  • "First time staying at Laurel Farm and it definitely won't be the last!"

We're already booking for next year! The cottage was all open plan, spacious and modern with all the home from home comforts you would want. The owner made sure we had tea/coffee facilities and milk upon arrival and also left us a complimentary bottle of wine to welcome us, which was a lovely surprise and a really thoughtful touch. Gary introduced himself to us on arrival and assured us he was on hand if we needed him. There was a beautiful large enclosed garden, which our dog thoroughly enjoyed. When we arrived home, we realised we had left some of the dog's medication behind and Gary arranged to send it on to us special delivery via Royal Mail which was much appreciated (we obviously reimbursed him for the postage). The cottage is near to the local village of Malton and approx 30 mins away from Scarborough. Morrisons/Lidl is not far away in Malton and we had a wonderful Sunday lunch at a nearby pub/bistro type restaurant called The Ham & Cheese which we can't rate highly enough! We will definitely be staying at Laurel Farm again!

  • "Fabulous, well appointed property with great facilities."

Paul was very welcoming and helpful and the wine and cookies on arrival were a nice touch. The property is secure and completely enclosed which is great if you have a pet. The only thing that might be a factor for some people is the proximity of the main A64 road which was quite noisy. It didn’t bother us but then again it wasn’t warm enough to have windows and doors open all the time. Loved our stay and would definitely choose Laurel Farm again

  • "A lovely cottage, well equipped and very clean."

The enclosed garden and patio is excellent for dog owners and car security. A good base for nearby destinations, such as Scarborough and Filey. The local pub and chip shop were handy and very good. We were delighted with the welcome gifts and Gary, the owner, was friendly and helpful.

Being on a busy main road is a drawback and the lovely enclosed garden would not be peaceful to sit out in. A brillint base for exploring the area.

A lovely surprise to find a welcome tray when we arrived, a lovely touch. The best dog safe garden we have ever had. We didn't want to leave & we will definitely return in 2022.

  • "The cottage is a perfect base to explore yorkshire."

It was super clean and really well equipped. The additional extras were very much appreciated. The owner checked in with us the day before and on our arrival to make sure we had what we needed. We didn’t bring our dog but could have done as the garden is secure, even for our greyhound.

  • "Just back from a lovely week at Laurel Cottage - the standard of accommodation is exceptionally high - as is the level of comfort - Gary the owner lives next door & is charming & helpful but not at all intrusive - the garden is large, fully enclosed & very private, with plenty of room for the car - yes you are close to the A64 but we were hardly aware of traffic noise once inside the cottage ."

Already booked to go back again next year & really looking forward to it

  • "What a lovely place!"

The property was extremely clean when we arrived and Gary was a great host, making sure everything was as we needed during our stay. The property’s location makes it a great place to see all North Yorkshire has to offer, during our stay we visited Scarborough, York, the Yorkshire Moors and Eden Camp, all of which were easy to travel to from the property. The only feedback we would have is that we couldn’t reach into a few of the kitchen cupboards as they were quite high up. For us there was plenty of space in the lower down cupboards to store all we had brought with us but providing a foldaway step would be useful for some guests. Thanks again!

  • "The cottage looked great in the listing but was even better in reality."

The photos could not do it justice. The place was lovely, spotlessly clean and comfortable, attractive building, great facilities, really nice garden, excellent location (easy to find; good access to the places we wanted to visit). It was also nice to meet the owner, Gary, who was very personable and welcoming. We would have no hesitation in recommending Laurel Farm to anyone taking a break in this area.
