Castelian

Very impressed with this cosy, spacious bungalow.

An added bonus was the large enclosed garden - perfect for our four legged friends. The only downside was the very slippery bath with no hand rails - otherwise perfect!

comfortable,clean.

everything you need for a fido friendly holiday.

Lovely little bungalow, clean and homely.

In a lovely quiet area, easy to park and good access to all attractions. I would definitely stay there again. Everything was there that you need for a comfortable stay.

A lovely, peaceful bungalow in a perfect location for coastal walks, as well as village amenities.

A home from home. Only areas that could be improved are a freezer or freezer compartment in the fridge; also, our dog tore his claw on the metal grate step outside the back door on the first day. We used the indoor doormat to cover it when going in and out to prevent this from happening again.

Thanks for a great stay!

The property was very nice. The sofas and double bed were very comfy. The garden was a great bonus as it was fairly large, well kept and very secure. The location was also very good. We highly recommend this property. Andy & Gill

Well equipped bungalow with a very comfortable double bed!

Secure garden which our dog enjoyed. Convenient for exploring Bempton cliffs, Flamborough, Bridlington plus lots of other areas.

Very good accommodation bed is hard mugs left with tea stains not what you expect

An excellent bungalow in a nice quiet location.

Well equipped. Lovely enclosed back garden. Good base for the Yorkshire area.

The only issue we encountered was the parking of the vehicles.

On the photos it looks as if you can park on the drive, however we only have a Ford focus and it would not fit passed the gate. Therefore if you have a larger or more than one vehicle you would have to park in the village.

Comfortable, quiet and nicely situated.

Lovely area and excellent local facilities. Owner very responsive to our queery on arrival and very prompt action taken. Highly recommended. Thank you for your care.

Lovely comfortable cottage, very clean & tidy, homely.

Great location for walking to Flamborough Lighthouse. Plenty of cutlery, cups etc, but there was no sweeping brush (only dustpan & brush) for kitchen floor & no refills for flash mop for floor. We had a dog so would have been ideal for cleaning floor. There is an outside tap but no pipe attached, would have been ideal for cleaning muddy paws & boots. Overall we would stay again. Thank you. X

Was our favourite stay place in past.

Now it was not clean and smelled of dogs. Don't want to return as it is now. I took pics of the unclean issues incase the owners are interested. John b

Our third visit to this cottage this year.

We love the position it's in as very peaceful and handy for all local walks. The cottage itself is comfortable and welcoming. Lovely enclosed garden if you have a dog. Neighbours very friendly as well.

We had a good stay although things did let it down.

The outside light didn't work, the main light in the twin bedroom didn't work, the kitchen bin lid was broken and the air fryer didn't work. I feel these things should have been working and let our stay down.

Castilian is a comfortable bungalow in a lovely position.

Easy access to the coast path and local beaches, well stocked shop is a short walk away. The bungalow contains everything necessary for the week. We enjoyed our stay, but, a welcome pack, or even just a pint of milk on arrival would have been a nice touch after a long journey.

Clean and comfortable, parking not easy but location of Flamborough suited as we had family to visit in Bridlington, power outage on arrival, keylock fiddly to open, torches not where stated so were left sitting in dark for a few hours until generator sorted, neighbour from across the road came over to tell us what happened, torches eventually found in hall table, a welcome pack would of been nice and a hair dryer apart from this all was ok

The towel rail next to the bath did not warm up.

There was not a bath mat to put in the slippery bath. A walk in shower would be preferred.

The cottage was clean and very comfortable.

The enclosed garden was great for our dog Toby. Great base for visiting the local towns and attractions. Close to several good eating establishments. Some recommendations would be :- look at covering the metal grid on the door step at the side of the property as our dog unfortunately damaged one of his claws by catching it in the grid. Would have been nice to have had a toilet roll provided and there was a nicotine type smell in the kitchen.

No toilet roll on arrival a cup on shelf had tea stains in it silver bread knife had crumbs on it and tv needs re setting not a good picture but a lovely bungalow and nice quiet location will come again

We had a lovely stay in the property.

Just a few minor things. We would have liked some pasta bowls, colander and jug in the kitchen, and a grab rail for the shower. Thank you.

Unfortunately, due to a medical emergency, we only stayed overnight and had to leave the next morning.

However, the cottage was as stated, nice lounge and comfortable bed. The garden and outlook was also very neat . Would like to mention one thing though, after a 3 hour drive it would have been nice if there had been at least a pint of milk in the fridge so we could have made a cup of tea on arrival.

A lovely cosy well equipped bungalow.

In a quiet area but still close to all amenities. Our little dog loved the enclosed garden. Unfortunately we only managed to sit out one afternoon due to the weather. So we will have to try book again soon. Shame about two local pubs now being closed. But still plenty of local eateries. Very friendly neighbours too.

This property is very nice and clean not to far away from where we like to go plus beds are very comfortable and nice to have the enclosed garden.

Nice and quite area so would definitely return in the future and highly recommend it and owners sound very nice to

The property was well positioned for walks to Dane’s Dyke such a love place , the cottage itself was well equipped with a lovely enclosed garden , the neighbours to the left were lovely and other neighbours around were so friendly would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a peaceful village break.

Must try the Rose and Crown pub for food it was amazing Debbie, Kevin and the dogs Riley and Ollie

Absolutely fantastic bungalow in a nice quiet area.

Great little friendly village

Lovely property in a very quiet and peaceful part of Flamborough, only 10 minutes walk to pub, Coop and chip shop.

Lovely shower and very efficient heating system. Very well equipped. Lovely back garden, a real sun trap in the afternoon.

We have just returned from 12 days at Castelian.

We loved the bungalow as it was so peaceful and secluded. Very comfortable bedrooms with good quality bedding and towels. There was everything we needed for a good stay. Have booked to go back in April. The only thing that would improve it is having a smart TV instead of the one currently there.

Great cottage in a peaceful location, can't fault the property it had everything we needed, cosy and comfortable.

Would happily book this again

The only disappointment was the lack of a freezer or freezer compartment in the fridge.

The dog food should have been kept frozen but we had to let it all defrost in the fridge.

My wife and I have just returned from a great short break at Castellian bungalow and were delighted with the property.

Everything was of top quality and we were able to thank the cleaner when we left for the great standard she had kept the bungalow in.

This is a lovely, cosy, bungalow situated in a quiet location yet handy for lots of walks right from the doorstep.

Nice well maintained property:

Lovely bungalow on a quiet street and only 1/2 mile from the cliffs near South Landing.

We had difficulty with the side door which was very stiff and difficult to lock or unlock. I could manage it once I discovered what to do but my wife really struggled. Strangely there was no key for the front door. Note that there is no broadband/wifi at this property.

Loved the location and the quietness of the garden.

Parking is fine for two small cars and off the road. Really comfy and warm especially in the stormy weather. Well equipped for everything and our dog loved the garden. Just need to focus on fixing the side door as this was a problem on the holiday (easy to contact the owner and explained it was stiff). Tided in without having access to the front door made me feel uneasy. More information in the guidebook would be useful such as what bins to use for rubbish/recycle.I am sure overtime guests will add to the book also for walks etc. Survived without wi fi and went to the local charity shop for some DVDS. We look forward to another stay as overall its a lovely place to stay and see the area also.

The side door was very difficult to lock and unlock Would prefer a walk in shower

When we first booked with Sykes wifi was featured as a benefit; nowadays it is expected so if not available it should be mentioned before booking.

There is little point in emailing check out instructions to guests staying in properties without wifi! Ample parking for three cars is a bit of a stretch and parking an average car is ok until you want to get out - take a look at the car parked outside the property on Street View and you'll see the angle. This is not the first time we've had a problem with car space at Sykes properties. The property itself is well-equipped and kept very tidy, the owner most helpful and the location excellent. We had a super time and hope it will become less popular before long so we can go again!
