  • "Ideal property for 2 people,comfy & nicely furnished."

Only slight down side was that other properties have provided a welcome pack & pass to leisure facilities. The curtsey call from the owner was a nice personal touch. The bath was out of order but the shower was fine . Might be worth mentioning when booking if it's going to be a long term issue.

We could not fault kittiwake for any reason other than kitchen storage we think if it was our flat we would not have the washing machine but have more cupboard space this is our only observation, apart from that it is a lovely flat and of cause as before will always use sykes again

  • "We had a lovey stay at Kittiwakes and the host even contacted us to see if we had settled in and all was ok."

Just an idea maybe a broom and dustpan and brush especially when you have a dog just to sweep through. Thank you again.

  • "We had a lovely 4 night stay for our 41st wedding anniversary, just the two of us and our little dog."

Directions given by the owner were very good and we found apartment without problem, good parking outside. All on ground floor with easy access. Cleanliness very good and apartment itself bright airy and modern with every home comfort provided. WiFi and TV both had good signal. The area itself is very well kept and quiet on a evening, a ten minute walk takes you to the beach which is perfect for walking dog. Had a fantastic stay, would definitely stay again and recommend to others .

  • "The cleanliness of the place was awful, one bath towel for 2 adults for seven days."

No salt &pepper; pots the frying pan in the cupboard dirty,1small pot and a milk pan not enough to cook a meal. The dispenser drawer in the washing machine was disgusting we had to clean it. We were booked for 7 days left after 4 and went to a hotel. Which cost us more money. Very dissapointed.

Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry you did not like our property. With regards to the salt and pepper we were unaware that they had disappeared, and have replaced these two items. We are sorry about the dirty frying pan and washing machine dispenser and have advised our cleaners to ensure this does not happen again. We have available in our kitchen; a large frying pan, 1 stock pot, 1 small saucepan and 1 large saucepan. They are all located in the cupboards above the washing sink. As for the towels, this was an unfortunate oversight on the part of our cleaners, but a phone call to myself would have been welcome, as I could have asked them to provide as many towels as necessary, as well as the salt and pepper. We will definitely request to book again. Generally everybody we met on site were friendly. The property is ideally situated, and the parking in front gives you peace of mind.

  • "Place was great, just a few niggles first the shower needs a better screen the water just runs straight onto the floor, this will ruin the flooring, you can see it is getting under the boards."

The dvd player had no lead so you couldn’t watch it. The tumble dryer didn’t get warm or hot to dry your clothes. Would definitely recommend, we had a lovely stay

  • "Would liked to have had some toiletries in the bathroom and more than one cheap toilet roll."

Also basics in the kitchen salt paper. It would help if you advertised that these are not included so that we could have brought our own for cooking The apartment was clean and a lovely environment. Great location. Had everything you needed for a short break apart from the above that I have stated

You'll find an on-site pizza restaurant, pub, and a general store just a brief stroll from your front door, along with leisure facilities including a swimming pool, sauna, and tennis court.

You can stroll down to the golden stretch of The Bay Beach, enjoy stunning sea views on a tranquil beach walk.

For a full day out, hop in the car and head north to neighbouring Filey, where you can spend time roaming the grounds of Glen Gardens and Filey Brigg before you brush up on some local history at Filey Museum.

Further afield, the town of Scarborough invites visitors to get up close with exotic marine life at Sea life Scarborough, enjoy a thrilling day out at the Alpamare UK water park, and even experience history at the ancient setting of Scarborough Castle.

The Bempton Cliffs nature reserve sees half a million seabirds gather in the warmer months, whilst Flamborough Head also serves as one of the most vital seabird colonies in Europe, both spots are a must-see during your stay in the region.

The North York Moors is a special place, spring daffs in Farndale, the legendary Hole of Horcum, romantic Rievaulx or beach-combing at Hayburn Wyke, lots of walks, quaint unspoilt farming villages, country pubs offering local ales, food and historic sites to visit, a must for the whole family, The North Yorkshire Moors Steam Railway is a unique experience, 24 miles of Yorkshire’s amazing scenery, it runs from Pickering Station which is a 1930s themed station that will transport you back in time to the locomotive steam era, a must-see is the celebrity station, Goathland, which became Hogsmeade Station in the first Harry Potter film, you can Explore Grosmont Station which is home to the operating and engineering world of the NYMR, explore Levisham Station which is surrounded by the North York Moors, it finishes at Whitby with its narrow streets and bustling harbour overlooked by the striking ruins of Whitby Abbey, there are many quaint small villages on the Moors, but we are very fond of Levisham and Hutton-Le-Hole both of which have lovely pubs offering good food, on the larger size, Pickering, Helmsley and Thornton-Le-Dale have lovely craft shops, cafes and pubs and all are well worth visiting.
