  • "Gorgeous little house."

Spotless and had everything we needed with really luxurious soft towels. I nearly always get back ache when I sleep away from my usual bed but never did - the beds were super comfy. Wine and biscuits on arrival. Great local pub with a extensive menu and the halloumi gyros were better than in Greece. 10 minute walk to Robin Hood’s beach. Great stay - thanks

We're glad the stay was both comforting and relaxing. The Fylingdales Inn is a favourite of ours and their menu is beautiful. Property Owner

  • "Lovely cottage in a traditional, pretty, quiet village location, close to Robin Hood's Bay and the Cleveland Way."

Quiet and easy parking right outside front door. I recommend picking up the Cinder Trail, walking to Ravenscar, then loop back along the coast on Cleveland Way to the Bay, dropping on the beach at Boggle youth hostel. Incredible views, especially if you're lucky with the weather. Really enjoyed the stay.

Thank you for your positive review. We believe the area is the most quaint and peaceful in the North. Property Owner

  • "We found the cottage equipped and maintained well enough."

The only reason we have put good for comfort is because the mattress’s were a bit too soft for us. I know it’s a personal preference. Otherwise absolutely fine

Thank you for your kind words and we hope you enjoyed your stay at Braeside. Property Owner

  • "Only one remark, bottom of the shower screen had black mould, the wife remover this easily using bleach, but this minor think would not stop us from booking this property & would recommend it to anyone."

We are very sorry that this issue arose as we and our cleaner pride ourselves on providing a high level of cleanliness. We will make sure more detailed checks are carried out moving forward. we hope this didn't affect your stay at Braeside. Property Owner

A 15 minute walk to the beach ans only a few minutes from a pub and shop. Everything we needed for our stay was thought of too.

About the location

FYLINGTHORPE

Robin Hood's Bay 0.6 miles; Whitby 5.2 miles; Scarborough 15.8 miles.

Resting within a stone's throw of the delightful fishing village of Robin Hood's Bay is the sweet village of Fylingthorpe. Lying inland from the coast following a steep winding road, this settlement was most likely of Scandinavian origin from the 9th century, and is today a bustling village scattered with quaint cottages and several amenities. Pick up some fresh loaves from the little bakery Barnard's or stock up on some essentials from the local shop, Thorpe Stores. The Fylingdales Inn offers a welcoming place to sip a pint after a busy day of walking the North Yorkshire coast, while a wider selection of pubs and bars can be found in the neighbouring village of Robin Hood's Bay, with some even providing a picturesque sea view. From here hop onto the Cleveland Way when you are beginning to explore and walk up to the wonderful Whitby town centre, where a host of delights await you; visit the eerie Whitby Abbey, said to have inspired Bram Stoker when he wrote Dracula, and then walk down the 199 Steps towards the beach. Enjoy wandering around Whitby Museum, take a Whitby Storyteller Guided Walk, or go to The Endeavour Experience to learn about how sailing was years ago. Fylingthorpe makes for a wonderful base to discover the host of attractions of North Yorkshire.
