Set in very peaceful surroundings. Full of character and rustic charm. The log burner was perfect for a winters evening. The owners made us very welcome and Ted,the Scottie dog, came to see us every morning.

  • "Despite managing to book our little break during the wettest (and consequently muddiest) week of the year, we did enjoy our stay."

The cottage had a lovely cosy farmhouse feel to it (as it would, being on a working farm) and a very relaxing holiday was had by all. We particularly appreciated the warm radiators and airers for drying all the washing and wet boots. Lovely owners and lovely location within very short drive of little villages, amazing fish and chips, Indian takeaway etc.

  • "Fabulous cottage very spacious and comfortable, very well appointed and spotlessly clean."

Friendly and helpful host. I would really like to give it 5 stars but I feel it is let down by the cooker hob. It has old style solid plates that are slow to heat up and slow to cool down, and the controls have no markings. This detracts from the pleasure of even basic cooking.

  • "Every amenity catered for."

Lovely cottage with plenty of room to move about. The owners were very pleasant and Ted their lovely little dog welcomed us with tail wagging. He is such a pro. Our dog Poppy enjoyed the freedom of being able to go into the enclosed area at the rear of the cottage and we enjoyed the relaxation of sitting, reading and chilling out before going out for dinner in the many lovely pub restaurants. I would recommend this wonderful working farm.

  • "Lovely peaceful place to stay, the owner was extremely friendly and helpful."

Would be wonderful in the summer months although we did have excellent weather for October. Lots to see in the area, only downside was quite a way to the nearest pub / restaurant on narrow country roads.

  • "The cottage as a whole was fine and we had an enjoyable stay with a few caveats."

First of all the cooker was ancient and it took 2 hours to cook a meal as it took ages to heat up and as a result we ate out more than we expected. Secondly the The DVD player was old and every time we put in a dvd and tried to ply it, it had a pink tinge to the picture and was so datk we could not watch it and there was a complete lack of operating instrucions for anything in the cottage. We bought a lot of food with us but there was no freezer to put it in apart from a very small compartment at the top of the fridge.

  • "Our second stay at Sunset Cottage."

Lovely cottage in beautiful surroundings. The log burner and visiting Ted the dog, & Ernie the cat, made our stay more welcoming. Situated on a working farm, with the moors on our doorstep. The coast also is within a short travelling distance. Surrounded by never ending fields and lots & lots of sheep. Would definitely recommend a visit to Eden Camp, greatly under estimated, but what an interesting day out! We had a fantastic time, a big thank you to Janet! We will be back…. The wood burner was an added treat, making it all very cosy. In addition we temporarily adopted two farm cats, who equally loved sitting in front of the fire with us. Set in a quiet, remote location with beautiful scenery. An ideal gateway to the moors and coast. Janet made us feel very welcome, and would definitely recommend and return.

Janet called by a couple of times to check that everything was as it should be, and was on hand with local recommendations! It was great to have an enclosed outdoor space to let our dog exercise in. The woodburner was a nice touch and we enjoyed having that alight on a couple of nights. We would definitely come back, and having the possibility of hiring two cottages so you could visit with a group of families or friends really makes these properties an even more attractive proposition. Thank you to Janet and her family for making us feel welcome and ensuring a wonderful stay even if the weather was rather unpredictable!
