"Pheasant cottage was a delight to stay in."
Very well equipped, beautiful, comfortable beds with lovely outdoor area. So kind of the owners to leave such a generous welcome pack and have the stove all set up ready to light, disappointed that the weather was too warm to get to light it! Location was great for family getaway, very peaceful and picturesque, with a super pub that does food 5 minutes away.

"We have had an absolutely brilliant holiday staying in Pheasant Cottage."
It was lovely, very clean and comfortable with everything that we needed. It was warm and snug and was perfect for coming back to after a day exploring. The village is very quiet and peaceful, a great place to unwind, however there is a co-op nearby for essentials and a fantastic bakery in Danby, not one to be missed. Would love to stay here again as there so much to do and see in the area.

"We had a lovely stay at a Pheasant Cottage this week."
Everything was perfect for us and the welcome pack made the cottage feel even more welcoming. The cottage was warm and cosy, even in the middle of January. We met the owners who made us feel really settled and they were very accommodating. We would definitely recommend Pheasant Cottage to others and will stay again.

"Excellent location for walkers, nature lovers and scenery addicts."
There were numerous walks from the door, although in this area not many on the flat,so suits reasonably fit types. The cottage was very comfortable and warm with good range of equipment, will certainly consider returning.

"The cottage was a good base to explore the North East Coast of Yorkshire which we did each day."
It was also in a very quiet location giving us a good nights sleep after our excertions. My only criticism would be the checking in and checking out times which I know are dictated by the current pandemic but a little bit of adjustment to 4pm in and 10am out would make all the difference.

"Cosy cottage in a beautiful location."
The village bakery was a bonus, we weren't expecting such lovely bread, pies and treats just a short walk away. Lots of walking and things to do in the area. Would stay again.

"The cottage was well furnished and very comfortable and despite having to remove items due to covid 19 restrictions we had everything needed."
We met one of the owners and Rachel ensured we were happy and not requiring anything further. The voucher for use at The Fox and Hounds a short walk up the road in lieu of a welcome grocery pack was very welcome as we had two meals there and went one night for drinks.

Thoughtful welcome basket accounting for our two kids over Halloween was a nice touch as well. Excellent solid fuel stove for cosy evenings and even dressing gowns for snug mornings. We really enjoyed our stay and would love to return.

"Pheasant's Cottage is beautiful and the owners had thought of everything to make our stay comfortable."
The cottage is within walking distance of the local pub which served great food and the village itself is a great base for exploring North Yorkshire. We were only there for 3 nights but visited Whitby, Robin Hood's Bay and Staithes - all a short drive away.

The train line to Whitby was good and not too expensive, easier to use the train than finding a parking space.

We stepped out the door into the countryside with fantastic views, walking and cycling. A railway station in the village connects to the coast.
