"We were very disappointed we had a giant laurel preventing country side views, and also prevented side windows being opened, we overlooked the farm with the dogs yapping and escaping all the time, I am not sure if it was son or grandson riding a quad bike around the farm yard, noisy, I was surprised how close the other cabin was to us we were basically in a car park type area, the toilet was tiny preventing any one 6ft or over sitting on the loo due to lack of knee space, we booked 7 days stayed 3, you are also expected to clean tidy and strip beds on departure."

"Had a great holiday in The Maple, lovely welcome pack on arrival."
Also bowls, bed and towel for the dog. The Maple itself is in a great location being only 20 minutes to Filey and Robin Hoods Bay, 5 minutes to Scarborough. Nice pub across the road. The owners are very friendly and helpful. Would definitely book it again when we next holiday in the area.

"This was a lovely place to stay, we had a couple of very minor issues which were quickly resolved, and maybe others hadn't reported previously."
One disappointment was that the description says "Boasting beautiful views of the surrounding countryside from the private decking," when in fact you can't really see the countryside for the hedge. Whilst this makes it more private it does block the view.
Whilst we didn't want to cook a meal on this occasion, we felt that the kitchen wasn't very well equipped if you wanted to cook. Having said that, there were a couple of great pubs nearby, the Bryherstones across the road, and the Hayburn Wyke about a mile up the road.
Great location for Scarborough, Whitby and the Yorkshire moors.

"A really comfortable, clean and well located property."
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and an ideal base to visit the lovely Yorkshire sights. Everything you need is provided, welcome pack for us was greatly appreciated and a bed, towel for wet feet and treats were also left for our dog Stanley which I think was a really nice touch. We would definitely recommend and hopefully will holiday here again in the future. A real credit to the owners Alison and Martin.

"The Maple is a lovely retreat away from it all."
There are two statics one is Pet friendly and the other isn't. They are in the grounds of a lovely house owned by the owners. Across the road is the fabulous Bryherstones country pub we had one of the best Sunday lunches and you will need to pre book. The Maple was very cozy, central heated and warm, great facilities and everything you need. We were welcomed with a cake and bread, milk and basics which was a lovely touch. Dog bed and blankets, it is perfect for dogs as the AstroTurf at the side is easy to pick up any mess. The static was perfect for 4 people, it isn't the biggest but gorgeous and quite new, only just a year old. The owners were very friendly and we had a perfect 3 night break even though the winds and rain were horrendous we were very warm and cozy. I would recommend this it is perfect and very close to Scarborough and 14miles to Whitby. The decking area would be perfect in summer. Very pleased and would highly recommend Cravens Hill Park
Thank you

And there dogs was loose and was getting out on to the main road it’s a 60 mph we thought there dog was going to get hit by a car or a wagon we was stopping a week but only stopped 2 night after that

"Well located for Scarborough, Whitby and surrounding area, very clean and well appointed lodge."
Alison and Martin (and their dogs!) were very friendly and gave us nice welcome pack of fresh bread and cake upon arrival.
We can highly recommend the Bryherstones Country Inn over the road for a great meal - we had Sunday lunch and an evening meal there and the landlord is super-friendly.
The coastal Walk from Salt Pans road up the Cleveland way to the Hayburn Wyke Pub (and waterfall) was well worth the effort (we are not regular hikers!) - great scenery on the walk and great food/beer BUT get there before 3pm as they stop food until the evening. A much gentler walk back along the Cinder Path back to Salt Pans road to work off the Angus burger!!
All in all a very relaxing - and very much needed - stay at Craven's hill Park in the Maple Lodge.
By the way they also have the Sequoia lodge next door which looks to be similarly equipped with the addition of a little garden area and hot tub - maybe on our next stay....

Great location in a small village of Cloughton, plenty of places nearby to eat, and easy access into Scarborough and Whitby, we had a lovely week away, great weather and lovely accommodation run by Martin and Alison, who are not far away if you need anything and they are very friendly, on arrival we were greated with a lovely loaf of sour dough bread, Victoria sandwich cake and a bag of treats for our dog Otis and a new ball for him too, we would highly recommend this accommodation as its very peaceful if that's what your looking for but location's are easily reached if you want to be out and about all the time, we came back fully refreshed after our stay here

"Very welcoming owners who provided a splendid welcoming package of locally made bread, home baked cake plus milk, butter, tea coffee and sugar."
Even our King Charles Spaniel was not forgotten with a dog bed awaiting him plus a gift bag with treats, toys and 'poo bags. Plenty of room in the lounge for his sleeping cage as well. A very comfortable holiday home with everything you could need for a pleasant stay. Scarborough, Whitby and the North York Moors are all very close and there is a good selection of pubs and shops certainly easily reachable by car. We really recommend booking a table at the Bryherstones Inn across the road from Maple. Locally sourced and produced food in a friendly setting, all superbly cooked. One small word of warning. The second, twin bedded room is very small, especially if all your party are 6 footers. Perhaps this is best suited for children.

"When we arrived at The Maple (after driving past a couple of times as quite the hidden gem) we were were all really pleased with the surroundings, the welcome and the accommodation."
Martin & Alison are extremely good hosts. Everything you need is in The Maple. They are thoroughly knowledgable about the area - gave us excellent directions and suggestions for cycling (we are 2 adults, a teenager and a 4 year old who was on her WeeRide for the first time) - we chose The cinder track twice - 3/4 mile easily walking distance and cycling. We also walked to the local pub (not the one over the road the one in the forest/plantation) to have tea via the road and cinder track. We also went to Robins Hood Bay which was about 20/25 mins away. The location is excellent. We could have stayed longer and will definitely be rebooking - we want to do Dalby Forest which is also In easy reach. All in alol a definite ideal place which helped us get over the disappointment of having Mallorca cancelled due to COVID-19. We would book the same accommodation but would try to get next door which has a hot tub first But not for pets and we took our pooch. We also received a Lovely welcome pack - an artisan loaf, jams, strawberries, cream and a fruit cake, even Baxter the dog got a welcome pack of treats! Have no doubts about booking here - get your waking boots, bike and get yourself off - you’ll love it!

"The caravan was clean but small."
Only the double bed was made up but we needed another bed.
The beds in the little room were too small for an adult. Consequently unable to use them.
Fortunately I had taken bed linen. So slept on the sofa.
No facilities for drying towels etc.
Road noise was unexpected as we did not expect caravan to be next to the road.
The decked patio was lovely but artificial grass area was not fenced so could not sit there with dog and open access to road.
There was a caravan next to us which was also unexpected.
Basically it was a caravan on a driveway.

Alison and Martin (the owners) were very friendly and helpful, very easy to get on with. The location was great as well, only about 7 minutes to Scarborough and about 22 minutes to Whitby.
