  • "Spent five days at this lovely cottage."

Very clean and comfortable - slept very well in super comfortable beds. Everything we needed was there. Plentiful hot water (water is very hot but there are notices about this). There had been some comments about the TV previously, but BBC I player and ITV X were easily accessible with the instructions provided. Visited many places within a short drive from the property - Saltburn, Marske and Whitby all within easy reach. A lovely little cottage in a good central location which provided, we thought, very good value for money.

Thank you Jane for your lovely feedback. I’m so pleased you had everything you needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay. Loftus is a great base to discover and explore all the Yorkshire Coastline has to offer. We are fortunate to have such wonderful places to visit right on our doorstep. Best Wishes, Stephanie Property Owner

  • "The cottage is in a great location the views are gorgeous unfortunately the weather was a unkind to us and we couldn't enjoy them."

As a previous guest pointed out no hairdryer having stayed in numerous cottages they are always provided.parking was never a issue and the cottage is homely and comfortable

Thank you for your valued feedback, Lisa. I’m glad you had a comfortable stay at the cottage and found North Terrace to be a homely experience for you all.Your point about the hairdryer has been noted and we now provide a hairdryer for guests to use. I hope upon your next visit to the area that the weather will be a bit kinder. The start of the summer season has been a bit of a wash out, which is such a shame as we do have some wonderful views at the cottage. With best wishes Stephanie Property Owner

  • "Had a lovely week at North Terrace."

The house itself is very comfortable, clean and bright. The kitchen is well equipped and we had everything we needed. The lounge is comfortable and the bedrooms are also very cosy. The owner was available via phone when we had a slight issue and she was very understanding and made us feel at ease. All in all i would visit this cottage again as we had a lovely relaxing stay. The views and location are beautiful and the house warm and welcoming. We had a some great days out and The Tiger Inn at Easington is well worth a visit for some lovely pub grub! Thanks Stephanie for your hospitality and we hope to be back in the future.

Thank you Louise, you’re very welcome. I’m glad you had a comfortable and relaxing stay at North Terrace and enjoyed what the local area had to offer. We are very lucky to have such lovely views at the cottage and it will be our pleasure to welcome you back to stay. Best Wishes Stephanie. Property Owner

  • "North Terrace was so clean, comfortable and welcoming."

A nice bowl of water and biscuits for our dog plus a big comfy bed for him. Everything you could need. Lovely cosy furnishings and the most comfiest beds. Owners readily available for any needs, not that we had any but good to know they are there if needed. Great spot for trips to local places and walking distance to Hummersea Bay and the Cleveland Way, stunning views. Public footpaths in all directions so great for walkers. Walking distance to beautiful Skinningrove beach (we cheated and drove tho due to the steep hill!). We had a lovely time, I highly recommend North Terrace and hope to return one day.

Thank you for your lovely review Rachael. I’m so pleased you enjoyed your stay at North Terrace and got to experience the beautiful scenery and coastal walks that the area has to offer. We look forward to welcoming you back to stay. Best Wishes Stephanie. Property Owner

The cottage feels better than the photos. The cottage has everything you need and more. It is super clean and well looked after. The views from the bedrooms and living room are spectacular. We loved the walks nearby and we even surfed at Skinningrove! Leo, our dog loved the area and found many friends. He enjoyed the treats and comfy bed provided by the host.

  • "A lovely comfortable cottage with great views."

Everywhere was very clean and well maintained throughout. The kitchen was well equipped and the beds were very comfortable. The only niggle I had was there was no iron but that wouldn't put me off from returning again.

  • "Everything about the cottage was immaculate."

Lots of utensils and kitchen equipment everything we needed was there. One thing we felt was missing was another comfy chair in the lounge when there are four adults. This did not stopping us from having a great time.

Thank you John for your valuable feedback. I'm so pleased that you had an enjoyable stay at North Terrace and found the cottage to be comfortable and well equipped. We aim to offer our guests a home from home experience with little touches to get your stay off to a good start. A new 3 seater sofa, 2 seater sofa and footstool are now in the property and we hope these make comfortable additions for guests moving forward. Property Owner

  • "A nice cottage in a lovely location."

On the whole, good value for money and very comfortable. Disappointing that TV reception was so poor and at times unwatchable. Also lots of dog hairs on the sofa and carpets - fine if you're a dog lover, not so fine if you're not.

Thank you Nigel for taking the time to leave us a review of your stay at North Terrace. I’m glad you had a comfortable stay and enjoyed the beautiful surroundings. It's a shame that we were not made aware of these problems during your stay as it would have been in our best interest to resolve this for you. We will take onboard your comments and at present we are looking into providing guests with terrestrial T.V through a digital aerial. Property Owner

  • "North Terrace is a wonderful and homely venue."

Beautifully clean and tidy, with a well appointed kitchen, comfy beds and lovely and warm. Lots of thoughtful touches included to get your stay off to a good start. Our German Shepherd, a fussy little girl, loved the dog bed and dog biscuits provided and would give it 5 paws if she could! Ideally situated to explore the surrounding area including one of the 'best kept secret' beaches in the UK. Thoroughly recommend.

Thank you for such lovely feedback. I’m so glad you had a comfortable and enjoyable stay at North Terrace, and got to discover the hidden gem of Skinningrove beach and the surrounding coastline. We are very fortunate to have such beautiful scenery on our doorstep and look forward to welcoming you back to stay next year. Property Owner

  • "No terrestial television!"

Neither Sykes nor owner warned us about this. No information on how to get best out of television in light of above Heating - radiators difficult to use. Clear instructions needed NO cafetiere - advised owner but still none provided. Doggy smell on arrival

Thank you for your feedback Robert. I am sorry you had some disappointing elements to your stay, in particular the T.V package that we offer guests at North Terrace. As I explained to you when we spoke on the telephone we are unable to offer terrestrial television at this present time due to a fire that happened at Bilsdale Mast last year, which affected the signal in the area. In light of this We have aimed to provide a full viewing package through a smart T.V which allows guests to view many channels through the apps on the T.V, including BBC IPlayer, BBC Live, ITV Hub and Netflix. In reflection you should have been made aware on booking the cottage to avoid your disappointment of the facilities that we offer to our guests. I will take onboard your feedback to include a cafetire. I do appreciate how nice it is to enjoy a fresh cup of coffee first thing on a morning or following a brisk walk on the beach. • "A lovely little terraced cottage, very clean and tidy with everything you need for a great stay."

Neighbours had builders in while we were there so not as a relaxing holiday as we were expecting, having said that, it wasnt constant noise but the hammering/drilling etc did get a bit annoying at times. Views from the cottage were lovely and the beach about a mile away was great for our little dog but beware the hill down is very steep, we went in the car as advised by the neighbour and glad we did.

  • "Really lovely house and very well equipped."

We cooked from scratch daily and there’s was everything we needed. A very quiet area and all the neighbours we bumped into were lovely. The back little yard goes onto a lane, which is very handy to let the dog onto to go for a wee. You can walk to the beach easily (1 mile) and great access to the coastal path. We had a car which we did use a fair bit, but I think there’s buses from Loftus (which is a short walk away).
