  • "Second stay here and didn't regret it."

All we needed as base for walking the Wolds Way and seeing more of the area. Warm, comfortable, well equipped, good shopping nearby. Added bonus is the attached cafe which has lovely ambiance and food. We will be back. Richard, Yvonne and Elaine

  • "Richard and Christine made us very welcome to the excellently well appointed, equipped and comfortably warm Spindle Cottage which is ideally situated in a quiet, historical village within easy reach of York and its many attractions in city and on the river."

We enjoyed visits to Beverley, the coast, Ampleforth Abbey, Harrogate and Fountains Abbey. Time walking along the local canal (circular walks possible) followed by coffee/lunch at the cafe at the property (currently on Thurs/Fri) made for a relaxing half-day. Can highly recommend.

Many thanks for your lovely review, we very much appreciate it and are delighted you enjoyed your stay with us. Richard and Christine Property Owner

--welcome basket was great, thank-you -- was well insulated and warm. --comfortable bedding, towels etc --was just a pity we were out walking from early till tea-time as would have liked to spend more time in the cottage, eat and drink in the cafe and see more of the area, but will visit again to do just that! • "We absolutely loved our stay at Spindle Cottage and we can’t wait to return!"

The owners were so lovely and couldn’t do enough for us. The cottage was perfect. It was so spacious and the en-suites were so big! The kitchen had everything we needed and we cooked most nights. We were able to park right outside the front door too. The cottage was in a small peaceful picturesque village which was lovely to walk. The owners also own the tea room at the front of the cottage which we visited a few times and loved. There is plenty to do in the local area and Spindle Cottage is the perfect place to explore it from. This was one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever stayed in on holiday and was made better by the loveliest of owners. Highly highly recommended!
