologise for this oversight, although we do not believe it would have affected the overall quality of your stay. The owner is understandably upset that, after thousands of pounds of investment in the property and every reasonable attempt being made to address concerns immediately, this review impacts so heavily on the overall rating. The vast majority of guests praise Beachway, as you can see from the many 100% reviews, and we remain committed to ensuring the property is always presented at its very best.

There has been massive investment in this property from its owners very recently, adding all the lovely new features and we are glad this is coming through in the feedback. The reason for this rating / feedback was an objection to paying for the new facilities, and we cannot afford to just give them away unfortunately! The team all work incredibly hard and the property is exactly as pictured. Everyone who works on the property would love to live here! The property has had over £15,000 invested in just the last few months with the Cinema, Games Room & Hot Tub being added. The whole property is in pristine condition with ultra high-spec (marble worktops, double Neff ovens, touch sensitive AEG hob, American style Fridge Freezer) and an amazing, unbeatable beach location.

While we are pleased that most of the feedback is positive (81% in fact), we aren't happy! Codes were sent well before check-in, can't understand how this was a "hassle". We provide extra info on the property & local area to everyone (well before check in), this is to back up the Sykes info. - so how is this anything but helpful?! Unfortunately, this was a very difficult booking from the start (ie. payment!!). The 5pm check in is to make the property sparkle, earlier check-ins = less cleaning. We "blitz it" using all the hours available, rather than do half a job! Staff bent over backwards on this one (the guests managed to damage the hot tub, we sent staff out immediately (on the weekend), at our own cost to remedy). Also, the changeover crew said they had NEVER seen the house left so FILTHY on check out and we had to pay for a lot more hours of cleaning. There was little respect for the exclusive property we provided and it has genuinely upset us all.

And thank you so much for looking after the property! All rental monies received are spent on the property either maintaining it or adding features to it. We are looking now at what feature we can add next to make stays even more memorable. In this new world anything less than 100% is seen as a failure. Thanks for the positive comments. We are all upset though by some of the points raised and would like to take the opportunity to address them. The property has it's own private gate to the beach with a single bolt on the inside which can be easily unlocked by guests. We guess you meant the gate at the beach edge itself which is an anti-flood gate. It is controlled by the council and is VERY rarely closed, only during severe storms when there is danger to life. In terms of "bike storage" - the garden is huge with a ton of secure space for bikes (the gates all have bolts from the inside). The bedrooms are far from small.!! This is a very high-spec, luxury 4 bedroom detached home built in the last 20-ish years and the bedroom sizes are completely normal.! "Too many cupboards and drawers", we are struggling to understand this: odd to complain of "too many" of something, only if there weren't enough would that be a complaint? We all work SO very hard and so it is impossible not to be upset by this review. Thankfully, the majority of guests love the property, as do all our friends and family who have said they wish they could live here!

We appreciate all feedback and take all concerns seriously, however this feedback is not accurate. Our staff attempted contact with this guest again and again and left voicemail messages that were not returned. The cleans are performed by a forensic cleaning company and cost hundreds of pounds! The bins are emptied every single week and we have photographs of this! We work extremely hard and care passionately about our cottage. When a review is posted that is neither accurate or helpful it really does upset us all as it is a beautiful, new property that all staff have said they want to live in! Unfortunately, some guests this summer have not treated it with the respect that it deserves. One or two bookings lately have seen guests that treat the house with no respect, causing damage and we have had no choice but to block those guests from returning (note to future guests reading this: please be assured that all past damages have been rectified.!). Finally, the property does not make a profit and doesn't try to - instead every penny is reinvested to maintain the cottage and it always will be. We offer this property to guests because we provide THE best holiday location in Prestatyn and are passionate about what we do.

Since your stay and over winter we have been extremely busy, making a terrific improvement to the property. We have provided the house with secure and direct beach (plus children's play park) access from the back garden. There are no roads to cross at all and it is literally seconds to the sand.! The entire rear garden is fully fenced and gated so perfect for toddlers, children and pets. We hope that you will return soon to see it for yourselves!

The door is new and does have a tight seal (we will definitely ask sykes to add a small note to say, 'please pull the door slightly whilst turning the key') ... so sorry that you had to telephone to resolve this. The work that you mention is to make the beach literally seconds away, rather than having to walk along the road and I'm very sorry if you found it not quite secure enough, we will get this attended to as soon as possible. It is fully fenced off so we weren't aware that there were gaps, but now that we know we can get it resolved as a matter of urgency! So sorry to hear that you werent completely happy as the staff worked incredibly hard to bring this amazing, unique property to market in time for this summer. Everything at the house was brand new(!) and from Dunelm who only supply good quality beds & bedding etc. we are thrtefore, genuinely upset and stunned at the "uncomfortable comments". The bed is completely flat and again it is brand new so not sure what to say really!? The outside is tended to every week and is setup as low maintenance with expensive planters and borders. We will certainly go over it with a fine toothcomb after your comments. We have invested heavily in the property this year (£ thousands) and are sincerely committed to providing the very best holiday accommodation at a very affordable price. Just this week will be unveiling a great new feature making the walk to the beach come down from a couple of minutes to literally 30 seconds!!! In the meantime, thank you for bringing the lack of hairdryer to our attention, this has now been rectified along with a new pole for the washing line..
