Really lovely cottage, fully equipped, comfortable with a lovely sized enclosed private garden.

Very peaceful area with beautiful scenery. Easy access to lots of good walks. Only negative was the pub not doing food and only open a few nights but lots of others a short drive away. Would highly recommend.

What a super find.

The cottage was exceptionally clean, comfortable, spacious and had everything we needed. The huge bed was very comfortable. The bathroom so spacious with a bath and a seperate shower. The kitchen had everything we needed. It was great to have a freezer section in the fridge. The garden was safe and secure for our Beagle, Penny. Dogs were very well catered for with throws for the furniture and bed if needed. The village was small yet beautiful. We would love to come again.

It was clean, spacious and well looked after, with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The hosts were really helpful and friendly, and communication was great. It’s a fantastic place for anyone travelling with dogs. The garden is very secure, which gave us peace of mind and meant the dogs could enjoy the outdoor space safely. The location was also really easy to find, which made arriving nice and stress-free. We have stayed here more than a handful of times now, and every stay has been just as lovely as the last. It really has become one of our favourite places. We’ve already got our next stay booked for next year, so we’re looking forward to coming back again! We would definitely recommend the cottage to anyone looking for a clean, comfortable and genuinely dog-friendly place to stay in Yorkshire. Teresa

Lovely spacious one bedroomed property.

we were not happy,curtians in living room need a good clean as there was stains yellow on corner of one of the curatians,tv in living thick with dust at the back,frying pans need replaceing as we could not use them as they were burn marks on them both sides,we allso had to keep an eye on our dog when outside as there is a bush near the back door full of bees,we had wasp comming in a few times,the under floor heating we turned of as it was not suitable for our dog,she was panting cause she was getting hot with,while we were there at the cottage we did not get much peace and quiet as the nieghbour had people calling round to get things fixed,plus they were comming and going all the time a shared drive way with neighbour bad idea,in a way our holiday was ruined even the kettle needs replaceing its thick with lime scale,the owner should replace items when they need it,plus we did not get much sleep with the noise comming from next door plus the heating tank was never quiet,we will not be staying there again,

Nice to have a cottage that truly means dog friendly.

Too many have restrictions, this cottage had none…brilliant. Lovely enclosed garden with garden furniture and bbq, very large comfortable bed and really appreciated the full Sky package (something we’ve never come across before).

Beautifully equipped and decorated cottage and garden.

Had everything we could possibly need. Nice little village with a couple of good dog walks from the house. Need a car for wider facilities of shop and pub (not a problem for us). Good base to explore key sights.

The owners are perfect hosts - very generous (the cottage was super-warm and we appreciated the extras they left us). We're planning on returning in the summer to take advantage of the lovely enclosed garden. Thank you.

Lovey cottage, very spacious for two.

Very welcoming for dogs, its made clear they are allowed on the furniture and throws are provides for this. Very secure lawned back garden. Treats for humans and doggies appreciated, thank you. Lovely village with easily accessed walks on the doorstep. Shame pub is more or less closed, the previous reviews made me jealous to miss out! Ovington is quiet and out of the way but only 10 mins south to A66 or north to A67 for Teesdale and the rest of Co Durham. We had a lovely week. The larger Hall Cottage next door, which I believe isbthe same owners looked impressive too, with a massive walled garden. Off road parking in court yard immediately in front of cottage is great. Excellent comms from the owners at all times.

Plenty of walks nearby especially along the river Tees. Village was very quiet with few facilities but very pretty, ideal if you want a quiet getaway. The cottage was lovely and warm and thank you for the array of books and jigsaws to keep you busy.

Another perfectly relaxing and peaceful stay at this delightful cottage, Home from Home, and a welcome pack is much appreciated, The bed is so comfortable we had difficulty getting up on a morning.

First class tasteful and comfortable furnishings

Once again a fabulous stay in a fabulous cottage, we absolutely love this bright, comfortable and very spacious place, love the enclosed garden for our 2 dogs, We are made to feel at home and so are the dogs too, Milk, biscuits and treats provided, Cannot fault anything, As always already booked for next year, great communication from the lovely hosts too.

A perfect home from home. Would definitely recommend.

l I would like to thank Mel for leaving out fresh water for my 2 dogs & also the chews & bottle milk in the fridge & biscuits,we found the back garden so secure for my dogs which they loved the nice weather helped,we found some loose flagging with the metal table &chairs on also the main front door we found it not secure couldnt just close it like a normal door we had to keep locking it so my dogs didnt escape,we found lliving room/bedroom/bathroom was OK but on leaving we was asked to leave the property the way we found it,we found the living room rug full used broken dog biscuits &used plasters I had hoover it first before letting my dogs on it.

we found the pub in the village only sold drinks there it was up for sale.

A few more cups in the kitchen would make the use of dishwasher more efficient ... but thats a minor point. A truly dog friendly cottage with the owner providing furniture and bed throws. Will definitely be staying there again.

If I could pick up and move garden cottage around the country I would.

Love the secure garden, full of wildlife. The cottage is extremely comfortable, brilliant nights sleep and a good shower. Location is lovely and very quiet, the owners truly care about their guests. 10/10

Another wonderful holiday at one of Mel and Adrian's cottages.

Stayed at Hall Cottage previously with family. Just the two of us this time so stayed at Garden Cottage next door, again did not disappoint. Everything you need and more. Very cosy and comfortable cottage. We would definitely recommend both of the cottages. Will definitely be back.

Lovely clean well equipped cottage but unfortunately I wouldn't book again as it was very cold and turning the heating thermostat up made no difference to the warmth of the cottage, upstairs had no radiators or form of heating, considering the bathroom and bedroom are large, down stairs underfloor heating dosnt heat up the bedroom and bathroom,it needs radiators upstairs.

I had problems with the front door lock, most of the time I could not unlock it as it was sticking and I couldn't get out one evening, another time I couldn't get in as the key wouldn't turn in lock, after several attempts I managed to turn the key in lock to get in. I was quite stressed out by this as I didn't even have my phone or car keys on me, the door obviously doesn't fit correctly as it springs back open if it's not locked. Overall we didn't enjoy our stay and decided to leave on the Wednesday as we were fed up of been cold and the front door was an absolute pain.

We had a lovely stay at Garden cottage it was beautiful clean and well equipped and very warm and cosy .

The bed was really comfy ,It was really nice to have throws provided for the furniture and bed so the dogs could get up .The garden was lovely and enclosed so we were happy for our dogs to go out without us worrying, great location for visiting the Yorkshire Dales and county Durham would definitely love to stay again .

Easily the nicest cottage we have used. Very well equipped in every way. We were emailed prior to arrival with a list of what would be in the cottage for us. We met the owner as we were leaving and had a lovely long chat. We were made so welcome by all the locals. Be aware the pub is only open 4 nights a weeks, but we'll worth it when you can get in. The food was amazing. A small menu but perfect! It is worth booking in advance if you want to eat there.

Extremely well presented cottage.

Plenty of room for 2 plus four legged friend! Blankets, bowl, towel and treats provided, so doggy felt very welcome! Cottage is comfortably furnished and beautifully decorated and maintained. We were warm and cosy, and able to just relax and enjoy! Well equipped too, plenty of cooking utensils, and my favourite kitchen item….a slow cooker, just perfect for hot meal after a long day out exploring! We had previously stayed at larger cottage next door with extended family, and would not hesitate to recommend both cottages. Beautiful scenery and walks on the doorstep too.

The owner Mel kept contact and she was there if we needed her This was our 4th cottage this month with Sykes and we definitely saved the best till last. It was ideal position to explore the surround area and lots of walks including the enclosed garden for our girls My husband and I both had bad colds on the last few days of our holiday but the cottage was cosy and very comfortable Thanks Mel and Adrian for your hospitality, we will be back

A beautiful cottage in a lovely quiet village with fantastic places to visit and walk in the surrounding areas.

The cottage was very clean, lovely large comfortable bed and excellent shower. Shame there wasn't a washing machine/dryer as this is sometimes needed after walks in the rain clothes get muddy but this did not spoil the whole holiday experience. We would return.

Disappointed in the internet, I know it's rural but why was the data restricted? After 2 days internet access was non existent, this should be reflected in the Sykes listing. Lovely pub with great food, shame it is only open Wed to Sat.

Garden cottage is homely, clean, comfortable and very dog friendly.

The location is set in a pretty village with walks from the doorstep and amazing scenery not too far a drive away. There are a couple of pubs locally that are very good for food. I would highly recommend this cottage and hope to return in the future.

This is our 3rd consecutive year at Garden Cottage.

Always great communication from the owners. It is in a lovely, quiet location, handy for days out, as well as local walks. The cottage is well equipped with a real 'home from home' feel making it very easy to relax. The enclosed garden is perfect for our dog and to sit out with a BBQ in the evenings, listening to birds and seeing the sunsets. We will be back next year.

Love the area, the friendly people, stunning walks and activities. The garden cottage is perfect for us and our two dogs , Mel and Adrian are fantastic hosts , the cottage is so well equipped and furnished , very comfy bed. Great bathroom and plenty of hot water, enclosed garden for dogs , definitely avail yourself of the pub opposite! Great people and beer! Cottage has lovely touches that make it homely and make you feel very welcome and that they are pleased you are there . Great hosts . A lovely cottage the owners have obviously sat down and thought carefully about what they wanted to achieve and then executed their plans.

They have thought of every little detail, very impressive. We would recommend the cottage to anyone.

This is a very cosy old Dales cottage that has been substantially modernised and improved in recent years, but without losing its character.

It is very dog friendly and we specifically liked the properly secure rear garden, in which we felt our dogs were safe, unless you have one trained to police standards and capable of completing an assault course !! The owners were happy to answer queries prior to our stay, without having to go through Sykes, and were only at the end of a telephone in case of further queries or problems during our stay. The only gripe is that the upstairs wooden floor is noisy, but that could be called character ! We would be happy to stay there again. One point for those with an arthritic dog, we would suggest taking a few mats to put down on uncarpeted downstairs floors, in order to prevent excited skids.

Dogs are secure in the garden area. Everything you need with WiFi, smart TV, coffee machine, parking off road. Area is great for exploring and walking and pub just across the road. Very quite. Fantastic property for a relaxing break away with the pooches.

Garden cottage was the cleanest holiday property we have stayed at.

Beautifully maintained, and very spacious for two. Also extremely dog friendly, not just dog tolerant, with a secure grassed back garden. Our only slightly negative comment, and it does sound very petty,( but also very annoying), was the horribly squeaky upstairs floors!!! The bathroom, which is huge with a super efficient shower, and ‘half’ the bedroom floor!!! When we say squeaky, it really doesn’t do it justice!!! Not sure what’s going off with them, but they really are very bad!!!! That said, we would return and had a lovely week regardless of the awful weather. Off road Parking was perfect.

Lovely, clean, quiet cottage, light and spacious - perfect for two.

Very well equipped for self-catering. We loved having the coffee pod machine and the roaring wood fire when it was snowing outside!! Communication from the owners was excellent. Well located for days out. Our highlight was the Green Cow reservoir and the walk to Cauldron Snout in the snow - spectacular!

Garden cottage exceeded my expectations, clean, comfortable and dog friendly.

Set off road in a quiet village the cottage is one of the nicest properties I have had the pleasure to stay in. I would highly recommend and certainly return in the near future.

With Garden Cottage there wasn't anything the owners had not considered and provided for. A property which catered for dog owners but you would never know a dog had been on the premises; the cleanliness was outstanding. Wonderful to have so many walks directly from the property. A truly memorable week in a lovely part of the UK.

We had a lovely relaxing stay with our 2 yorkies.

There are lots of picturesque villages and market towns to visit in the area. The local pub was lovely serving excellent food. The accommodation was well maintained, rooms a good size giving a real feeling of space. Garden was secure even for our small girls, a nice feeling of privacy for the week. We will look to return.

So loved the cottage.

even phoned lady to say so.no one greeted us to say hello and make sure it was us but we ok with that..bed and property so fab so much spacual and our dog loved the garden so safe and secure.but if you have a dog that can jump a 4ish foot fence without a run up it's not good..quite a long drop other side of low fence.we felt happy there...Will have to say thow in the oven was a baking tray with last customers tinfoil and food left in oven plus all baking trays had waste food crumbs on them and one of them was so so rusty should have been washed and or thrown away.i did write this in visiters book with a v.good review.please don't not go there it is so clean and fresh having said above comments..we loved it there.WOULD GO BACK.

This was our 2nd visit to Garden Cottage, last year we came in July in the heatwave so we didn't appreciate the local walks as much as this year.

Very well equipped cottage everything you need, lovely bed & bed linen. Great hosts, good communication, the biscuits for us & dog treats are welcome upon arrival. Totally enclosed garden for our dog and BBQ which we made use of through the week, weather was lovely

Cottage easy to locate, plenty of room to park up outside garage doors.

Accommodation just as described, everything you need for a comfortable weeks stay, lovely and cosy. You will get to not notice the squeaky floorboards upstairs!!! Fantastic stay, great walks, exploring castles and local area hotspots. You must eat at the 4 ALLS, superb food and the owners so friendly, plus the locals aint bad either! Nice one Dave and Christine, top marks. Loads of snow on the last day made our holiday very interesting but top marks to the owners for thinking of everything, great cottage. We had a lovely week in Ovington, the cottage is in a great village location, with plenty of local walks.

The cottage has everything you need and is very well equipped and dog friendly. There is a local pub which opens Wed-Sat, where the food is outstanding and we were made very welcome by the owners and the locals. Barnard Castle and Richmond are close by, with that market town feel. We had to contact the cottage owners on the day we were leaving, due to a puncture on our car, which delayed our departure. We cannot thank them enough for their help and understanding. Would highly recommend and would like to return again. Neil, Sue & Poppy

Extremely dog friendly and spotlessly clean. Would have rated 10/10 if there had been a washing machine - It was February and a few muddy walks were had. Great location for visiting the surrounding area. Definitely a thumbs up from us

Lovely property, larger than it looks in photos.

Very clean and everything you need to cook in if necessary. Bed was split into singles and very comfortable with quality linens. Plenty storage for clothes. Very secure garden for our small dog, he enjoyed treats left for him. Ovington is a lovely village with nice local walks. Pub very friendly with superb freshly cooked food , and lovely hosts. Ideally situated for visiting various places. Thankyou.

A very clean and comfortable cottage with a well secured garden for our dog who particularly also liked the underfloor heating!

Good facilities and well stocked with utensils etc. Off road parking was a welcome bonus.

This was a lovely property in a very good location.

There were many places to visit and good walks in the village itself. The cottage was comfortable with good facilities and very well equipped. The garden was also lovely; we enjoyed sitting out in it and our dog enjoyed exploring it. We had a very nice meal in the local pub on Saturday evening.

All was going well until the Thursday evening.

We went to put out the rubbish before the Friday morning bin collection. Only to discover that we could not exit the front of the property, the lock to the door was jammed and faulty. We then tried to open both front windows to put the rubbish bag through only to discover to our horror that they were screwed down. We immediately phoned the owner, Mel, who was very reluctant to come and deal with the situation, stating she hadn't got a car, we said get a taxi and call a locksmith since we believed that being locked in with no escape apart from the back garden, which has a 60ft drop at the end of it and no where else to go, was a fire hazard. Her advice was do not light the wood burning stove, obviously she had never heard of electrical fires. She said she would call us back in five minutes,she did with the response that she could n't get a locksmith. We told her we would somehow break down the door and wanted this dangerous situation seen to immediately. She said she would call us back again. At this juncture we managed to get two screws out of one of the windows this gave us an 18" gap for us to try and squeeze through. Someone called Adrian arrived at this time with a spare key which he tried from the outside this did not work either and agreed that the lock was broken and he un-padlocked the store room which was attached to the property and unlocked the other door two doors inside there and gave us the key so at least we could get to the front of the property. He said he would arrange for a locksmith to visit the next morning and change the lock and give us new keys, this happened however when trying the new keys they would operate from the inside of the property to Adrian called the locksmith back and he had to re-drill the key hole so that the new key would fit. We strongly urge that you recommend that the owner of this property does not screw down the windows but replaced them with window locks that you can operate from the inside which is a SIMPLE remedy. No where in the property could we find the electrical check certificates which have ALWAYS been present in other holiday cottages that we have stayed in.

The owners have thought of everything needed for your stay. Good enclosed garden for your dog(s). Village is quiet only 1 pub with limited opening days/hours, unfortunately no shop.

Our stay at the Garden cottage was the most relaxing holiday we have ever had the facilities were excellent and the cottage is very comfortable with a lovely quiet garden to sit in Mel the host was very friendly and at the end of the phone if we needed her which we didn’t as we had no issues at all we have already booked to return next year

A lovely cottage in a quiet but convenient village.

The fully enclosed garden and the provision of throws for the furniture was great for dog owners. The property was more spacious than expected. The airy bedroom and comfortable mattress led to a good night’s sleep.

The cottage was above our expectations, loved everything about it, good position for visiting local attractions very friendly people in village such a lovely welcoming feeling as soon as we arrived.

lovely vi)age with a pub but MUST book in advance as it is tiny and soon gets booked..we went 2 night to eat there..fab food and dog friendly.no takeaways seem deliver nearest place to order and collect food from was barnard castle.lots of walks from door..but so,much to visit ..old churches.. ruined abbeys..castles and alot of them for free.wonderful part of the country and wonderful palce to stay.wpuld definetley return..sky sports/film and coffee machine lovely extras...thank you for our fab stay...

Extremely comfortable, clean, lots of space. The owners have thought of everything to make your stay perfect! We all felt genuinely welcome, the quality of bed, bed linen and towels were great. I had problems getting my husband out of the walk in shower! Our dog loved the cottage and the garden. Our mornings were spent watching, listening and trying to identify all the birds in and around the garden. A sheltered area would make it beyond perfection! The village is quiet and well located and the owners are on hand if you need them. We would have stayed for ever if we could have!

This cottage has got to be the nicest we have stayed at.

So much so, that after the first day we rebooked for later in the year. Everything was scrupulously clean and all needs catered for. We felt at home as soon as we entered. The garden was beautiful and completely enclosed which was so reassuring in regards to our labrador. He too was made very welcome with treats provided for his arrival along with a towel and dog brush if needed. The bedroom was beautiful and the bed was enormous and very comfortable. The village itself was so friendly and very quiet. The pub in the village provided good food and was also extremely friendly and helpful in recommending places to visit. We would definitely recommend this property.

Lovely cottage, well equipped, clean and comfy in a nice little village.

The weather was kind for December and we got out on lots of walks with the dogs. Would recommend.

A perfect cottage in the most peaceful location, it had everything space, comfort, underfloor heating, Sky TV, TV in the bedroom that had a fabulous big bed and a secure garden for the dog, the only "bangs" to be heard on New Year's Eve was someone pulling a Christmas cracker in the cosy local pub, we've booked again for November & December 2022!

Just 1 minor detail missing is a washing machine for full week stays and after long wet & dirty walks, but otherwise this cottage is faultless!

This is a very comfortable and well equipped cottage with a secure back garden for our dogs.

Ovington is a pleasant village with easy access to the small towns in the area. The local pub offers excellent meals and is in walking distance (100 yards at the most).

Its presentation was superb with great attention to detail. To say it was dog friendly is an understatement Dogs were positively welcomed. An absolute pleasure to stay there and a credit to the owners!

A marvelous week spent relaxing at Garden Cottage in the ''Maypole'' village of Ovington.

The cottage was spotlessly clean, bright, comfortable and very well equipped. My 4 pawed friend was delighted with his Jumbo bone and the wife and I enjoyed the complimentary biscuits. I was very excited to be able to relax and watch the Ryder Cup as Sky Sports was available. The area surrounding Ovington is a walkers paradise. The 4 Alls pub in the village does lovely food (please be aware the pub isn't open 7 days a week) and serves great beers. Plenty to see and do in a lovely part of the country returning each evening to a cracker of a cottage. Perfect

Garden Cottage is an exceptionally elegant and comfortable place to stay, in a lovely village between Barnard Castle (our new favourite town!

) and Richmond. Garden is indeed very pretty and perfect for dogs. Good pub over the road with very good, proper home-cooked food. Came back with two very happy dogs, having done lots of walking in the beautiful (and under-rated) North Pennines.

Garden Cottage is absolutely gorgeous.

The cottage was very clean and the dog treats, water bowl, milk and biscuits was a nice touch. Very pet orientated, there were even throws provided to put on the furniture to enable the dogs to sit bedside you. Lots of books provided and literature on where to visit and where you can exercise your dogs in and around the village. Sky on the tv was a bonus and also the tv in the bedroom. I couldn’t fault Garden Cottage at all. The walled garden was very pretty and safe for your legged friends. The village is lovely and the Four Alls pub is a must to visit, the food, was fab, and the staff very friendly. We will definitely book again in the future. We met the hosts Mel and Adrian - what a lovely, friendly couple.

This is one of the best cottages we have ever stayed in , there was everything that we could ask for and the enclosed garden was superb for us and the dogs The pub across the road served some of the best pub / home cooked food we have ever eaten and we would recommend to anyone A top class cottage and village

Garden is perfect for dogs. The pub 150m away is awesome. Great dog walks all around the area. Rivers and Waterfalls. Valleys and hills. Castles and Abbeys. Just perfect.

Beautiful cottage located in a lovely peaceful village yet close to Richmond barnard Castle and many areas of interest all within a twenty minutes drive.

The cottage was spotless and very nicely furnished, with everything you would need and more. Huge and very comfortable bed for a good night's sleep. Double doors that open to a nice private and totally dog secure garden. With chairs, tables and a BBQ. Our dog was made so welcome by the owners with a nice bag of doggy treats and bowl of fresh water waiting for his arrival, as well as treats left for us. The dog friendly Four Alls village pub is so welcoming and friendly with good food and selection of beers. Some lovely countryside walks can be found from Easby Abbey, egglestone abbey, Richmond Castle, Barnard Castle, and the station Richmond. All with areas for your dog to have a nice swim. Nice walk from cottage, walk past four alls pub then turn right, walk down street to the bridle way, nice flat easy walk across fields. Think our dog enjoyed the holiday even more than we did. We will be booking this cottage again.

The cottage is absolutely beautiful, garden lovely to sit in and safe for our dog.

We loved it here and it was well placed for visiting all local attractions.

Beautifully updated cottage in a very quiet but convenient location . Well equipped and well configured with good parking conveniently situated for access to local amenities . Garden cottage is an excellent choice for a relaxing break ,deceptively spacious with a large bedroom and bathroom . The log burner in the lounge area makes for a cosy setting with good sky service on the TV . The enclosed garden catches the sun in the afternoon and is perfect for pet owners . The extra supply of logs for a reasonable charge was very much appreciated . The owners are very thorough and well organised with their welcoming email which saves having to call on the phone . Full 5 stars throughout to Mel and Adrian . Thank you John and Sandra

We would love to go again, next time we will cut the grass and tidy the garden and have two nights for the price of one

Garden Cottage was deceptively spacious.

it was immaculate and very well equipped. Our dog, Willow was very welcome, not merely tolerated. There were treats for her and a bowl of fresh water on arrival. We were able to let her come and go as she pleased in the enclosed garden that is mainly grass, without worrying about her. The village pub was very good and dog friendly. The cottage is well placed to explore the surrounding area and we visited Barnard Castle, Durham and Richmond. It is also an excellent area for anybody who enjoys walking with many footpaths nearby. I definitely recommend this cottage.

Garden Cottage is a really lovely holiday home.

Small but perfect. A secure back garden for the dogs which we took full advantage of ourselves to sit out in the sunshine. Beautiful bedding, white linen and clean white towels The pub across the road makes great food and is very welcoming

With two escape-artists for dogs, we needed the best secured garden we could find and Garden Cottage met this need in spades.

There was not an inch where any dog, even a small one, could wriggle its way through the back fence and the walls were old and impenetrable, with no access from the garden to the front of the house enhancing the safety. Possibly a dog with agility training could leap the fence but I doubt it!! There is a lovely walk across fields along a bridlepath, just within a few minutes' stroll along the village main street, no stiles so our lumbering and quite heavy Labradors could plod and run along easily once we were past the farmer's fields with livestock.Anyone would think this was primarily the dogs' holiday!.The cottage was so cosy and comfortable, the furnishings of the highest standard,and the village was quiet, away from main roads though easy to access form A66. The open plan layout was perfect as it allowed us to bar the dogs from going upstairs by a simple repositioning of the shoe stand.The bedroom and bathroom were huge. Because the weather was so warm, we had no chance to try out the woodburner, and that's as good a reason as any I can think of of going back to Garden Cottage again in an autumn or winter month and enjoying again the lovely countryside of Co Durham and North Yorkshire.

Garden cottage was exceptionally clean & beautifully presented, really cozy with the log burner as was sleet & snow outside. Pub over the road was fab too very friendly & welcoming & food although a basic menu was very tasty & excellent value for money. We would love to return in the future to see more of the surrounding area, as the bad weather ment we couldn't explore as much as we would have liked. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND XX

This was the second time that we have stayed at the Garden Cottage in Ovington.

It is beautifully furnished, extremely comfortable and very warm, especially noted as it was a very cold weekend. The cottage is very well appointed and very dog friendly. It was a pleasure to go back there after being out all day. Thank you I hope we can go back in the future. Jan Chamberlain

The cottage is very dog friendly and the enclosed garden is a godsend. There is lots to do in the surrounding area and some beautiful walks. Barnard Castle has lots to offer. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this cottage to anyone who wants the perfect home from home getaway. We will be returning.

This was our second time at garden cottage , and everything was just as we remembered it.

The cottage felt like 'home' very cosy, well equipped, furniture very comfy & the bed was heaven.

It was great having an enclosed garden for our 2 Jack Russells. Ovington is a lovely quiet village & would definately book again.

The facilities were exceptional, and the cake and dog treats were welcome.

The throws and dog water bowl showed how dog friendly the cottage was. We enjoyed having access to Sky, and the cottage was clean and cosy. We would definitely stay here again.
