"Very relaxing stay, I can't fault the accommodation or location, the owners are very friendly and helpful."
I have to mention the views from the courtyard which are fantastic. We walked into Egton which takes about 15 minutes, no footpaths, but the road is wide and not too busy. We ate in the Witching Post Inn, beer was fine but food wasn't great so my advice would be try another establishment if you want anything other than a burger. We would definitely return to this property.

"The cottage is in a beautiful quiet location overlooking the valley towards Grosmont."
There are two bedrooms, one a twin and the other a double. Each separate bathroom has a shower and the other a bath. Spacious and comfortable combined lounge, kitchen and dining table.
Large patio with table, chairs and other chairs and tables. Perhaps a sun lounger would be appreciated. Overall a lovely cottage ,with helpful owners , living in the farmhouse nearby. Would thoroughly recommend.

"We stayed at Roding Cottage and it was a lovely place."
It was very clean, well-equipped, and had an excellent view. There were just two small things that let it down: the chairs were a bit uncomfortable, and the windows could have done with a clean.

"We had a lovely stay at Roding Cottage."
The cottage had everything we needed, along with pretty furniture, and the outside had stunning views!
The beds were very comfy, along with the house being well heated and quiet outside, made for a very peaceful night's sleep.
Loved the kitchen, however the sofa/chairs set up was a bit awkward when watching TV and the sofa was a bit uncomfortable. The fire however was lovely!!
Thank you so much for having us and making it easy to have someone to contact incase we needed it.
Would definitely return!

Hearing the steam trains pass in the valley was lovely to see. The quality of the fit, finish and furniture is top notch and well thought out. Spotless throughout - a place to return to. Five stars on every count.

"Lovely cottage with wonderful view."
Very comfortable apart from being a little cool, thermostat adjustment not being allowed.
If you are used to normal TV then getting something to watch is a challenge. Owners were called to come and explain procedure. Thankfully a good range of DVD's was provided. Overall a very pleasant and restful week. Superb local pub providing great food.

"One of the best properties we have visited."
The scenery is superb from the patio. Counted numerous species of birds. We loved Whitby for quality food, beaches and historical attractions.
Only minor issues: ill-fitting toilet seats. No caddy for toiletries in shower.

"We had a great week at Roding cottage."
It was well equipped and comfortable. Good location for Whitby and the coast and lots of other places.
The cottage was lovely and the views across the valley were stunning..
We would sit in garden and look at the views it was so peaceful. We could have done with an umbrella in garden as not much shade from sun. Not really a negative.
Edward And Gilly are a lovely friendly couple
Thanks for a fabulous holiday.

It has an amazing position in the landscape with far reaching views of Esk Dale. Such a peaceful place to rest and relax or take advantage of the position for visiting Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay, Staithes and much more. Also some lovely nearby pubs selling real ale and fabulous food. Can't recommend Roding Cottage highly enough.
Thank you so much! We loved having you - and really hope to see you again!
