  • "I would definitely recommend The Grange, plenty of room for our party of 12 plus 4 dogs, very comfortable in every way."

However, I feel a couple of things could be addressed, a security light was pointed directly at one of the bedrooms and disturbed the nights sleep. Also I feel the garden ought to be fenced so as to let the dogs have some freedom first and last thing. Also, I think having a mid sized saucepan would be helpful, as there was either a small one or very big one, and the were no scissors, minor details, but worth a mention Maybe looking to the future an electric car charging point would be beneficial

Hi Sue, Thank you so much for your thoughtful review and for recommending The Grange! We’re delighted to hear that your group, along with your furry friends, enjoyed a comfortable stay. We truly appreciate your feedback regarding the garden area. We’re currently taking steps to enhance the outdoor space by extending the hedges to create a more enclosed environment, using natural elements to maintain the property’s charm. In the future, we also plan to add additional features, including fencing, to offer even more security for pets. Your suggestions about kitchen equipment and the security light have been noted, and we will be addressing these to improve the guest experience. The idea of adding an electric car charging point is something we’re exploring as well. Thank you again for your valuable input, and we hope to welcome you back for another fantastic stay! I hoover or at least a soft brush would be useful and it definitely needs downstairs toilet , there so much space! Lovely stay and highly recommended!

We truly appreciate your suggestions regarding adding a soft brush or hoover and we have put these in the property for future guests. • "We have stayed at the house twice now, the first time much better than the second."

The house is dirty and in need of a good clean. There is cobwebs everywhere and big build ups of dirt and dust. The showers are also in need of a good clean. Beds are very squeaky and uncomfortable. The spindle on the staircase fell off when we first got there it had just been propped up in place and wasn't screwed in. The hot tub was murky and had a green tint on the first day. The back door handle snapped off when a guest was going to the hot tub. The hot water is a nightmare there wasn't enough for everyone to get a wash which is not something you expect when booking a house for 15 people yet only enough hot water for 2 bath fulls. I had to contact maintenance 4 times In the 3 days we were there which again is not something you want to be doing when your on holiday. Overall not happy with the stay after paying all that money The maintenence men were very nice and sorted the issues quickly.

  • "Lovely property."

Great garden.Well equipped. It was superficially clean, areas of the house needed a deep cleaning. The carpets were stained and the stair carpet is loose. The paintwork is chipped and dirty and the wallpaper particularly in the hallway and stairs is very grubby. The oven shelves were covered in burnt on food as were the baking tins. The kitchen smells of oily food because of this. One of the wardrobes is broken, at the bottom .

Hi Veronica, Thank you for your feedback. We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed the property, garden, and how well-equipped it was. However, we’re sorry that certain areas did not meet your expectations in terms of cleanliness and maintenance. Since your stay, the carpets throughout the house have been professionally cleaned, and the hallway and snooker room have been re-painted. We’ve also started to address the kitchen issues and our maintenance team are looking into repairing the wardrobe to ensure everything is in top condition for future guests. We truly appreciate your comments, as they help us improve, and we hope to welcome you back for an even better experience in the future Kind Regards Jacki and The Grange Team Property Owner

  • "Overall a lovely house and great location but there are a number of things that need to be improved and should not have been an issue when we were paying this much."

The shower curtain in the downstairs wetroom was smelly and mouldy - we had to wash it with the washing machine. Some of the beds are very uncomfortable e.g. mattress on 4 poster bed too hard. Pillowcases too small for some of the pillows. Barbeque grate filthy so we had to use disposable barbeques on top. No instructions for appliances e.g. the instruction booklet that we did find on top of the fridge for the dishwasher was for a different brand.

Hi Ian, Thank you for your feedback. We’re glad to hear you enjoyed the house and location, but we’re sorry that certain aspects fell short of expectations. We sincerely apologise for the issues with the shower curtain, mattresses, and barbecue grate. We have addressed these matters with our housekeeping and maintenance teams to ensure they’re resolved for future guests. We also appreciate your comments about the appliance instructions, and we are in the process of updating our guest book to ensure correct guides are available and easy to find. Your input is valuable in helping us improve, and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back for a more comfortable stay in the future. • "Lovely big property with great rooms and facilities, it's also close to beaches and the coastal path."

The large garden needs fencing to make it pet/child safe especially as locals seem to think a public footpath runs through the lawn, a fence would stop them. It would also benefit from some nice outdoor furniture to sit out. The hot tub was wonderful on an evening.

Hi Julian, Thank you so much for your lovely review! We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed our spacious property, the great rooms, and the facilities we offer. It's wonderful that you appreciated the proximity to the beaches and the coastal path—those are some of our favourite features too! We truly value your feedback regarding the garden. Ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for all our guests, including those with pets and children, is very important to us. We'll certainly look into the possibility of adding a fence to enhance privacy and safety. Additionally, we appreciate your suggestion about outdoor furniture, and we'll consider adding more comfortable options for our guests to relax and enjoy the garden. It's fantastic to hear that the hot tub added to your evening relaxation. We always aim to provide a comfortable and memorable stay, and your positive feedback encourages us to keep improving. There was ample room for a large number of people and the additional features such as the large garden, hot tub and pool table were very much used and appreciated. The large kitchen and eating area provided a great focal point for everyone to gather together. The avaliability of two living rooms was also appreciated as the kids could watch what they wanted in one room and adults could use the other room for reading and watching TV. We were blessed with good weather and took full advantage of the footpaths from the house to the coast and the viillage of Flamborough. Great enviroment for dogs too! We had a wonderful holiday and would definitely want to come back in the future.

It was beautifully decorated from the moment we arrived, the jacuzzi and pool table were brilliant additions to our relaxing weekend. The bedrooms are all super modern and beautifully equipped for a lovely stay and plenty of rest. Any problems that we had we were able to get assistance very quickly from the maintenance team and we had everything we needed to cook our Christmas dinner! Stunning location, peaceful and only a short drive to the coast for some even fresher air if you want it. Thanks again to Jacki for hosting our very large friend-family! :-)

  • "Lovely house in perfect location for accessing the coast and the many wonderful coves and sights in this area."

The house is spacious and modern with great amenities. The beds were very comfy and the bedding was to die for, all guests commented that the bedding was so nice and soft, clean and of good quality. Owners were attentive and on hand via WhatsApp if we needed! I rated 4* on cleanliness as we found a mouldy banana in a drawer, a full cooked pizza in the oven and a whole tray of baked jacket potatoes that had been cooked and left in there, so assuming no one Checked the cooking appliances. The hot tub also had lots of bits in it, and there wasn’t a net to clear it. But the rest of the facilities were really clean and tidy. The only real negative (it’s not really negative but the only comment from all guests) about this whole property is a lack of bathrooms, there were 4 double bedrooms upstairs without en-suite so only one bathroom / toilet for those rooms / 8 people, and no toilet downstairs apart from in the downstairs bedroom, so not accessible to others who aren’t sleeping in there. This caused some queuing for morning bathroom requirements and meant we were all a bit late out for our planned daytime activities. The 10am check out is quite early for such a large house with so many people in, especially when check in is 4pm, but as long as everyone gets organised the night before it’s not so bad, just a rush on a Sunday morning and no one wanted to get out of those comfy beds so early, plus the bathroom queues also made this a stretch! Maybe if there was an option to pay extra for late checkout at 12 this would have eliminated this. If this was an option we would 100% have paid this. I would have liked to have hoovered up, put the towels in the washer etc for the cleaners / stripped the beds etc but there just wasn’t time. On the whole this is a really nice characterful property with a stunning kitchen-diner which is perfect for large family gatherings. 2 living rooms so kids in one and those seeking peace in the other! The views are lovely, garden is huge and location is perfect. We had an amazing time for a special occasion weekend and all guests said they would book again. If we were there for a week, we may have struggled with just the one fridge for all of us (15 of us) but the bathroom situation would have been sorted with a timetable or routine if we were there longer. Oh, almost forgot, this property is super child friendly with toys, colouring table, outdoor toys, TVs and even potty’s!

Dear Amy, Thank you for your kind and detailed feedback. We're so pleased you liked The Grange and had a good weekend for your special family occasion. I'm sorry to hear there were some food items found in the kitchen. The cleaners will be reminded to check the ovens are clear before they finish cleaning! We look forward to welcoming you to The Grange again. Kind regards, Jacki Property Owner
