This is the second time we've stayed here and it's absolutely fab. The kids talk about it all year round and hopefully the lovely memories of our special family week together will last forever. The house is in a great location for everything and is so warm and cozy. We took the kids on the Santa Train and got tickets for Beauty & The Beast at the Stephen Joseph Theatre which was brilliant. A special mention must go to Bernadette nothing is too much trouble for her. Hopefully see you then same time next year. Thanks Jackie

The house was extremely clean, the kitchen has every type of utensil you could possibly need, plenty of prep space and a table big enough for all guests to sit around and chat. The other areas of the house were equally as comfortable for us (9 adults & 4 children). The icing on the cake is the games/cinema room, adults & children loved it. The hot tub was excellent to chill out in, the addition of a shower room in the Games room was really convenient when using the hot tub ( better than trailing through the house dripping all over the floors) and great big fluffy towels specifically for the hot tub too. We couldn’t fault the house or the outside area and would definitely recommend to friends and family.

  • "A spacious, comfortable house in a great location."

Games room and cinema room proved very popular. Access to cinema room tricky for older and younger members of the group (2 and 88). Some maintenance issues - water comes out of overflow when shower in use, chair legs in cinema room wobbly. Kitchen catered for 12 people well. A pizza cutter would have been welcome and there was only 1 pizza tray. These are however minor points and did not detract from what is a fantastic property.

Hi thanks for the feed back we will check overflow and chair legs in cinama room and stock check pizza cutters and tray on next turn round. Property Owner

  • "Lovely large house with lots of space for our party of 7 adults and 4 children/teenagers."

Brilliant location for local services, beach, park etc. The games room was great. We found the kitchen rather poorly equipped kitchen for the number of guests, including lack of basic cutlery like teaspoons and some crockery. Lovely grounds! Parking was a bit challenging on the long narrow driveway, with a lot of juggling of vehicles required. We were a little unsure about the upkeep/cleanliness of the hot tub. There also appeared to be some issues with damp in the property, and the gutters & drains could do with some attention. A little DIY attention to some little details like loose taps in en suite, mould, some curtains derailed, would make a massive difference. Also, we found an old cupcake case under one of the sofas so not sure how thoroughly the property is cleaned between visitors! But we enjoyed our stay and loved the location and the space available.

  • "Great location and very roomy, bedrooms great."

The kitchen however was in need of some updating and care ; decoration chipped some chairs needed mending and cooking facilities not really adequate for size of property. Similarly with the hot tub and games room, equipment broken, hot tub needed cleaning. We have not found the owners helpful at all, from initial booking to resolving item mistakenly left on the premises.

Thank you for your comments Barbara, I value all feedback as we want to ensure our guests have the best experience. The hot tub is cleaned and refilled on every changeover, I will look into the items in the games room which need replacing. Sadly as we don't live directly near the cottage, we had to wait for our cleaning team to retrieve the lost property. This has now been returned and will be with you shortly. We have an aga as well as a large oven that we have never had any complaints about in the past. Once again we thank you for your feedback. Property Owner

Sorry to hear about the ladybirds we have had a small problem with ladybirds this winter these have now been removed from the house and the hoover is back from repair. The house overlooks Peasolm Park and is so cosy and warm. We had an early Christmas so all the family could be together. The dining/cooking facilities were brilliant. The owners even popped round with more glasses and serving dishes when they found out we were making Christmas dinner! The games room is great for the kids with a cinema room as well. It was perfect all being in the same room to watch the World Cup final (pity it wasn’t England). Visited the Alpamare which is only 2 minutes away and some of us went to the wellness spa which is well worth a visit. We took the kids on the Santa Train which was great. One family member just wandered about saying, Wow, I really love this house. The games room was much enjoyed - snooker, darts, table tennis, also cricket on the beach. Access to the park, 2 minutes, beach, 5-10 minutes walk. With 7 large double bedrooms, 4 living rooms and 8 bathroom/toilets the house was plenty big enough for us 12. Hot tub was fine, but as the weather was lovely we didn't use it much. Parking is quite tight. Pretty garden with lawn/sitting out area. Not fully fenced. Equipment is sufficient for cooking and everything works. Lots of crockery and glasses. Big feature is the beach, quite close and very nice. Rock pools, warm lagoons, lots of flat sand and not too crowded. Swimming at high tide. The park has lots of attractions - dragon boats, pagoda, pitch and putt and a unique naval battle. Very pretty long glen. Castle is bigger than it looks, worth a visit. We visited Whitby but apart from that just enjoyed all the stuff in Scarborough.

Other than that it was lovely. I think it would be a good idea to have a list of recommended restaurants and place to go for Sunday lunch and 'recommended' take away. Superbly positioned in walking distance to the golden beach at North Bay in Scarborough, this 1930's detached house is the perfect place for families and friends to enjoy a wonderful Yorkshire holiday.

Beautifully furnished throughout to a high standard this exquisite property exudes character and style, a delightful retreat to return to during your stay.

Set back from the main road with ample parking, this attractive house rests adjacent to Peasholm Park, a lovely place to gather for a picnic by the lake on a warm summers' day or to view the events showcased at the open-air theatre.

During the winter months, the marvellous gas AGA keeps you toasty and warm in the kitchen, a beautiful, airy room to meet for breakfast with the family.

This remarkable house boasts two sitting rooms, wonderfully presented in a tasteful, earthy colour scheme complementing leather sofas and art-deco style details; the second room enjoys a quirky, modern wallpaper print and an electric stove.

Spoilt for choice, the two ground floor cloakrooms are accompanied by a third on the first floor alongside the family bathroom occupying an all-white shade and well-appointed fixtures.

Spread over two levels, the bedrooms are all elegantly decorated in bright, fresh hues, some of which benefit from en-suite showers and the top floor rooms enjoy lovely little suntrap balconies on which to sit out and absorb the fresh Yorkshire air.

As you wander up the wide staircases to the first and second floors, you will be welcomed by fabulous, stained glass windows streaming bursts of vivid colour into the large landing areas.

These wonderful period features of the building can be seen in parts throughout, from the grand fireplace and oak wood panelling in the formal dining room to the large bay windows overlooking the gardens outside.

For entertainment during your stay, head to the converted garage and into the games and cinema room, and enjoy some quality leisure time.

For a more relaxing end to an evening, turn on the hot tub and soak in the warm bubbles in a more secluded area of the garden.

Head out the door and within a short walk find the popular Scarborough Open Air Theatre, where you can catch your favourite artists performing live shows throughout the summer.

Relish in the wonderful stretches of sandy beach on the North Bay and South Bay during your visit to Scarborough; the many attractions await you at this glorious seaside town of North Yorkshire, not to mention the amenities on offer at nearby Whitby via the North Yorkshire and Cleveland Heritage Coast.
