  • "We really enjoyed our stay at Sea Roke and will definitely look to go in the future."

    It was very clean and modern, everything that you would need was provided and the view from the garden was lovely. It was perfect for the four of us, with spacious rooms that had lots of storage. The kitchen looked new and also had lots of storage and everything you’d need. It’s down a nice, quiet road that’s about a 10 minute walk to the beach - you couldn’t get much closer. It’s also close to the town, again about a 10 minute walk and there’s a Tesco close by. If we go back to Filey again we’d happily stay here.

  • "This is our 3rd time at SeaRoke."

    It's perfectly situated for walking into Filey and Filey Brigg. The property is extremely comfortable, the cleanliness is excellent. The new kitchen is brilliant with new Bosch appliances very nice indeed. We will definitely be booking again

  • "A beautiful bungalow in a fantastic location, very well equipped and comfortable, ideal for the short walk to Filey town centre for buses to Flamborough, Bridlington, Scarborough and onwards or out onto the cliffs and The Cleveland Way Coastal Path, out through the back garden across Filey Flood Aleviation Scheme Fields, for walks to Cayton Bay and beyond or to Filey Brigg and Filey Beach and beyond to Hunmanby Gap, Reighton Sands and Speeton Sands."

  • "Very clean with a much appreciated welcome pack and information about the cottage on site."

    Comfortable with a lovely garden, especially the gorgeous view! The cottage is in a lovely, quiet area, away from the town centre and main roads, yet close enough to be able to walk into town and onto the beautiful beach. We booked to stay again next year before we left!

  • "We fell in love with this place, quality furniture, really good quality mattresses so we slept well."

  • "Having seen previous reviews was disappointed with level of cleanliness."

    Cobwebs and dust in every room, stained towel and mattress toppers dirty crockery, loose tap in kitchen. Feel a proper inspection is required for future guests to enjoy the property to its fullest. The location is lovely and quiet and we had a comfortable stay albeit the cleaning issues.

    The only thing we could fault is Sykes cottages advertise it as having a bike store, which it has it's a good size sturdy shed,but it has no locking mechanism.but if you're not bringing bikes the property is superb.

  • "Lovely bungalow so comfortable and cosy every thing is there that you need, if not more."

    Situated in an ideal spot for touring around, some great places to visit. Just one little hiccup was the step at the door leading into the house was a bit high, maybe fixing a small grab handle at the side of door would help, but it would not stop us coming back, loved it

  • "Lovely little bungalow in very handy spot for beach shops and Filey."

    Very quiet location and easy to find. Bungalow had most things although there wasn’t much room for dining table in living room and only 2 chairs in there. Had to find other chairs from bedrooms. Needs oven gloves for kitchen had to use tea towels which is not ideal for taking trays out of oven. A bit short of sockets near mirror to do hair had to take it in turns in hall. Was inundated with flies not sure if this is because it backs on to the fields but they seemed to come out in the bedrooms at night and kept us awake. Wouldn’t let this deter you from booking as we still had a great week and would go back again.

  • "A lovely bungalow in a great location, perfectly situated for the short walk into Filey and for access to The Cleveland Way clifftop path."

    Loved the raised area at the end of the garden sat out in the sunshine with drinks in the evenings. Would prefer an earlier arrival time, the bungalow was clean and well equipped and would definitely stay here again.

  • "What can I say, WOW!"

    As soon as you walked in the door you were surrounded in luxury, there is nothing cheap about the SEA ROKE, and you felt at home straight away, everything you need is there and it is all good quality. The only issue was the weather, it rained for most of the week, but that didn’t matter, the SEA ROKE was that comfortable that we were happy to stay in. Our stay was so good we booked for next year while we were there, but this time in June in the hope of having better weather. I would recommend the SEA ROKE to anyone, it is first class.

  • "Clean cottage and comfortable beds."

    Suuny outdoor area(when the sun deemed to shine)bathroom a bit small and separate toilet would have been an advantage but as there was only two of us we managed. It might be difficult to seat five round the dining room table

Sea Roke is a detached bungalow settled into the wonderful seaside resort of Filey.

This light and airy dwelling, situated within a Victorian-style resort, is perfect for friends and families looking to escape to the North East and Yorkshire Coast.

A five minute walk brings you to the town centre, where there is a variety of tea rooms, 12 pubs and bars and independent shops, whilst a ten minute walk brings you to the seafront.

Enjoy a stroll along the promenade with its brightly coloured beach huts, ornamental gardens and cafés or build sandcastles on the wonderful, long sandy beach, where you can walk for miles.

Your local shop and pub is only a seven minute walk away and there are many activities for the family to be getting involved with, from pony rides on the beach to crazy golf.

If you fancy an exciting cliff walk and to do a bit of bird spotting, Flamborough Head and Bempton RSPB Reserve is well worth a visit to see the puffins and kittiwakes both nearby.

Alternatively, venture out to Scarborough, Britain's first seaside resort, where younger guests will be delighted with the SEA LIFE Sanctuary and Alpamare water park, Scarborough Castle, the open air theatre for concerts, the South Cliff Gardens and the North Yorkshire Water Park each offering a superb day out.

Set in the magnificent Filey Bay, Filey is a traditional English seaside resort with a friendly atmosphere, offering a restful holiday, making it an ideal place to stay for walkers and wildlife watchers at any time of the year. Filey Brigg is a low headland that protects Filey Bay and provides good bird watching and seawatching opportunities all year round. The 400 ft high Bempton Cliffs (RSPB Reserve) to the south of Filey Bay are home to over 250,000 seabirds in the summer. The town itself seems almost caught in a time warp, retaining much of its character with individual shops, narrow paths and ginnels and there is a slipway where local fishermen keep their boats, plus delightful beach chalets that can be hired through the summer months. The bay is edged with two promenades and there are various gardens, where brass bands play on a Sunday afternoon. This small town is family orientated and there are loads of family activities such as Alpamare UK waterpark, Filey Bird Garden and Animal Park and the Filey Dams Nature Reserve, a wetland reserve where all kinds of common and rare birdlife can be seen. A short drive brings you to the busier town of Scarborough where you will find great beaches, a castle, the Rotunda Museum and the acclaimed Sea Life Centre. Other towns worth visiting close to Filey include Bridlington, Whitby, Hornsea and Saltburn, which all demonstrate the vibrancy of this picturesque North Yorkshire region.
