"This is a lovely house in a great location."
Plenty of bedroom space, beds and pillows very comfortable. Lounge area also comfortable and large dining room table set for 10 people. The hot tub is a nice addition.
Thanks Maxine. Really glad to hear you enjoyed your stay at Crescent Bay House and found it comfortable and well suited to your group. Great to hear you enjoyed the hot tub too. Thanks again for your booking!

"Had a lovely stay."
10 guests in all. Sitting room a little cramped when all in there. Could have done with an extra toilet, but we did manage. Overall I would recommend this property.
Thanks Pauline. It's great to know you all had a lovely stay at Crescent Bay House and would recommend it. We appreciate your comments about the space and facilities too, and thanks for taking the time to leave your feedback.

"We had a lovely stay at Crescent Bay House."
It was close enough even for our little ones to get to local amenities and activities. One thing we would change about the property would be to add a television to the dining room, so that adults and children could watch different programmes. Apart from that, the house was stocked with everything we needed. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
Thanks Keeley. Glad you enjoyed your stay at Crescent Bay House and found the location convenient for the family. Thanks for the suggestion about having a TV in the dining room too - we'll keep this in mind. Thanks again for your booking!

"We had a lovely stay at Crescent Bay House."
There was plenty of room for us all to spread out. We loved the hot tub! The house was very clean. The bedding and towels were lovely. The only thing that let the house down were the beds. Many of them had slats missing or they’d fallen out of the slots. We had to spend time each night, putting them all back in place.
Thanks Alexandra. Glad you enjoyed your stay at Crescent Bay House and made good use of the hot tub. Sorry about the issue with the bed slats - that shouldn't have happened, and we'll get these checked. Thanks for letting us know!

Every thing was lovely our group was aged from 2months to 86 everyone had a lovely time
Lovely clean everything we needed
The garden would benefit from some more furniture at the top so everyone could sit and relax
Ideally situated for shops etc
Thanks Karen. Lovely to hear everyone enjoyed their stay at Crescent Bay House. Thanks for the suggestion about some extra garden furniture too - we'll have a look at what's possible. Thanks again!

"Really happy with the accommodation, which was very spacious and the decor was lovely throughout."
It was in a great location, close to the centre of Filey and a short walk to the beach. There was an error message on the hot tub when we first arrived at the property. This was handled very swiftly and efficiently by the maintenance man who came round, although it meant we weren't able to use the hot tub on our first day.
Thanks Daniel. Great to hear you enjoyed your stay at Crescent Bay House. Sorry the hot tub issue meant you couldn't use it on the first day, but glad we were able to get it sorted quickly. Thanks again!

"On arrival, we were unable to access the property and had to contact the owner, at which point we were informed that the door code provided to us was incorrect."
In addition, only one front door key was supplied. Given the size of our group, this was impractical and made it difficult for people to come and go independently.
As the weather was very good during our stay, we made considerable use of the outside space at the rear of the property. This area has potential to be very enjoyable, but it was clearly in need of maintenance. The grass required cutting and weeding, and the patio area was also overgrown.
More concerning, however, were the items we found scattered outside, including a cork, a torn balloon and a large rusty screw in a burnt area at the edge of the lawn, which appeared to have been used previously for a barbecue or fire. This presented an unnecessary hazard, particularly given that we had young children with us.
The storage area next to the hot tub was completely open and would benefit from having a secure door, as it contained materials that were not suitable for the two small children in our party to access. In addition, the wood beneath the hot tub power supply was rotten and had protruding nails, which was another obvious safety concern.
We also found that the outside drain was not aligned correctly, which caused a significant amount of water to leak from the connection.
Inside the property, there were several issues with cleanliness and upkeep. The grill pan was dirty and had to be cleaned before use, the hobs gave off an unpleasant smell when turned on, and the kettle was heavily scaled.
We also noticed that the salt in the salt cellar contained pieces of wood, suggesting that the container itself was deteriorating internally.
The upstairs shower tray leaked badly, which meant that for the remainder of the stay all members of our group had to use the downstairs bath shower instead. There was also a separate leak coming from underneath the upstairs bath, despite the fact that it had not been used.
One of the cushions in the living room had a broken zip, with the fastener parts left loose on the sofa. This was a potential choking hazard for our toddlers.
There was mould around the window frames and ledges, and the inside of the windows were very dirty. There were also noticeable gaps in the woodwork, including around the cupboards in the bay window area.
One of the beds collapsed when someone got onto it. Following this, we checked the others and discovered that all of the beds have ill-fitting and unsecured slats. We had to reposition them ourselves to reduce the risk of any further, potentially more serious, accidents.
Although visually attractive, the door handles were highly impractical. One of the children and my elderly mother both became trapped in separate rooms and had to be let out by someone on the outside. I also found several of the doors difficult to open on more than one occasion.
The property itself could be lovely and has clearly been styled with care, but there is a noticeable lack of attention to detail and the standard of cleaning was not what we would expect.
Given that we paid a premium rate for a three-night stay over the Bank Holiday weekend, we expected the quality and condition of the property to reflect this.
We are experienced in renting family properties for short breaks and have done so several times a year over the past five years. Unfortunately, this is the first time we have felt it necessary to make a formal complaint, but the number and seriousness of the issues we encountered left us extremely disappointed.
This was also the first time we had not been provided with the small touches that usually help make a stay feel welcoming, such as a basket of goodies or a guest book. Taken together with the issues outlined above, this contributed to an experience that fell well below expectations.
In light of the number and seriousness of the problems encountered,

"We booked this property for 9 people."
There was plenty of parking outside the property. It was clean and we had everything we needed for our 2 night stay. The property was decorated really well and less than a 5 min walk into Filey. We would definitely book this property again
Thanks Kate. Lovely to hear Crescent Bay House worked so well for your group and that you'd book again. Thanks again for the lovely feedback!

"Bank holiday weekend stay for two couples and 4 kids under 10."
A lovely, clean property, with modern kitchen and bathrooms. All 5 bedrooms were decently sized and the bed in the master room was super comfortable. The kids loved playing in the hot tub. Super handy for Tesco, Heron and the railway and petrol stations, with the town and the beach being a little further away (still within walking distance). Parking on the street was sometimes tough and ideally, having the garden table closer to the hot tub would be the only things that would make this stay better for us. We would definitely go back and stay here again.
Thanks Paul. Great to hear you had such a good family weekend at Crescent Bay House and that you'd come back again. Thanks for the suggestions too - we'll have a look at the garden layout, and we appreciate the comments about parking. Thanks again!

"A lovely clean house, in a great location, very well equipped and comfy beds!"
The hot tub was a real hit with the younger ones, and the outside space bigger than expected- room for a couple of loungers perhaps??? The only omission was a visitor's book, always useful for local recommendations
Thanks Evelyn. Glad you enjoyed your stay at Crescent Bay House and made good use of the hot tub. Thanks for the suggestions too - we'll keep the loungers and a visitors' book in mind. Thanks again!

"The property is exactly as the listing."
We were celebrating 2 60th birthdays and the house accommodated 3 generations together. We had 2 small issues with the travel cot missing and a leak on the dishwasher…however Alex the owner remedied these within half an hour (probably quicker in reality!). The hot tub was great. Everywhere is within walking distance. Parking was nearby but not necessarily in front of the house. If you’ll have us, we’ll be back sometime. Thanks from the Goddard/Jarvis/Chawner/Doyle (very soon to be Chawner) family.
Thanks Martin. Great to hear you had such a good time celebrating the two 60th birthdays, and glad we could get the little issues sorted quickly. Lovely to hear you'd like to come back - we'd be very happy to welcome you all again!
