A beautiful view to the moors from the cottage and a lovely walk into Whitby along the viaduct - perfect!

  • "Super cottage, lovely and clean with great facilities."

The garden area was heaven to relax in after a walk to Robin Hoods Bay along the coastal path. About a 20min walk into Whitby along the Cinder Trail. Owners really helpful and quick to respond to any questions regarding the property and local area. Thank you for a great stay.

  • "A great place to stay!"

Very spacious and absolutely spotless. It is really well equipped. The walk into whitby is delightful and no worries about parking on a busy sunny day. Host was really good at communicating and making sure I had all the information for our stay. We were really pleased with it.

Easy walk into Whitby. Cottage is really well equipped, cosy, warm and quiet. Spotlessly clean too. Dog friendly which is so important for us. A wonderful stay, we will definitely be back.

  • "We have just returned from a week at Cricket Cottage and would highly recommend it."

It was spotlessly clean on arrival and very well equipped, couldn't fault it. We had a little bit of bad weather and it was so nice to return to a warm cosy cottage after a day out. The views over the hills from the back of the house were wonderful and we saw some amazing sunsets. Walking into Whitby over the viaduct and along the cinder path takes around 20 minutes. We will definitely return!

  • "The cottage is perfect for a break away in Whitby - an easy walk to the city centre but far enough away that it was very peaceful and quiet."

Great location for my 4 year old and the outside space felt really safe for him to have a good run around. Cricket cottage itself is extremely well-equipped and there was everything we needed for our week-long stay (the chairs were very handy for the older members of our party on the beach. I cannot recommend this highly enough!

Lovely views from front and back, and so quiet and peaceful. The walk along the cinder track to Whitby was lovely, and a only took 20 minutes. The cottage was very comfortable, well equipped and was a perfect home from home for the two weeks we were there.

  • "Both myself and the dog thoroughly enjoyed this holiday."

The walk along the cinder path was longer than we thought and very muddy in places glad I took my walking boots. There is a shorter way into Whitby which the next door neighbours showed me on the last day. The cottage was lovely and clean and tidy also very warm. The electric went off for 6 hours on the Friday but that was due to Northern Power repairing a cable nearby. The walks around the river and Captain Cooks Haven were great for a last evening walk. The only things that could be better is that there were no bath mats and I hate getting out of a shower onto a tiled floor so I used the rubber mat for inside the bath. Also there was no draining rack for dishes (I know there is a dishwasher but being only myself I didn’t use it) I was bothered about the crockery sliding off the draining board into the floor. Only little things but would be nice to see these in place on a return visit. Would I go again yes definitely thinking about September. What doesn’t show on the picture is that you face the brick and wood shed which houses the bins so part of your view of the river/viaduct is obscured downstairs but great upstairs. Lovely open countryside views at the back and private decking area. No fenced in area but took the dog on the lead out to the grass at the back morning and evening for his toilet. Would recommend this property prefer being at the top than having to climb the steep hill everyday from the cottages at the bottom but they have a brilliant river view swings and roundabouts. Parking great no issues at all that’s a big plus for me

  • "Just had a lovely holiday at Cricket COTTAGE very very well equipped took us a while to work out electric oven until we found instructions inside a cupboard door then we was ok."

There is a lovely view across the fields from kitchen window and rear patio and views out the front of the viaduct and river plus the Steam Trains so if you want a nice quiet base for a trip to Whitby this is it. It is only 5/6minute drive to town or by taxi costs only £6.00p we did this to go on the Steam Train as parking is difficult costs for parking is about £10.00p for all day at least with the taxi for us it stopped right out-side the station for a lovely day on the NORTH YORKSHIRE MOORS RAILWAY a very good day out

  • "Travelling with my 91 year old mother, we needed a comfortable "home from home" for the week and found Cricket Cottage absolutely perfect for our needs."

On arrival, we were quite delighted by how beautifully it was presented - immaculately decorated, with beautiful decor, spotlessly clean, every home comfort - and as we settled in we found the cottage had everything we could possibly need. The location is just perfect - plenty of on-site parking, and only a mile or so from the centre of Whitby. And given the inclement weather, we were particularly grateful for the efficient heating and constant hot water. Really highly recommended.
