Rose Cottage is a characterful, 200-year-old stone-built holiday home situated in the rural heart of East Ayton, North Yorkshire.
With captivating castle views and just a short stroll from the local shop and pub, this pet-friendly haven is perfect for families or friends seeking a quaint national park escape.
Upon entering the property, you will be greeted by a lounge, then into the kitchen, perfect for preparing home-cooked meals to be enjoyed in the dining room, which easily seats all guests.
The sitting room, complete with an open fire, provides a warm space to unwind after a day of exploring, perhaps with a favourite film or a good book.
The sleeping arrangements consist of three lovely bedrooms.
On the ground floor, you will find a welcoming double bedroom, complete with a downstairs shower room /wc for added convenience.
Upstairs, a super king-size bedroom and a twin room (zip/link, can be kingsize on request) await, both offering a serene place to rest those sleepy heads and recharge for the next day's adventures.
Completing the interior of this charming cottage is a family bathroom, featuring a bath with a shower over.
Venture outside to the rear of the property where a fully enclosed multi-level garden awaits.
Here, you can enjoy a morning coffee on the patio or spend a lazy afternoon on the lawn, soaking up the calm surroundings of this rural retreat.

A beautiful cottage in a stunning location, on a road that’s very busy morning, evenings and weekends.
Noisy boy racers were using it as a race track for hours, so best avoid local car rally days. We found a really dirty beaker in the shower room. It was covered in liquid toothpaste / dribble. The bathroom wash basin slopes, so things slide off, including the ceramic soap dispenser which we then had to find a replacement for, late Saturday evening (sorry!). The shower curtain could do with a launder. Some trays would be useful for making tea, to save the worktops, and for carrying food through the lounge into the dining room. Having said all that, we would return and the above could turn it from 4* to a 5* in our opinion! It would also be handy to know how to contact the owner out of hours!
Whilst we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Rose Cottage there was, for us, a downside.
We were 3 generations of family. We, as Grandparents and in our 70's, thought that the downstairs bedroom would be ideal for us. Unfortunately it wasn't. Because of the size of the room the bed had to be pushed against a wall. The only access being from one side. If the bathroom was needed in the night the person on the wall side would either have to climb over the other person or shimmy down and over the bed end. We tried to move it diagonally but with no success. Also when we moved it we found an empty yoghurt pot and it clearly hadn't been cleaned underneath for ages. Having said all of this the rest of the cottage was great and very clean and suited our family beautifully. As I said, the downstairs bedroom was the only stumbling block in a lovely cottage and garden.
Gorgeous property and a very high spec - amazing welcome Hamper - we couldn’t finish it all!
Kids loved the outdoor games selections and there’s plants to choose from indoors too. Ideal base to pop to and from Scarborough and the village Fish Restaurant, Walkers, was excellent!
