You can bring your pets and children along and enjoy the fun farming activities, Cowldyke Farm is an excellent place for groups of family and friends to come together and enjoy this marvellous setting. Choose from a range of outdoor sitting areas to relax among the refreshing country air, you angling enthusiasts can even bring your fly fishing rod. Head three and a half miles north to reach the charming market town of Kirkbymoorside, lined with pretty stone buildings as well as a golf club. For those avid ramblers and cyclists, venture through the magnificent North York Moors, a glorious landscape bursting with scenery and religious ruins to explore. The attractive old market town of Kirkbymoorside lies on the edge of the North York Moors National Park, in between the towns of Helmsley and Pickering. It is a charming place, full of Yorkshire character, and is the centre for the local farms and villages. Visitors will find a variety of shops from tea rooms, pubs and restaurants to antique shops, while there is a market day on Wednesday. The excellent walking and magnificent scenery of the National Park are close by, as are the picturesque villages of Hutton-le-Hole and Lastingham. Pickering is the base of the North York Moors Steam Railway - a ‘must do’ day out for all visitors to the area. Castle Howard, York, Whitby and the Yorkshire Coast are within easy driving distance.
