“The photos didn't do Cow Byre justice - it's so much more spacious and luxurious than we expected.”

With underfloor heating and oodles of hot water – all from renewable green energy – we were in heaven! The wood stove was a lovely touch - though we were so warm, we didn't really need it! The bathrooms were huge, showers and bath divine, and the beds incredibly comfortable (I wish I'd taken note of the mattress when I was there!) ...

With underfloor heating and oodles of hot water – all from renewable green energy – we were in heaven! The wood stove was a lovely touch - though we were so warm, we didn't really need it! The bathrooms were huge, showers and bath divine, and the beds incredibly comfortable (I wish I'd taken note of the mattress when I was there!) We had a lovely warm welcome from the owner, with mince pies, tea/coffee/sugar, milk, orange juice and even a bottle of fizz for the New Year – so very thoughtful! The accommodation is perfectly placed for York (we used the park and ride at Monks Cross shopping centre), Malton, Castle Howard, and for exploring the moors. Lots of fab eateries in Malton and the surrounding area - with details all in the guest pack. We loved our stay - it was the perfect place to see out 2019 and then start the new year.

A woodburning stove is a welcoming addition for those chilly evenings.

Completing this excellent interior is an immaculate twin bedroom, offering its own TV for those lazy mornings in bed and an en-suite shower room for added convenience.

On the sunny days, take a wander outside and make the most of the delightful garden, where the grass is maintained attractively and the patio displays sublime views over the encompassing countryside.

Visitors of all tastes and interests will adore this location, it abounds in magnificent walking and cycling country with the North York Moors and Howardian Hills right on your doorstep.

York 18 miles; Scarborough 24 miles.

The market town of Malton has been the historic centre of Ryedale since Roman times, and has many interesting buildings including the old Corn Exchange and Assembly Rooms. A weekly general market is still held in the town, as well as livestock and farmers’ markets. The Yorkshire Moors are to the north, and the Yorkshire Wolds are to the south, making it excellent countryside for walkers and cyclists. The impressive coastline is just 24 miles away, whilst the historic city of York is an 18 mile journey. A perfect base for touring the attractions of North Yorkshire.
