  • "Whilst waiting for my "new build" house I had a lengthy stay at Scarborough Cottage with my dog."

The house provided all my needs but would have liked a washing machine instead of dish washer. I enjoyed lots of dog walks around Driffield which is a friendly place. Central heating was good and easy to control.

  • "We had a lovely stay at Scarborough cottage."

Everything we needed as a family of five exploring Yorkshire. Close to Bridlington, we also visited, flamingo land, York Maze and Scarborough. Driffield is a lovely place, lots of nice surrounding walks and plenty of shops, restaurants and takeaways. A lovely comfortable property. Our only criticism would be the blind in the front bedroom let in a lot of light so we woke as soon as the sun came up and also got the room very hot. But other than that we had a fantastic stay here and would definitely stay again. Thank you Scarborough cottage!

In a ideal location with local shops and easy free parking. Stayed for 3 weeks and property was very comfy and had everything needed. Would recommend.

  • "We were disappointed in this cottage."

The kitchen and bathroom were not clean and I had to spend the first evening cleaning. We had to buy a throw before we could sit on the sofa as it smelt so awful and the curtain pole was falling down, the fire place had not been cleaned. Cutlery, crockery, pots and pans were all good and upstairs was fine. Only a tiny backyard so not really dog friendly. No where in the description did it say the bathroom was downstairs.

We are sorry that the cottage didn't appear to meet your expectations. However, we always appreciate feedback as we really like our place and want our guests to enjoy it too. We strive to achieve a comfortable home from home cottage for our guests to enjoy. Property Owner

  • "Loved this cottage, although small for a family of 5 and a dog, it was more than adequate."

Well situated with a Nisa opposite for shopping and one of the best chippy's we've ever eaten on the corner. Sad not to have had the chance for another meal from there. Driffield is a lovely town, open-hearted friendly people, some great restaurants and pubs. Perfect location for beaches, and surrounding tourist attractions. Trains station within walking distance, a park for early morning dog walks. Sykes were brilliant, offering cleaning and clean towels during our stay. Thanks for a great Yorkshire experience, we can't wait to come back!

  • "Clean and tidy accommodation."

Very helpful owners when we thought we had a problem, they were keen to help and sort it out. No washing machine but a good local launderette.

  • "Positive..."

.location, fab fish and chips shop nearby, and shop across the road. Good shower Negatives, the Kitchen needed a good clean, oven and dishwasher very dirty, ended up not using the kitchen at all. And the oven gloves needed throwing away. No light bulb working in the second bedroom, one bulb missing in main bedroom. No curtains in front bedroom, just a cheap blind, used sheet off bed to keep the morning light out. Not enough storage in bedrooms for a couple, so don't know how 5 would fair.

Thank you for your feedback as you can see this is our first negative review. We were shocked when we recieved this as we take pride in our holiday home. I am sorry that you experienced these issues whilst staying in our property. We can assure you that we have addressed these problems, and will make sure they do not happen again. We hope to see you again in the future . Property Owner

  • "Last minute booking for a brief visit to the area."

The owner was very helpful & accommodating. The cottage is ideally based for travel & transport links as well as being within walking distance of the town centre. There is a convenience store opposite which has everything you might need. Parking on the street was not a problem at all. We only used the kettle & the fridge, but there are cooking facilities & a dishwasher, which would be handy for a longer stay. The shower was great, with plenty of hot water. Scarborough Cottage was ideal for our needs on this trip & we would stay again.

It would have been nice to have bed side lights on both sides of the beds and some tumbler type glasses would have been appreciated

  • "The cottage was very clean, tidy and warm with plenty of hot water."

The owner left lots of manuals and instructions so we could easily find out how everything worked. Kitchen was well equipped - only negative in the kitchen was the saucepans, they have definitely seen better days! The towels were large and soft and fluffy. The bedding was soft and the beds were comfy. The location of the cottage was excellent to travel to all of the places we wanted to visit and there are lots of shops and stores etc in Driffield, including the very convenient NISA store that was pretty much opposite and stocks practically everything you need. I would definitely recommend this cottage

  • "Few items missing i."

    E. Kindling, matches for the wood burner-we left ours for the next people. Also washing up bowl, broom, toilet brush-maybe removed due to covid 19? Although property stated it is dog friendly, the back yard was very small and luckily I found a park nearby for exercising dog and to allow her to do her business there. And no visitor book to sign. However overall this property was well situated for exploring the local area and we had a great week away.
