Great group accommodation.

Not always easy to find accommodation where every bedroom has its own en-suite so this was perfect for our family getaway. Well stocked with everything you could need to cook indoors. Perfect location in the town centre for cafes/pubs/restaurants. Short drive to Saltburn-by-the-Sea which makes for an easy beach visit. We really enjoyed our short stay and would definitely recommend. Wish we had more time to explore the wider area but a good excuse for returning

We have been coming to Guisborough Town Hall with our women's cycling group for the last 3 years.

This year was very disappointing. we felt that the property was not looked after and was not very clean, scruffy and unkempt. Some of the mattresses were uncomfortable to sleep on and need a mattress topper or new mattresses. Room 3 there was an issue with the shower, sink and toilet. It was all blocked and the smell from the drains was disgusting. This permeated throughout the building. It used to be luxury accommodation but has become dirty and tired. The kitchen lights did not work properly. Do you know when they were last checked? there were not any spare bin liners. It is such a shame because we used to say this was a luxury break but we are no longer prepared to pay for substandard accommodation.

A great place in a great location, perfect for a group that enjoy a good high street full of good restaurants, shops and pubs.

The property is well laid out over two floors and is well proportioned. It's warm, comfortable and clean, there's a well equipped kitchen and a working lift to boot. The only downside is there's no toilet provision apart from the ones in the bedrooms but it's not a deal breaker, we've re-booked for next year. Really enjoyed our stay in this fabulous accommodation, can thoroughly recommend.

Our 3rd visit to the Town Hall and it didnt disappoint as always.

We love it here. Big lovely bedrooms all ensuite, 2 sitting areas so the kids have their own space. Kitchen is excellent. We cooked Sunday dinner for 19 people in it! Super helpful housekeeping team are on hand locally if any concerns. Planning our 4th visit already!

This was the second time I have stayed at Guisborough Town Hall.

it is ideally placed with easy access to long stay car parks, restaurants and bars. a fairly short drive will take you to Whitby, Filey, Robin Hood's Bay, etc The quality of the property is outstanding . It is incredibly clean and very comfortable (the beds, bedding and pillows are excellent). The property was warm and cozy and altering the heating settings wasn't that difficult. The property is spacious and very well equipped. I will certainly be booking again and have no hesitation in recommending this property to others.

Negative Toilet seat loose .

Central heating requires a PHD IN Science and Technology to turn on and off . Ridiculously complicated. No carpets anywhere so it has a municipal feel . No washing machine Clock had batteries that were corroded. I replaced them .

We enjoyed our stay at the Town Hall and the space was ideal for our family gathering of 14, everyone had their own space.

The house is finished to a high standard and all rooms are comfortable. The only drawback which is nothing to do with the house is the noise from outside as located on the main road. This cannot be helped by the owners but it did make sleeping difficult especially on a bank holiday night. We would however return if in the area and looking for a large family stay.

So spacious and good location. No parking available outside the property but there are car parks nearby. Would highly recommend for family gatherings.

When we arrived at the house we found we couldn’t unload in Bakehouse Square as a bollard had been installed and therefore the check in instructions were misleading as we drove around trying to find a way to get into it and a place to park close to the door.

The phone number provided for help was not available after 4 which was the check in time so was fairly useless - if check in is not until 4 it would make sense to have a non emergency number that was available for an hour or so after arrival time for teething problems. On unloading the magnetic closer broke on the front door and I was unable to shut the door. I had to call the emergency owner number provided as it was after 4 pm and wait for them to arrive to attempt to fix it. The rooms in the property were freezing. Some as low 8 degrees. Some of the radiators in the hallways and some bedrooms were switched off completely. None of the radiators in tha bathrooms were turned on and the underfloor heating was also turned off. This is a very large property with stone walls - at this time of year if they want to keep it comfortable for people it can’t be left till arrival day to heat it up. The instruction manual in the property showed how to turn the radiators up but the instructions didn’t match the controls on the radiators in the property. The next day they sent someone round mid morning to deal with it. The radiators are contriolled by an app on a phone rather than manually and they were all adjusted via the phone the next day. We were told by the owner that the previous guests had adjusted the temperature and they hadn’t realised. I am not sure how this happened as they were controlled by an app on the phone, it’s also would have been January and cold so not sure why a guest would turn off the radiators. It is also unclear how the cleaners didn’t realise that most heating was turned off when they cleaned as we noticed within 5 minutes of taking our shoes and coats off. The cleaners must have been aware of the temperature in the building and that the radiators and underfloor heating were off when they cleaned. It made for a very uncomfortable first night, everyone having to sleep in clothes as it was so cold. It did eventually warm up but it wasn’t comfortable until Saturday afternoon, we didn’t use the second sitting room much as it remained chilly for the duration. It was a shame as the property is spacious and great for a group. Had it been warm it would have been an excellent place to stay. The location is good - walkable to everything you need on the high street. Parking is problematic on Saturday if you take your car out as the long stay car park gets busy and have to sue the short stay. A couple of things that the group mentioned that they would change (in addition to the heating). On a sustainability level - using small mini shampoos and body washes , individual sachets of coffee, tea and milk - this could definitly increase your green credentials. Usually in big properties there are some basics like - oil, salt, pepper, sugar but none were provided. A few more tea towels and cloths would be good too. Overall we liked the location and the property but it was so cold that it did affect everyone’s comfort levels - particularly the older memevers of the group. It is in a good location for us interms of being close to family so would consider booking again if we came as a group again for a family event. However if it was in the winter I would check that the property was occupied directly before us and if it was not occupied I would ask for the heating to be put on a couple of days before arrival as we now know that it takes a good 48 hours to hear the property once the heating is turned on after a period of being unoccupied.

Very impressive accommodation, suitable for are group of 12 adults, though it can accommodate 18.

Location was second to none, everything was include to make are stay very comfortable. We would have booked again next year but new years eve has already been booked, very sad.

2nd time staying at the Town Hall and it won't be the last.

It suits our group perfectly. Every bedroom is like a hotel bedroom, the finish is superb throughout and the location is excellent. We parked at Fountain Street, which is just through bakehouse square. You can unload in Bakehouse Square despite what local businesses might tell you!

This is an amazing venue for a break for a large group - we love it!

This is possibly the biggest and most impressive house we have ever rented as a family.

It is huge! The bedrooms and bathrooms are all beautiful. Also loved the lounge and kitchen area. The dining table is so big, even 10 of us only half filled it. Couple of things like the fridge needs fixing. It works but the door is slightly faulty and there's a flickering light. A toilet seat was coming off in one of the rooms but was fixed within a couple of days when I contacted the owner. As the previous reviewer mentioned, there's building works going on right outside the property. The time they start has changed to between 7.50 - 8am. First 2 days they blasted their music at this time! I let the owner know and this stopped so I do recommend letting her know if there's a problem as she did sort it to be fair. If I was the owner I'd be going nuts actually as these builders make the most noise 8-9am and then appear to do very little. We couldn't help feeling they were doing it intentionally. Don't let this put you off staying here as it's an amazing property. Carparking is across the road. Download the Ring go app. Not sure there's a way round this but I had to wake up 8am every day and pay for each 24 hours. £5.20 a day I think it was. There's a pub opposite called Cookfella's and we recommend trying this place. We all had a fabulous meal here. Love the location, so close to shops, take away's etc. If you want to stay in the town, this is the place to stay. It really is a beautiful building.

While the property was as described internally we were not informed about the extensive road works right outside which started approx 6.

30am every morning - this caused excessive noise and dust blowing into the property when the windows were open - impossible to sleep during this time. We were not able to even stop to unload outside the property due to work vehicles! On the last day the cleaners arrived before the 10am checkout time and left bags right in front of the entrance which we then had to try not to trip over when attempting to leave - both inconsiderate and rude as well as still during our official occupancy. This property should not have been rented out - I will be formally complaining to Sykes.

Fantastic place for our golf weekend.

This was a fantastic place to stay.

The property was spotless, really comfortable, well equipped and in a superb location. Cannot recommend it enough.

We had a terrific time at The Town Hall; it was just perfect for our party and it definitely has the Wow factor.

Lovely spacious and comfortable bedrooms and the public spaces were spot on. The outside pavement works didn’t disturb us and we were able to access the rear for loading and unloading our bags and the lift is a great bonus for taking things up to the 2nd floor. All in all, we would have no hesitation in recommending the Town Hall for a group/family get together.

Excellent accommodation ideally located for shops and restaurants

We booked this property to spend some precious time with family and loved ones between the Christmas and New Year period.

It was fabulous, the configuration works well between the main rooms and the bedrooms. The quality of furnishings and fittings were excellent and would definitely book it again. The Hamper and beautiful Christmas decorations made such a lovely added touch. We really had no complaints at all but to offer helpful feedback we found some of the rooms a touch cold, the windows a little noisy when it was windy, there was quite a bit of noise from the pubs directly outside even after 2am but to be expected considering it is in the middle of the town centre, the lack of a communal toilet on the main floor meant that everyone had to use one guests bedroom's facilities which was a little inconvenient for that guest, the lift stopped working once with children in it and one of the bedrooms had a spot of plumbing trouble when flushing the toilet and taking a shower. But these really were very minor issues and certainly did not detract from an amazing time had by all. Thank you, we loved it!

A beautiful well designed and equipped property in a fantastic central location .

Guisbrough provided plenty of places to eat and drink and walk and was a short bus journey away from Whitby and Saltburn on sea which were both beautiful.

A fantastic property for a large group of people right in the middle of lovely Guisborough.

The property had quirky bits & character , was well furnished and well equipped . Plugs in the bedrooms were a bit odd in that they were too far away from mirrors to be able to use the hairdryer but that’s just a silly niggle. We loved the place and will definitely stay again . The welcome pack went down well too

Fantastic accommodation for large family gathering with plenty of space and cooking implements for feeding the 18 of us!

It felt really luxurious and was great value! The hamper was a nice touch and meant we didn't need to rush out for teabags straight away! It was very convenient being in the centre of town, though it was a bit noisy on the weekend nights due to the very nearby pubs... However we definitely hope to stay again!

Beautiful property, very comfortable and caters for everyone with it having a lift.

Loads to do and see in the area as well. We had a great weekend. The only thing we would say is it could have done with a general use toilet on the top floor, the only toilets were en-suite so you had to head back to your room to go to the toilet, other than that perfect!!!! We loved it and would definitely stay again.

Me and my extended family really enjoyed our stay at this amazing and unique property.

There simply isn't anything else like this. The town of Guisborough is a little gem with good food and plenty to do. One small criticism would be that although the whole property is wheelchair friendly, all the showers had narrow doors and a little lip at the bottom, making it difficult for a wheelchair user to enter a shower. None of the bathrooms are specifically wheelchair friendly, which would have been a huge bonus.

Overall an excellent place to stay with a large group.

The rooms are lovely and well furnished. The facilities are excellent. A couple of niggles: - The light in the fridge is flickering like crazy which is surprisingly unpleasant - blinds were not dropped in bedrooms despite it being a sunny day and the house was stiflingly warm (especially top floor) on arrival. Suggest you shut windows and blinds if you anticipate a hot day. - no blinds on south facing windows in the hallways, which meant on a sunny day it just got hotter and hotter. It would also help with heat retention in winter. - window opening set too small to produce a significant breeze. I appreciate that it is a safety feature, but could you have the locking bolts set a bit further up for a larger window open gap? Or fix the bottom window and allow the top to be dropped further thus giving a much larger opening? - the neighbouring pub was very noisy until 2am and then the clientele staggered around the high street shouting at each other. This may have been the heat or maybe this is just a normal weekend. Either way several of our guests suffered very bad night's sleep. I'm not sure what you can do about this. Is the area around the town hall designated as residential? If so, a statutory nuisance order would be possible. It was really very noisy! All of that said, it is a wonderful property for a large party. I would happily book it again for a similar event. All our friends thought it was fabulous. Many thanks. Marty

Absolutely beautiful accommodation, so comfortable and welcoming.

Location is great with plenty of eateries and shops close by (just wish we'd thought to book a table at Cookfellas because they were booked up and the food there smelled amazing, maybe next time!) Every bedroom is as lovely as the next (so we had no debates about which teenagers get the better room) and the two separate living areas worked very well for us. The kitchen is clean, nicely laid out and very well equipped. All in all we couldn't fault the entire place and we'll definitely be back again in the future if we can.

This is an outstanding home.

Without doubt one of the best places I have ever stayed. My group had a wonderful time, and there was so much access to shops and pubs on the high street.

Guisborough Town Hall Accomodations was perfect for our family get together.

Everything we needed for a great stay was there. The welcome basket was beautifully filled with lovely things. The location is so central to everything, with easy access to all the lovely shops on the main street. The beds are comfy and the rooms are decorated to a high standard. I'm going to have map wallpaper in my house!!! The owners were so accommodating and easy to communicate with. The lift in the property was brilliant, we had two wheelchair users with us which made their stay so much easier than other places we've stayed. I'd recommend Guisborough Town Hall to anyone with a large group. Amazing accomodation.

Fabulous 5 day stay, very comfortable, professional set up.

p.s. the dishwasher needs servicing, there is water in the bottom after the cycle is finished, we cleaned the filter and it was good for the next wash but after that it the water was there again.

Lovely Hall with everything you could need.

Could do with mirrors near plug sockets so you can see when drying hair in some bedrooms this wasn't possible.

This was to mark our 50th wedding anniversary to share with family and friends.

We needed somewhere with lots of space and an area to all get together this property provided everything. Welcome hamper was a fabulous extra, nothing was a problem and everything was provided for, whatever was said in description it delivered and more. Thank you for making our time so special

The facilities are great plenty of everything you need especially in the kitchen. Everything was extremely clean. Sharon who met us at the property was friendly, welcoming and very helpful. Guisborough is a great base for exploring the surrounding area. I would highly recommend this property.

We had a wonderful time staying at the town hall for New Year!

Everything was clean, comfortable and the accommodation was such a high standard. It was a perfect place to relax and enjoy time with friends. I would recommend this place to everyone!

What an absolutely amazing property!

We were a party of 17 adults and children, and 2 dogs. The building is huge, beautiful inside, very clean. Every detail had been thought of with ample seating and crockery etc. Every bedroom was individual and spacious. Beds super comfy. There's an area out the back for dogs, and the location meant we had plenty of facilities on the doorstep. Parking easy, long stay across road only £4 for 24 hrs and pay on the ring go app. The housekeeping team were super friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely stay again.

The property was excellent and fully met our expectations.

Guisborough Town Hall is a great place to stay.

Ideally located for countryside walking and trips to the east coast- specifically Saltburn. High quality furnishings and very well presented. Well stocked kitchen for home cooking. Each room is en- suite but unfortunately no separate WC for any visitors other than those staying in the accommodation. Parking available close by and only £4 per day.

The townhall is a truly beautiful place and we had a lovely family weekend.

The place was spotless. The generous welcome hamper was a lovely touch. Michelle was on hand and was welcoming and helpful.

Our stay at the Town Hall was lovely - the accommodation has been beautifully put together and is very spacious.

There was a lovely welcome basket with lots of little treats that went down well with the group! We got lots of recommendations for local places to eat / drink / breakfast spots etc and the hosts were extremely helpful with info on parking and the facilities. 10/10 would recommend!

The property has been beautifully renovated.

A lot of attention to detail to make our stay more luxurious. Comfy beds. Great showers. Fluffy soft towels. Very well equipped for all our needs. We needed to put in a request to the vendors for something extra for our elderly parents while we were there and they responded and came round within a couple of hours. The food hamper and fresh flowers made it extra special. Great local restaurants and bars to relax in after days out. Friendly locals with lots of helpful suggestions for places to visit. Would highly recommend.
