Manor Cottage

Misses the mark.

Could be lovely but lacking on a number of points. So much wasted room which could have been put to better use. Expensive hot tub and garden chairs, along with time, effort and money that has clearly been spent to put a lovely bath in the bedroom and really nice bed, but then rickety wardrobes and no drawers to unpack to. No usable mirror except over the sink in the annex, so nowhere to comfortably do hair and makeup. Position of shower door in cottage bathroom is odd, you have to step around the toilet. Lounge is sparsely furnished, which may be 'minimalist' but there is just one very uncomfortable sofa, a small bedroom chair and a coffee table when it could have been made so comfortable and cosy. Annex bedroom is dark and with just a bed and a wardrobe feels almost like a prison cell. The bathroom in the annex is huge and the shower in here much better, but then there is just a tiny cloakroom sink unit and loads of empty space. A couple of cleaning points missed - yellow mark on duvet cover (about the size of a saucer), hot tub had rusty hair grips and what looked like ash on the side, and airfryer had melted cheese in the bottom. The cottage is not well equipped despite the money clearly spent in some areas so while we had an expensive air fryer we had only two tea plates. One tea towel was provided for 5 nights (we found spares hidden in a cupboard that I don't think we were meant to access) one pan provided (but then oddly a wok and a stock pot). Most cottages provide hand-wash in the toilets and again at this price point just odd that it was not. Also things like coasters just not provided. A torch would have been a thoughtful addition too, something that has been there at many other cottages we have used, AND 100% needed here due to the annex bedroom. Take one...you will need it. All that being said we had a lovely few days, the area is great and the good weather helped a lot. The cottage has great potential but is disappointing currently especiallyfor what we paid. A shame as we met Craig, the owner, when we arrived and he was very welcoming and friendly.

We had a lovely stay and Manor Cottage was very comfortable.

There wasn't a shop nearby, and parking is on the street. We had fabulous weather but no outside table, chairs and brolly for shade. Overall, very good and easily improved.

Loved the cottage, but we came as a family and I don’t think it was clear on the listing that the 2nd bedroom was in a separate building.

As our children are teenagers it worked ok but I don’t feel it would be suitable for families with younger children. All this said we had a lovely weekend, it was very clean, we loved the hot tub, it’s a great location, so quiet.

The cottage was amazing,everything was new and so relaxing in a nice quiet village near a pub and not to far from the beach and other sea side towns.

Absolutely loved the stay at Manor Cottages,such a beautiful place to stay.

The owner has put a lot of thought in to the renovation.We wanted a quiet break and that’s what we got it was so lovely no noise at all. Nothing was too much trouble for the owner he was on hand if needed . We would definitely be going back 100%

It was well set out and had everything you needed. There was a few snagging problems but Craig sorted these straight away. The hottub is amazing . The area is fantastic for walking and the local pub is 200m away and is very welcoming. I would recommend you to stay here.

The hot tub was lovely. The owner was super helpful and on hand if we needed him during our stay. Our dog loved the garden and the walks around the cottage. We will definitely be back
